2421. Chapter 2421 The True Purpose 8

"Because, Shangguan Yun knows my parents are very good, they care for us and are very considerate, and at the same time, when Shangguan Yun was at our home, my parents were also very good to him. He once said that my parents' concern for him far exceeded yours for him. So he likes staying at our home; he once even wanted to take my parents as his godparents. But my mother did not accept." I said this in one breath, calmly.

"Why not?" Shangguan Yun's mother asked immediately after I finished speaking.

"Because, although my mother knows that Shangguan Yun's parents treat him poorly, she says that no matter how uncaring parents may be toward their children, there is always a reason, because there is a saying: 'Parents' hearts are pitiful.' So my mother says that regardless of how parents behave, they always mean well for their own children, and she also believes that one day Shangguan Yun will surely receive his parents' love and care; therefore, my mother did not accept him as her godson." I said this all at once, calmly.

As a result, Shangguan Yun's mother fell silent again after hearing me, her bright eyes fixed straight ahead, saying nothing.

It seemed as if she were thinking about something.

I also did not continue speaking; I just quietly looked at Shangguan Yun's mother.

Looking at Shangguan Yun's mother, she seemed to often furrow her brows tightly, and at times let out faint sighs.

Although these were subtle, I kept my gaze fixed on her, so I could notice them.

After a long while, Shangguan Yun's mother said to me: "But he hates me now; I called him, but he wouldn't answer." She said this with a slight sigh.

"That's because you came to my house and caused a scene, so Shangguan Yun hates you. If it weren't for that, I think that if you just showed him a bit more concern and gave a little more maternal compensation, I believe your relationship would quickly become very good." I said this from the heart.
