2221. Chapter 2221 Shangguan Yun's Childhood 9

Shangguan Yun still shook his head and said, "No, back then I didn't know—I really didn't know what was going on between my mother and that man."

"Then how did you find out later?" I asked anxiously.

"At that time, I started calling her 'Mom.' When I called her Mom, Gu Han Yu looked at me with a very strange gaze, and I felt a bit strange being looked at by her. So I asked my mother, 'Who is that girl?' but my mother didn't say anything. I also looked at Gu Han Yu strangely; in the end, Gu Han Yu stared at me for a while and then laughed. Everyone found her laugh puzzling. Then we sat down together to eat, and I didn't ask my mother; at that time, I felt that just staying by her side was fine, and I also thought that when we went back, my mother would come home with us, but in the end we didn't go home together." Shangguan Yun said.

"You never suspected anything then?" I asked carefully.

Now Shangguan Yun looks pitiful and sad enough; I'm afraid that if I say something wrong by accident, I might unintentionally hurt him.

"Back then, I didn't understand anything—how could I, at my age? And just being able to see my mother was such a happy thing; how could I worry about all that?" Shangguan Yun said with a bitter smile.

"Oh." I nodded foolishly.

"Back then, Gu Han Yu sat beside me, we chatted together, and both of them looked at us with that affectionate, indulgent gaze—of course, Gu Han Yu's father definitely did not." Shangguan Yun said.

"Then, did Gu Han Yu's father know about your relationship with your mother at that time?" I said, looking at Shangguan Yun's sad eyes.

"I don't know, I really don't know—back then I was just focused on playing with Gu Han Yu, and I was so young, how would I know? Even now I don't know whether Gu Han Yu's father knew back then that I was my mother's son." Shangguan Yun still gave a bitter smile.
