Not long after, Shangguan Yun came over carrying lots of things. Whenever we bought food, he was afraid I was a starving ghost reborn, so the more the better, and then if I couldn't finish it he'd waste a lot; sometimes I'd have the waiter pack it up to take home for Liu Xi to eat or to bring to school.

Shangguan Yun didn't sit opposite me but beside me, then he stretched out an arm to put around my shoulder, glanced at the time and said, 'Time really flies, it's almost half past nine.'

It was already half an hour until ten; although we said we'd go home at ten, we always arrived half an hour late, and we'd gotten used to it.

'Shangguan Yun, I heard you used to be quite the playboy, dating many girls at once?' I asked, deliberately probing him.

Hearing his words, I felt much more relaxed; actually thinking about it, it's true—since Shangguan Yun and I got together, he hardly ever skips class anymore, he attends five days a week on time; occasionally he has something come up during evening study and goes out, but when he's at school he never stays out alone overnight, unless he sometimes brings me along, then he'll take me back to his place to stay overnight. Time was getting close, so I urged him to take me home; he then lazily and slowly got up, reluctantly heading out, hailed a vehicle and got in.

Before we even reached the building entrance, I asked the driver to stop, knowing that if we got out he'd surely want to hug and kiss again, and it wouldn't do to be seen like that downstairs. After saying goodbye with a kiss to Shangguan Yun, I told him to go home and rest early, then I left.
