Fortunately, I swapped phones back with Shangguan Yun. Shangguan Yun said it's a critical period regarding Liu Xi's matter; there might still be some developments. So he said to temporarily swap the phones back.

Originally, I wasn't used to using his phone; the Nokia phone is especially hard to use, feeling particularly complicated.

When I used his phone, I hardly used it at all—I rarely sent messages, wasn't used to it, only making and receiving calls, making me feel like an old lady.

Having a phone that only makes and receives calls, now that I've swapped it back, I'm much more used to it.

So I used the home phone to call Mom, having already prepared myself for a scolding.

I never expected that, as soon as I got through to Mom's phone, she said, "Xuanxuan, you're only just getting up now? This morning I woke up and saw you weren't up, I had something to do and went out, so I can't make lunch for you at noon—go out and eat with Liu Xi."

"If you're going to a friend's house for a wedding feast, don't you usually go in the evening? Why go so early?" I understood even less.

Normally, when going to a friend's house for a drink, people go at noon or night, eat a bit, and come back; Mom went so early, and even said she might come back late at night.

"Come help out. Okay, I'm busy now—gotta go. Remember to eat, and with Liu Xi." Mom said and hung up.

If I had known, I wouldn't have done this. It would have been great to let Lin Chen come over too—then today our home would belong to the four of us.

It made me rush back anxiously, afraid Mom would come looking and not find me.
