Sometimes I really can't figure out Shangguan Yun—he appears carefree and nonchalant, but sometimes a hint of sadness shows in his eyes.

After returning home, I headed to my room. Mom had already prepared the meals; every Friday she prepares them early and waits for me to come home to eat, and she always makes what I like.

"Mom, I have something to do and need to go out for a bit; you don't need to wait for me to eat. I might come back late tonight, maybe around ten." I said this to Mom as I walked out of the room.

"What's so urgent? Eat first, then go."

I'm stuck here, not knowing how to tell Mom why I'm in such a hurry—I can't exactly say Shangguan Yun is waiting for me downstairs.

"Um... a classmate just had a birthday and invited me to dinner, so I'll be back late tonight." My brain raced a few times before I finally came up with an excuse.
