Chapter 15: Phone Call

But heaven knows how sharp they are; every one of them eyes me with a strange look.

It made my scalp tingle, and I yelped, grabbing the washbasin and dashing to the bathroom.

When I returned, there was another round of teasing; they didn't let up even after the lights went out.

These gossip-loving girls, having caught a chance to hear rumors, wouldn't let it go.

No choice; I had to tell them the truth.

When I finished, they snorted "Tsk" and then quieted down.

After they quieted down, Lili chimed in with a teasing remark: "Xuanxuan, do you really feel nothing for Shangguan Yun at all?"

That question really hit me where it hurts. Yeah, do I really feel nothing for him? He's so outstanding, so charming.

If I truly felt nothing for him, then I ought to feel disgusted by his recent actions toward me. Why do I feel a bit of enjoyment instead? Right now I'm restless and annoyed. Feelings are unpredictable, utterly bewildering. They come and go, impossible to stop; naturally I don't want to fall for that playboy Shangguan Yun.

So, after thinking a long while, I blurted: "I have to admit he's charming and attractive, but his feelings are more than I can bear."

"It's Li Feng. Don't bring up Shangguan Yun later, or he'll get unhappy again." I told them. After hanging up, I answered the call and heard Li Feng's voice: "Honey, why didn't you reply to my message just now?"

Although I rarely call Li Feng, we still message each other every day. I can't say I really like him, but after all he's my boyfriend, so I do have some feelings.

"I was just doing laundry," I said offhandedly, making it up.

"Oh. Honey, I miss you." Li Feng seemed to believe my words.

"If you miss me, look at the stars outside the window," I said, glancing at the stars outside.

"Hehe, you always say that." Li Feng chuckled. You could hear the deep longing in his voice.

"What else should I say, have you fly over?" I said playfully.

"If I could fly there, I'd definitely fly over to lie beside you and hold you while we sleep," Li Feng joked too.

"You wish, holding me while we sleep, hum…" I said dismissively. The dormmates said I was flirting.

"Anyway, it's Friday tomorrow, a week has finally passed. Great, honey, I'll come to your school to pick you up tomorrow." Li Feng said. You could tell he was looking forward to it.

"Mm. Then come early." After I said that, another call came in; seeing it was from Shangguan Yun, I didn't hang up.

I continued flirting with Li Feng.
