Chapter 8

Both of them were used to walking on mountain roads, and it only took them more than twenty minutes to walk the two or three kilometers. Fortunately, the terrain of Meng Hu Ling was high, so the climate was cool. Although it was nearly August, the temperature here was not very high, and Su Xinghui only sweated a little bit.

Yezhugou Village, just like its name, was located in a mountain gully, surrounded by mountains on all sides. The mountains were covered with dense forests and bamboo forests. There were many wild boars in the forests, which often ran to the gully to ruin the crops planted by the mountain people. Yezhugou was named after this.

Before liberation, it was said that there were tigers here. However, after liberation, there were occasional incidents of tigers hurting livestock and people. To eliminate the tiger menace, the county government organized a tiger-hunting team and shot several tigers with guns. By now, tigers could no longer be seen. At that time, even many wild boars suffered, and wild boars became increasingly rare until they slowly recovered their population density.

Chen Hongfu came to the village committee, which was a three-room bungalow, built better than most of the houses in the village.

In fact, Su Xinghui was also very familiar with this place. He had run through every village here during his few years in Meng Hu Ling in his previous life. However, he still had to pretend to be here for the first time and followed Chen Hongfu honestly.

Ten meters away from the village committee, Chen Hongfu shouted loudly, "Fang Youcai, Fang Youcai!"

A middle-aged man ran out of the middle room. He was the village party secretary of Yezhugou Village, Fang Youcai. Behind him followed two people, Village Director Zhao Zhongfu and Village Accountant Gao Daping. Seeing Chen Hongfu, they quickly smiled and shouted, "Chen Shuji is here. You came quite early. You've worked hard. Come in and drink some water."

The three of them welcomed Chen Hongfu and Su Xinghui into the office. Fang Youcai asked, "Chen Shuji, who is this young man?"

Chen Hongfu said, "This is Little Su, Su Xinghui, who just came to the Party and Government Office of the township government. He is a graduate of Jiangcheng University. I specially brought him to the village today to recognize the road."

Fang Youcai clicked his tongue, "Jiangcheng University, that's a top student. No wonder Chen Shuji brought him down personally. He will definitely have a bright future."

Zhao Zhongfu and Gao Daping also praised Su Xinghui a few words. Su Xinghui also pretended to see them for the first time and was humble for a few words.
