Chapter 902

Along the way, Hou Guangbi didn't speak. He kept turning his head to look out the car window. His eyes held various complex emotions: longing, joy, sadness, melancholy...

Su Xinghui naturally understood Hou Guangbi's mood. His hometown, unseen for forty-five years, was right before his eyes!

Su Xinghui didn't say anything to Hou Guangbi either. He let Hou Guangbi silently watch the scenery outside the car window.

In December, the fields didn't really have much scenery to look at. At this time, the crops farmers planted in the fields were basically wheat or rapeseed, etc. At this time, they hadn't grown very deep yet, so nothing could be seen.

The farmhouses by the fields were also very dilapidated. This was a very ordinary scene of the Chinese countryside in the 1980s and 1990s. However, Hou Guangbi watched it very intently. He hadn't seen such scenery for over forty years either.

It wasn't until the motorcade was close to Pengjiawan Township that the cars on the road increased. They were all trucks coming and going, trucks carrying vegetables, large and small, and even hand-tractors. Such a scene caused some changes in Hou Guangbi's eyes, and his eyes held a bit more of an inquisitive look.

He turned his head and asked, "Is this almost at Pengjiawan, where you are the township head?"

Su Xinghui nodded and said, "Yes, the vegetables planted in Pengjiawan have matured. Now there are many distributors coming to collect vegetables every day, so there will be more cars."

Hou Guangbi nodded. The motorcade drove for a few more kilometers and arrived within the territory of Pengjiawan Township. The fields by the roadside were a scene of intense activity. Mature cabbages were being cut down one by one by farmers, put into large plastic bags, and then transported to the side of the highway one by one, waiting to be loaded.

Those white greenhouses were particularly eye-catching in the green fields. Hou Guangbi said, "Are these the greenhouses you built?"

Su Xinghui said, "Yes, they are greenhouses built for planting off-season vegetables. This should be relatively common in France, right?"

Hou Guangbi said, "Yes, our Hou family's industries also include agriculture, and of course, we also have greenhouses. However, we mainly use greenhouses to grow fresh flowers. The French demand for fresh flowers is very large."
