1291. Chapter 1291 Despicable People Prevail 1
"Isn't that impossible? Is there still a chance to make up?" Huiqing seemed to feel sorry for me.
"It's impossible, I never eat the grass that grows back." I said coldly again.
"Sigh... what exactly did you two break up over?" Huiqing sighed again and said.
"I'm not talking about it; next time I'm in the mood I'll tell you. I'll hang up now, I'm about to head back." After saying that, I hung up the phone.
After I hung up, I noticed Shangguan Yun glaring at me viciously.
I turned my head away and ignored him.
I pretended not to see; not seeing meant not seeing.
Afterwards, Shangguan Yun didn't say a word; likewise, I didn't say a word either—neither of us spoke.
After leaving the hospital, when Shangguan Yun said he would send me back, I refused, saying: "No need, I can go back myself. Thanks for the thought."
I'm quite used to speaking so distantly.
"Well... okay then. I'll call you a car." Shangguan Yun said and then called a car for me.
I thought he would insist on sending me home, but I didn't expect this time to be so straightforward.
He let me go home so readily, yet I felt a sense of loss, empty and uncomfortable.
Watching him cling to me so persistently, I also felt somewhat stifled; sigh, people are always so contradictory.
"The car's here, get in. Take your medicine on time when you get home, and remember to cover yourself with the blanket when you sleep—you always like to kick off the covers." Shangguan Yun said with a light smile.
When I heard those words, my heart fluttered slightly, feeling a bit painful and somewhat bewildered.
I didn't speak, just glanced at Shangguan Yun lightly and then got into the car.
After getting in the car, I didn't dare look back at Shangguan Yun until the car had driven far away; then I mustered the courage to lean against the window and look out, vaguely able to see Shangguan Yun's silhouette—he was hailing a car. Where would he go? Would he go home?
I didn't care about him anymore; whether he went home or not seemed irrelevant to me.
