Chapter 41: Being Overly Sentimental 2

~3 min read 405 words

Tingting was notorious for being domineering at school, having allied herself with her brother and Shangguan Yun, and she used her influence to bully others.

"You, what are you doing at his house?" I was somewhat stunned, pointing at Shangguan Yun's house as I asked.

"Yun asked me to come," Tingting continued speaking in a coquettish, affected tone.

Just then, Shangguan Yun leisurely walked out from inside, lazily saying, "Who is it?"

When Shangguan Yun stood at the doorway, Tingting deliberately leaned her body into his embrace, her alluring manner making me feel utterly ashamed; I shouldn't have come, he was enjoying a life of luxury with a kept beauty at home, while I thought he was ill and hadn't recovered, resting at home, and I kindly came to see him, even bringing fruit. It turns out I was being overly sentimental.

"Xuanxuan, how did you come?" Shangguan Yun saw me and was obviously surprised.

"My sister heard you were ill, so she dragged me along to see you… and she even brought fruit for you." Before I could speak, Liu Xi spoke for me.

Now I wish I could find a bottomless hole to crawl into and never come out; I've really embarrassed myself to the point of facing my grandmother's house, and they simply don't need me to visit him.

Shangguan Qu, upon hearing Liu Xi's words, was obviously pleased, his face perpetually wearing that trademark smile.

"It seems I've disturbed you; pretend I never came." After saying that, he grabbed Liu Xi and turned to leave.

I faintly felt Shangguan Yun step out from behind me, but I pulled Liu Xi away quickly, leaving his sight.

As I walked to the elevator and waited, I couldn't help but look back, hoping to see his silhouette, hoping he would chase after me to give an explanation, but even after entering the elevator I still didn't see Shangguan Yun's shadow; my heart turned cold, for to him I was merely a passerby, just a fleeting interest.

Recalling that scene, my heart suddenly ached; I unconsciously noticed liquid on my hand—it was my tears. I actually shed tears for him, which is unbelievable; I had thought that in this life I would only cry for Haohua, that only he could make me cry, and I had kept my heart sealed for so long, never expecting that now I would shed my precious tears for him.
