Chapter 3918

From this day on, the names of Linshan and Su Xinghui were remembered in the hearts of countless TV viewers and netizens.

In the motorcade of the Linshan City Rescue Team, more than a dozen large machines were added. These large machines were prepared by the Xinhuo Foundation's agency in Shudu under the command of Yu Ruizhi on the way. They had been waiting in Shudu City, waiting for them to come. Now they joined the motorcade of the rescue team.

In addition to these large machines, there were several refueling trucks in the motorcade, because these large machines, large trucks, including their off-road vehicles and vans, all needed to be refueled, and they were all oil tigers. Without a few refueling trucks following, this motorcade would have to lie down before long.

With these large machines, they played a very important role in opening roads and rescue.

Although the road to Xingfu County was not broken, some places on the road would still be twisted and deformed by the power of seismic waves, and some mountains might also have large stones rolling down from the mountains, blocking the road. Therefore, these large machines were very important.

When arriving at the disaster area, for those collapsed buildings, if there were no large machines, then there was no talk of rescue at all. Human power is sometimes exhausted. At this time, relying purely on human power was impossible. For those prefabricated panels that were several tons, without large machines, who could move them?

Large machines usually look very slow in action, but when they really run, they can run very fast. Their speed was raised to 50 or 60 yards. On this national highway, it was not slow, especially when passing through some road sections that became uneven or twisted and deformed due to the earthquake, they even had an advantage in speed over those cars.

After the motorcade drove out for more than 20 kilometers, there was a piece of mountain land in front. Stones and mud rolling down from the mountain blocked the road. A large shovel went up to push the stones and mud into the mountain ditch, and the motorcade was able to continue moving forward.

Yu Ruizhi said to Su Xinghui, "Xinghui, I am very familiar with Xingfu County. For a period of time, in order to build the earthquake-resistant public school here, I lived here for more than a month."

Su Xinghui could hear the deep emotion in Yu Ruizhi's words, and he also understood Yu Ruizhi's mood very well. He said, "Brother Yu, you have done enough for this place."

Yu Ruizhi said, "I am now worried about whether those earthquake-resistant public schools can really withstand such a strong earthquake. I have no bottom in my heart!"

Su Xinghui said, "Brother Yu, the schools you supervised and built here will definitely be able to withstand the earthquake."

Yu Ruizhi said, "I hope so."

Xingfu County was only 70 or 80 kilometers away from Shudu City. Although the road was not easy to walk, under the road opening of large machines, the motorcade of the rescue team took about less than two hours to arrive at Xingfu County.

The disaster situation in the southern part of Xingfu County was not serious, and there were no high and dense buildings in these towns in the south. More of them were large pieces of farmland, so it looked like nothing happened.

However, as soon as they arrived at Xingfu County, they could see that it was devastated. Almost all the buildings in the county were razed to the ground. In the whole county, the buildings that could still stand could be counted on one hand, and the rest of the places all became ruins.

The motorcade drove into Xingfu County and stopped in a square. This square was the square in front of the newly built county government office building in Xingfu County. The county government office building had eight floors, which was also one of the few buildings in Xingfu County that had not collapsed.

This was because the quality of the county government office building was quite good, and it was a frame structure with certain seismic performance. However, this newly built building had also been twisted and deformed.

Seeing the motorcade stop in the square, a group of people walked towards the motorcade. Cai Jingsheng got off the car and greeted them. He had been trying to contact the county leaders of Xingfu County by phone on the way, but he had never succeeded. This great earthquake had completely destroyed the communication network of Xingfu County.

And the people who greeted them now were the county leaders of Xingfu County.

Cai Jingsheng said to the middle-aged man in his fifties who was the head, "Old He, how is the situation in the county now?"

This middle-aged man was He Fusheng, the secretary of the Xingfu County Party Committee. One of his arms was tied with a bandage and hung on his neck. His hair was messy, his head was full of dust, and his face was also covered with blood. He looked very embarrassed. He said to Cai Jingsheng, "Director Cai, the situation in the county is not very good!"

Cai Jingsheng said solemnly, "How is the situation in the county? Tell us quickly."

He Fusheng then reported the disaster situation of Xingfu County to Cai Jingsheng. The number of deaths that could be confirmed in Xingfu County was already over 100, and the number of injured people was countless. This was an unprecedented great disaster in the history of Xingfu County, and this number was rising almost every moment. In those ruins, I don't know how many people were buried.

Now the local garrison had invested in rescue work, and these county leaders were almost all injured. However, after simple bandaging, they began to command the rescue work.

Now the most lacking supplies in Xingfu County were food, drinking water, medicine, and tents, etc. Earthquake rescue equipment was even less to talk about. The local area could not prepare a large number of rescue equipment at all.

The local area originally had some construction machinery. These machines worked for a period of time, and many wounded and the bodies of the dead were dug out by these machines. However, these machines were damaged in the earthquake, and the local gas station also became a ruin, so now these machines had no oil and lay down one after another.

Now all the disaster relief soldiers and civilians in the county were hungry, using simple tools such as shovels and hammers to carry out disaster relief work. Some people were even using their hands to dig and dig. How low the efficiency was, it goes without saying.

He Fusheng's narration made Su Xinghui, Cai Jingsheng, and others frown. The current situation was really not optimistic.

Su Xinghui decisively asked He Fusheng to notify the local masses to come to the square to unload the disaster relief supplies on these fifty large trucks. There were a large number of tents on the trucks. These tents also had to be set up. Now it was getting dark. With these tents, everyone had a place to rest.

He Fusheng didn't know Su Xinghui. He looked at Su Xinghui suspiciously. Cai Jingsheng said to him, "Old He, this is Comrade Su Xinghui, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Linshan City, Yanbei Province. He personally led the Linshan City Rescue Team to Xingfu County to participate in the rescue this time."

Cai Jingsheng knew that if he said this was Mayor Su, according to Su Xinghui's age, He Fusheng would only treat Su Xinghui as the deputy mayor of Linshan City, so he specifically said Su Xinghui's party position so that He Fusheng would not make a mistake.

Sure enough, He Fusheng respected Su Xinghui. He hurriedly said, "Mayor Su, you can personally lead the rescue team to Xingfu County, thank you very much."

Su Xinghui said, "Don't say anything else now, hurry up and call someone to unload these supplies."

He Fusheng hurriedly ordered a few people to call someone. Cai Jingsheng said, "Old He, how many casualties are there in the county party committee and county government?"

He Fusheng hadn't mentioned the casualties of the county party committee and county government just now, just skipped it. But Cai Jingsheng knew that their situation here was probably not very good. Didn't he see that one of He Fusheng's arms was broken?

He Fusheng's eyes suddenly became wet. He turned his head and wiped his tears. Cai Jingsheng said solemnly, "Old He, what is the situation?"

He Fusheng choked and said, "Old Meng and Old Qi both sacrificed..."

Old Meng and Old Qi were Meng Jianshe, the county magistrate of Xingfu County, and Qi Dayong, the deputy secretary of the Xingfu County Party Committee. Cai Jingsheng didn't expect them to sacrifice. He asked, "How did they sacrifice?"

He Fusheng was already choked and couldn't speak. It was still the other cadres on the side who told the story. It turned out that when the earthquake occurred, although the county government office building did not collapse, He Fusheng was still hit by cement blocks falling from the ceiling and injured. He fell to the ground and couldn't get up for a while, and the situation was extremely critical.
