Chapter 578

Xiang Tianlu was quite satisfied with this meal; he praised the food endlessly. However, he did not drink much alcohol, so Su Xinghui had the inn serve him a bowl of rice wine. This wine suited Xiang Tianlu's taste, and he drank quite a bit of it.

After the meal, Su Xinghui booked a room each for Xiang Tianlu and his driver. He said to Xiang Tianlu, "Director Xiang, we are in a township here, and conditions are limited. Please don't mind!"

Xiang Tianlu laughed, "It's fine, Township Head Su. I'm also from a farming background; I can sleep anywhere."

Su Xinghui said, "Then let's do this, Director Xiang. Let your driver rest first, and we can go to the township government to chat for a while."

Xiang Tianlu nodded. He turned and said a few words to the driver, letting the driver rest first, and then he went to the township government together with Su Xinghui, Yu Ruizhi, and Yu Ruoqiu.

Su Xinghui opened his office, invited them in, had them sit down, brewed tea for them, and handed it to them one by one.

Xiang Tianlu asked impatiently, "Director Yu, what exactly is that good investment project you mentioned? Tell me about it."

Yu Ruizhi said, "It's like this: Township Head Su suggested to me that the tourism industry is a good project worth investing in. After listening to him, I also felt it made a lot of sense."

"Tourism industry?" Xiang Tianlu pondered, "Indeed, many of my friends like to travel now. The prospects for this industry are indeed okay, but is this place suitable for tourism?"

Yu Ruizhi said, "My sister and I have been all over Meng Hu Ling Township and played here; the scenery is indeed very good. To the east of Meng Hu Ling Township is a township called Green Ridge Township; the scenery there is also very good. Tomorrow I can accompany you to take a look, and you'll know once you see it."

Xiang Tianlu frowned and said, "Director Yu, you know, there are many places with good scenery, but not every place with good scenery is suitable for development into a tourist attraction. There are many factors, such as infrastructure, transportation, and supporting facilities. If these factors are not in place, the investment required for development would be too high, and the losses would outweigh the gains."

Su Xinghui said with a smile, "Director Xiang, you can rest assured about that. Meng Hu Ling Township is developing very quickly. Take transportation, for example; you must have seen it on your way here. The road from our county seat to Meng Hu Ling is a newly built secondary highway, and the road conditions are quite good. Transportation will only get better in the future."

Xiang Tianlu nodded. He had indeed seen this highway; it was much better than the average rural area. Even in Yuedong Province, not every township had a highway of this grade.

Su Xinghui picked up a copy of the *Hudong Daily* again, handed it to Xiang Tianlu, and said, "Director Xiang, you can take a look at this newspaper. It contains a report on our Provincial Party Secretary's inspection of our township. After reading this report, you will be able to see the speed of Meng Hu Ling's development."

"The Provincial Party Secretary came to inspect?" Xiang Tianlu took the newspaper with skepticism. It was an unusual thing for a Provincial Party Secretary to come to a township to inspect.

He quickly browsed through the report. After finishing, he raised his head in shock. If what was said in this report was true, then the speed of Meng Hu Ling's development was simply astonishing.

Xiang Tianlu asked, "Township Head Su, Director Yu, is everything said in this report true?"
