Chapter 1277: Confirming the Gaze

~34 min read 6,702 words

"Attention—Salute—"

This was an ordinary morning, yet it was the most ordinary and simultaneously the most special of the countless flag-raising ceremonies the Red Star Factory Guard Team had executed.

Because starting today, all disciplinary units under the Red Star Factory Security Group would undergo a major reorganization.

The original establishments of the Guard Team, Patrol Team, Fire Brigade, and Inspection Brigade were abolished.

Based on the existing disciplinary units, three teams directly under the Group were reorganized: the Red Star Steel Group Security General Brigade, Fire General Brigade, and Inspection General Brigade.

Also starting today, the Security Group took the first step in self-transformation, achieving a new breakthrough in the separation of management and execution, and the professionalization of operational teams.

According to the "Red Star Factory Security Work Management Measures" proposed by Li Xuewu, Head of the Red Star Factory Security Group, and passed and implemented by the Management Committee, except for special circumstances, security agency staff would no longer participate in frontline operational work...

The separation of management and execution was the first step for the Red Star Factory to achieve group-based operations and reorganize administrative management, and it was also a key step for professional management and execution.

Following the Security Group, operational management departments such as the Sales Office and Production Office would also gradually achieve the separation of management and execution, clarifying management and operational responsibilities.

In other words, just like the Security Group, the relationship between organizational management and frontline execution—the relationship between the brain and the hands—would become clear and controllable.

Many people sensed that the sky over the Security Group had changed.

The large-group-level organizational structure, which had only been merged for a little over a year, was once again facing the fate of being broken up and reorganized, just as written in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms": things long divided must unite, and things long united must divide.

Breaking up the structure—the Security Group was to be split into security work and inspection work; this was inevitable, and Deputy Director Su had been pushing for this work since taking office.

Breaking up operations—the establishment of three professional teams was a result that met the needs of the era and the work, and also met the organizational management needs of the Management Committee.

The breaking up was done, but everyone did not yet know how they would be combined next.

Rumors were mostly guesses; one moment they said an Inspection Office would be established, the next they said it would be merged into the Organization Office, and no one had yet received a conclusion from the leadership.

The Sales Office was the same; in response to management and operational needs, it had taken the lead in establishing the Jinmen Trade Management Center, and subsequently prepared to establish the International Business Department.

Under Li Xuewu's suggestion and support, the Sales Office had also experimentally established the Red Star Automobile (Beijing) Sales Branch.

In the past half-year, the conditions for the separation of management and operations had become very mature, and it was time to build and cultivate a professional sales team.

Therefore, after the Security Group achieved the separation of management and execution, the Sales Office would also adjust personnel relations, clarify the relationship between management and operations, and achieve sales professionalization.

All operational departments of the Red Star Factory would begin group-based and professional organizational reforms, not just the Security Group and the Sales Office.

This would unfold in forms such as establishing professional factories, branches, and professional teams.

It was just that compared to the Security Group, other administrative offices and departments did not have such solemn ritualistic feelings and relatively concrete procedures.

Removing plaques, hanging plaques, changing uniforms...

On Wednesday, April 2nd, Li Xuewu, accompanied by Wang Xiaoqin, Yu De, Tai Juncai, Zhou Zechuan, and others, Deputy Heads of the Security Group, attended the plaque-hanging and uniform-changing ceremony of the Fire General Brigade.

"Two years ago, the Red Star Factory did not have a professional fire brigade."

Li Xuewu stood on the small playground, watching the fire brigade staff and workers who were lining up to change uniforms, and said with emotion: "Time really flies—"

"I remember when I was just transferred to Beijing, this was still a small courtyard," Yu De smiled and took up the conversation, looked at Li Xuewu and asked: "It used to be the auto repair station of the Automobile Transport Team, right?"

"Yes, the auto repair station." Li Xuewu looked back at the gate and pointed his finger at the opposite side: "It's directly facing the Transport Team."

"From nothing to something, from something to excellence."

Yu De nodded and said: "Including the Steel Rolling Factory, all branch factories of the Red Star Factory not only have professional fire brigades, but have also established and improved fire management systems, and have professional training systems for emergency management."

