"A Yun, you study so well, what does your family do?" Lao Ma asked casually.

Shangguan Yun gave an embarrassed smile, and I hurriedly said, "Lao Ma, that's other people's business; why are you asking so much?"

"It's fine, my parents aren't home, they're away. Hehe..." Shangguan Yun said with a smile.

"Isn't that pointless? If they're not home, they're definitely away; I don't even need to ask to know that Shangguan Yun's parents aren't home—they must be doing business elsewhere, right?"

"Oh, you're home alone, what a good kid; being home alone with no one to look after you, yet you study so well—like A Xi and Xuanxuan; I used to constantly remind myself to study hard, study hard, but my grades were always so poor." Lao Ma sighed.

I was really nervous; if Lao Ma found out that Shangguan Yun was a Liu Mang and ranked behind me, I don't know what she would think.

I don't know if Lao Ma will chop me up.

"Hehe..." Shangguan Yun was at a loss for words; after all, he knew his own background, what could he say? He could only give a silly smile.

"Lao Ma, we're just eating; why bring that up again?" Liu Xi said, dissatisfied.

I, however, didn't say anything; I was really afraid that if I spoke now I'd make a mistake, so I obediently stayed quiet, using my mouth to eat, not to talk.

"Okay, okay, A Yun, eat more. Come often to Auntie's house for meals. You're home alone, you probably aren't eating anything nutritious—these days even outside food isn't nutritious, what a poor child." Lao Ma actually felt sorry for Shangguan Yun.

"Heh, actually eating isn't a problem; it's just that when I come home at night, the house is freezing cold, it's so desolate." Shangguan Yun said somewhat sadly.

After he said that, I felt sorry for him again, my sympathetic gaze fixed on him.

At that moment, Shangguan Yun was also looking at me, giving me a comforting smile.
