Chapter 3942

Xu Zhenlin raised his glass again and said to Su Xinghui, "Mayor Su, I toast you again with this cup. Thank you for saving so many people!"

Su Xinghui said, "Actually, I just did what I should have done. No matter who it was, in that situation, they would have tried their best to do these things. I was just a very ordinary member in the disaster area. It's just that my status gave me higher exposure. In the disaster area, there are countless unsung heroes, and they are the ones more worthy of our admiration!"

Xie Zhibin also raised his glass and said, "Then let's drink to these unsung heroes!"

The three of them drank like this, finishing their cups, chatting while drinking, and drank for a full five or six hours, not finishing until about three o'clock in the afternoon.

Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin were both in their forties, not yet fifty. Although they were more than ten years older than Su Xinghui, their heroism was not reduced at all compared to when they were young. They were also very heroic when drinking. Of course, limited by their drinking capacity, they still couldn't test how much Su Xinghui could drink. On the contrary, Su Xinghui drank two or three liang of wine for each of them.

In the end, Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin were both seventy or eighty percent drunk, but Su Xinghui was still like nothing happened, showing no signs of having drunk at all, which made Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin admire Su Xinghui even more.

Xie Zhibin gave a thumbs up and said, "Mayor Su, you are not only a real man, you are also a good man at drinking. Come here to drink whenever you have nothing to do. I don't have anything else here, but if you want to drink, there's plenty."

Xu Zhenlin also said, "Yes, Mayor Su, come to our military sub-district to drink whenever you have nothing to do in the future. Real men like you are the most welcome among us soldiers!"

Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Fine, then I will come to drink often in the future."

Xie Zhibin sighed and said, "It's a pity, Mayor Su, you didn't become a soldier. If you had become a soldier, you would definitely have been a good soldier, and now you might have been a general!"

Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin's military ranks were both Senior Colonel, one level away from General. Xie Zhibin said that if Su Xinghui had become a soldier, he might have been a general now, which was higher than their military ranks, showing his high esteem for Su Xinghui.

Xu Zhenlin also said, "Yes, if Mayor Su had become a soldier, he would definitely be better than us two pieces of scrap now."

Su Xinghui hurriedly said, "Old Xie, Old Xu, you overstate it!"

Xie Zhibin said, "We are not exaggerating at all. You have this ability, but you are a mayor now, and you can also make contributions to the country."

Xu Zhenlin said, "The contributions Mayor Su has made to the country are much greater than ours."

Su Xinghui said, "Please don't say that. The contributions you soldiers have made to the country are immense. This time in the earthquake disaster area, I saw many soldiers participating in rescue operations. The contributions they made were much greater than those of us local rescue teams. You soldiers are the most lovable people!"

Xie Zhibin smiled and said, "Alright, let's not talk about this. If we talk too much, it's like we are flattering each other. From now on, we are best friends!"

Su Xinghui shook hands with them one by one and said, "Fine, then I will take my leave first. From now on, we are best friends!"

Su Xinghui left the military sub-district, and Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin waved their arms for a long time at the gate of the military sub-district to see Su Xinghui off.

Being able to drink with these two heroic men, Xie Zhibin and Xu Zhenlin, was also a kind of relaxation for Su Xinghui.
