248. Chapter 248: Bland Jealousy 2
When I finally found Shangguan Yun, he happened to be holding a stick, a cigarette dangling from his lips, chatting with a beautiful woman.
Seeing me arrive, he hurried over with a grin, wrapped his arms around me and said, "You finally came, are you tired?"
"I'm exhausted, life's tough, there's nothing to be done—who's like you, smoking and flirting with girls all the time." I leaned weakly into Shangguan Yun's embrace, glancing at that girl; she wasn't much to look at either.
"Honey, are you jealous?" Shangguan Yun said with a smug look.
It seemed seeing me jealous didn't faze him; he was actually pleased. I gave him a sideways glance and said, "I'm not jealous, I'm just a bit disappointed."
Shangguan Yun didn't speak, just looked at me smiling. I lifted my head, glanced at him and said, "I'm so tired, I want to smoke too." I stared blankly at the cigarette nearly burnt out in his mouth, wondering why—ever since I smoked with Lili last time, seeing Shangguan Yun smoke now makes me want to smoke as well; could I have become addicted too? It's a little scary.
"No, what are you thinking, smoking as a girl? You're not allowed." Shangguan Yun insisted. I objected, a bit resentful: "Why won't you let me smoke? Some of your ex-girlfriends smoked too, and you never stopped them." I felt a bit unsettled inside.
Shangguan Yun heard me, didn't get angry, just his expression shifted slightly, he tossed the cigarette butt and moved closer, saying, "Well, I've slept with my former girlfriends too."
Hearing Shangguan Yun's words, my face flushed instantly; I realized he was quite experienced, and it really wasn't wise to argue with him.
I pinched his waist hard and said, "If you like it, go find your ex-girlfriends to sleep with. I'm leaving." As I spoke, I tried to break free from his embrace, but Shangguan Yun held me tight, his face darkening: "Don't ever say that again—those are just my past flings. Why bring it up? Didn't you promise me you wouldn't mention the past?"
Maybe I'm being too petty; I shouldn't dwell on the past. Everyone has a past—I know full well that's his history, and he's changed now—but sometimes just thinking about it makes me feel uneasy.
