1270. Chapter 1270: As If Strangers 10

I'd rather we two never see or hear each other; then, naturally, nothing would matter.

When I could bear it no longer, I stopped and shouted at Shangguan: "Shangguan Yun, what exactly do you want to do?"

"I'm just walking, what do you think I can do?" Shangguan Yun, however, had the air of a Liu Mang, lighting a cigarette, puffing away, tilting his head to look at me and ask.

Yeah, what can he do? This road isn't my family's; anyone can walk it—do I have the right to stop him?

Suddenly remembering, I hadn't returned the card he gave me, so I opened my bag, took out the card, and handed it to him, saying, "Here's your card back."

Since we've already broken up, I have no need to keep his card anymore; I simply don't have the right to hold onto it for him any longer.

Shangguan Yun didn't take the card; he just stared at me with a shocked expression, saying nothing.

"I don't have that much time; I still need to go home." I said coldly.

As I said that, I felt a cold sneer rise in my heart—how ironic, truly ironic...

When he first handed me the card, what was his mood like? And now, what is it like?

He delayed taking the card, merely fixing his gaze on my hand, glaring at it intensely.

I also said nothing, just kept holding out the card to him until he finally took it...

"And your ring?" After a long while, Shangguan Yun spat out these words from between his teeth.

Only when he asked did I realize that I wasn't wearing my ring anymore—and he still had his on.

We had agreed that neither of us would ever take off this ring, no matter what happened, but the night I said we were breaking up, I had already taken it off.

We've already broken up—why would I still be wearing it?

"It's in my bag; if you want it, I'll return it to you." So I pulled the ring out of my bag and handed it to Shangguan Yun together with the card.
