I ran up to him and flung myself into his arms, asking, 'Why are you standing at the door? Why aren't you asleep yet?' Seeing his exhausted face, I suddenly felt a pang of heartache.

Shangguan Yun held me tightly, his voice choked, saying, 'I thought you weren't coming back, I thought you'd leave with him and abandon me.' His words lightly tugged at my heartstrings; I realized my departure had caused him such anxiety.
