2216. Chapter 2216 Shangguan Yun's Childhood 4

"How did your dad put it, Shangguan Yun? No matter what, these things are already in the past—try to move on. Don't be so sad; being sad doesn't help, right?" I said, still looking at Shangguan Yun with heartache.

I know Shangguan Yun must be feeling awful right now, and I also know that, although he hates his mother in his heart...

But I also believe that Shangguan Yun still longs for maternal love.

"Back then, Dad even lied to me, saying Mom was abroad; Dad probably thought I was too young, afraid my tender heart couldn't bear the trauma." Shangguan Yun looked at me with a bitter smile and said.

"So, did you believe it then?" I asked, looking at Shangguan Yun.

Shangguan Yun still shook his head with a bitter smile and said: "Back then I was too young to understand anything, and no one ever mentioned my mother in front of me—not once—so I believed whatever Dad said."

Sigh, hearing Shangguan Yun say that, I felt a pang of sympathy—what a poor child.

Although his dad's lie was well‑meaning, Shangguan Yun is truly a pitiful child.

For a child who has lacked maternal love since childhood, that kind of motherly love cannot be replaced by anything else.

"Then later, how old were you when you found out? Has your mother never come to see you? Why doesn't she visit you?" I asked concernedly, and I was also curious why Shangguan Yun's mother has always been unwilling to see him.

Even if they're divorced, shouldn't they make time to see their own child?

Is Shangguan Yun's mother's heart made of iron?

"Why doesn't she come see me? I really don't know—I've never even asked her." Shangguan Yun still said with a bitter smile.

"Has she ever come to see you? And then, how did you find out—was it from what your dad said?" Seeing that Shangguan Yun didn't answer my question, I went on to ask.
