Chapter 288: There's a Reason for Everything 5

When it was about time, I followed Shangguan Yun to school.

When I arrived at school, it was almost time for class, so I went back to the dormitory, put my things there, and then went to the classroom.

As soon as I got to the classroom, I slumped over my desk, listless and weak.

Not long after class started, Shangguan Yun messaged me saying he had to go out for something.

Seeing his message, I knew he definitely wasn't going out for anything good; otherwise, under normal circumstances, Shangguan Yun wouldn't go out.

I asked him what he was going out for, and sure enough, Shangguan Yun said Tingting had run into trouble outside, and he was going to deal with it.

In my anger, I ignored him. Maybe I'm being petty and selfish, or maybe I'm just the type to hold grudges. But I couldn't stand Shangguan Yun skipping class to help that Tingting, no matter whose sister she is.

After an evening passed, I felt stifled inside; although Shangguan Yun had sent me many messages at first, I didn't reply to any, even though he clearly knew I was angry and unhappy, he still went out.

After that, he didn't send any more; maybe he sent them when he first got in the car, and then went to handle his business when he arrived.

Even after class ended, Shangguan Yun didn't send any more messages or calls. I kept feeling like something was missing, feeling awful, just awful.

Silly me, after washing up early I just lay in bed. Anyway, I felt terrible.

After a while, my phone rang; it was Shangguan Yun calling.

I lazily picked up and said, "What's up?" My tone was ice cold.

"You're still mad, can't you not be like this? I really have no choice—I won't be going back tonight; let me explain properly tomorrow when I return, okay?" Shangguan Yun spoke with a tone full of endless helplessness.

"Do whatever you want, if you're not coming back then don't. If it's nothing, I'm hanging up." My tone was cold, I was extremely disappointed, really, really disappointed. I knew Shangguan Yun wasn't coming back tonight because he was with Tingting. No matter how magnanimous I am, I can't tolerate my boyfriend being with my rival, let alone spending the night together.

I gritted my teeth, clenched my phone tightly, and tears fell silently.
