After finishing my bath, I stood up, put on my pajamas, and walked out; Shangguan Yun was sitting alone on the floor, already having drunk a lot of alcohol. The whole room was filled with the smell of liquor and smoke.

Suddenly I felt a sour ache in my heart again. Shangguan Yun was right; he had his own helplessness. On one side were his brothers, on the other his girlfriend—both sides were hard to please. I am his girlfriend; I should try to understand him. But I didn't; I only kept blaming him, losing my temper at him, and willfully running out to make him worry and look for me.

Compared to some girlfriends, I am really inadequate; knowing full well what kind of person Shangguan Yun is, since I'm with him, I should accommodate him and be understanding.

Seeing me come out, Shangguan Yun looked up and said, "You're done bathing; come over and sit down for a drink together."

Seeing the empty bottles in front of Shangguan Yun, I knew he had drunk quite a bit.

I slowly walked over and sat beside him, saying, "Don't drink anymore; I won't drink either—let's take a bath and go to sleep." I spoke with a thick nasal tone; I really had a cold.

"Are you still angry?" Shangguan Yun said, putting his arms around me. I shook my head and said, "I'm not angry anymore; I know I was being willful, and I had just drunk, which is why I said those things. I know you have your own helplessness. So I'm not angry anymore."

Shangguan Yun gazed at me with deep affection, kissed my lips, his breath heavy with smoke and alcohol. I tried to respond; I had already fallen in love with his kiss.

As we slept, I leaned against his chest as usual, quietly listening to his heartbeat. Suddenly the phone ringing shattered the quiet night; Shangguan Yun grabbed the phone, glanced at it, furrowed his brows and hung up without answering. After it rang again, he simply turned the phone off.

I asked, a little worried, "What's wrong? Who called?"

"Never mind him, let's just go to sleep, okay?" Shangguan Yun said, trying to keep his tone light, but the more he did so, the more I worried.

"Yun, tell me, who was that call just now, please?" I leaned against his chest, asking lightly, but my tone revealed an urgent need to know.

"It was A Chun calling; forget about him." Shangguan Yun kissed my cheek and said.
