Chapter 123: Happy Times 5
After hearing her words, my face lit up with a smile as I smiled at her.
Shangguan Yun was quick; I had just finished washing up when he arrived. Huiqing told us her boyfriend would be back today, so we planned to go to the station to pick him up. Shangguan Yun and I, having nothing else to do, tagged along to fetch Huiqing's boyfriend, saying we'd bring him back for a meal together.
After we picked up Huiqing's boyfriend, she introduced him to us: his name is Wang Xin, a bright and steady young man—after all, he's a college student, unlike Shangguan Yun, who's just a kid.
Seeing her boyfriend, Huiqing snuggled into his arms like a little bird, acting all demure.
"Look at Huiqing—so well-behaved. You should learn from her. Don't always be so overbearing, okay?" Shangguan Yun watched them, all sweet, and pulled me into his arms as we walked.
But I didn't stay as meekly in his embrace as Huiqing did; I kept feeling that with so many people on the street, cuddling wasn't proper.
Wang Xin took us to Little Farmhouse for a meal; the place had a distinctive farmhouse charm, its decor evoking a rural feel that was comforting, with everything centered around the farmhouse theme.
"Since I had some matters at home, I only came over today. I'd long heard from Huiqing that Xuanxuan would be visiting, so today I'll do my best as host—please don't stand on ceremony." Said Wang Xin while we sat in the private room waiting for the food.
"Don't worry, I won't be polite." I said, being impolite.
After saying that, I added: "If you manage to win over such a great girl, you'll have to treat me to KFC later."
Wang Xin quickly nodded, saying it's a small thing, no problem.
When the meal arrived, Shangguan Yun sat beside me and whispered, "You like this? Next time I'll take you to eat it."
I smiled at him; he picked up a piece of meat and brought it to my lips, saying, "Come, eat a piece of meat—you're so thin."
I stared at them with wide eyes, while Wang Xin and Huiqing also looked at us; not eating would be wrong, but eating would seem ambiguous—truly a predicament.
PS: Well, it's late; I finished typing and climbed up to update.
Actually, Yangyang has read every one of your comments.
Previously, Arrogant Girl Living with School Hunk had ten updates a day, but now this story only gets four updates a day.
Yangyang has also chased other stories and knows waiting is painful, but Yangyang can't update more.
Even with four updates a day, the word count isn't small; if you read the four updates together, it shouldn't feel lacking.
Yangyang updates daily at around 1–2 PM, 5–6 PM, 8–9 PM, and about 1 AM.
So if you check after 9 PM, you'll definitely see all four updates, and you won't need to read them separately.
If you think this story updates slowly, Yangyang can only apologize.
Actually, compared to other authors, it's not that slow; Tencent has a VIP authors group where some people update even more slowly.
Yangyang should be about average, I guess. Hehe...
Also, there are indeed many typos; Yangyang usually types late at night, gets tired and sleepy, and skips proofreading.
Sorry about that, but as long as you can understand, it's fine.
Hehe...
Off to sleep.