"To this day, I can still proudly tell my peers that in the entire industry and the entire system, our Red Star Factory is at the forefront of emergency management."

He looked at Li Xuewu and said earnestly and admiringly: "This is all thanks to your foresight, Secretary-General, that we have today's excellent situation."

"As this is the last time I am conducting research as the main person in charge of security work, I won't be modest with you, hahaha."

Li Xuewu smiled at Yu De, joked with everyone, and then said earnestly: "It is the credit of the collective, and the glory of unity."

"I very much agree with Deputy Director Yu's words," Wang Xiaoqin said with a smile: "Only after coming into contact with the work of the Security Group did I realize how hard-won today's achievements are. Saying it is the merit of your leadership is not an exaggeration."

"This baton of mine is to be handed over to you. Whether it is a success or a failure will be verified by you," Li Xuewu looked at Wang Xiaoqin with a smile and said frankly: "Humans are not sages, who can be without faults? Please criticize and correct my mistakes."

"Secretary-General is being modest. I will still hold a learning attitude and copy your homework, hahaha—"

Wang Xiaoqin and Li Xuewu, with the cooperation and support of Yu De, frankly began to "be modest" in front of the other two Deputy Heads.

Of course, in the eyes of Tai Juncai and Zhou Zechuan, this was definitely not modesty; this was commercial mutual flattery, acting for them to see.

Amidst the impassioned accompaniment music, Li Xuewu handed the new flag to Comrade Cao Zhiqiang, the General Brigade Captain of the Fire General Brigade, who was wearing a new uniform and new badge.

At the invitation of General Brigade Captain Cao Zhiqiang, Li Xuewu delivered an inspiring speech to the firefighters who were performing the uniform-changing ceremony today.

For this last inspection activity, Li Xuewu appeared very relaxed.

In fact, from the moment he served as the Director of the Management Committee Office and leaped into the Management Committee to serve as Secretary-General, the Security Group had already entered the post-Li Xuewu era.

Wang Xiaoqin's sudden intervention, serving concurrently as the First Deputy Head of the Security Group as a representative of the three branches, caused many people to give up this unnecessary hope.

Li Xuewu did not immediately hand over the power in his hands, which also meant that the change of the main person in charge of the Security Group would not cause any ripples.

Even if two Deputy Heads were transferred in, it would not affect the overall situation in the slightest.

This was the opinion of the Management Committee and also Li Xuewu's will; Wang Xiaoqin, the representative of the three branches, succeeding as the person in charge of the Security Group had become a foregone conclusion.

And Wang Xiaoqin coming to the Red Star Factory for a concurrent post also received the support of the Garrison District and the Third Garrison Regiment; this was a win-win situation and also mature experience.

With the help of other comrades from the Third Garrison Regiment, she had more time to understand the Red Star Factory and the security work of the Red Star Factory.

Director Li's assassination and Li Xuewu's voluntary resignation accelerated the pace of Wang Xiaoqin taking control of the Security Group and completing the work handover as soon as possible.

Coming out of the courtyard of the Fire General Brigade, Li Xuewu called Wang Xiaoqin to stroll back, without leaving anyone else behind.

And the three people, including Yu De, all knew clearly that during the intense work handover process, Li Xuewu must have many words to entrust to his successor.

As for whether Yu De would overthink it, feeling that Li Xuewu did not trust him, did not support his promotion, and felt dissatisfied and resentful for not being able to take the post of the person in charge of the Security Group.

Regarding this point, Li Xuewu found it hard to say, because the human heart is unpredictable.

But there was one point he was very certain about, which was that Yu De had self-knowledge.

Su Weide was not a leader who was easy to get along with, and the Security Group was facing structural reform; this position of person in charge was not easy to hold.

Yu De should be very clear that he did not have the qualifications and trump cards to gain Su Weide's support and appreciation, let alone the confidence to gain the support of the group.

He was not a character who could shoulder heavy responsibilities; his role as Director of the Office for many years had long ago smoothed out his edges, and he no longer had any sharpness.

And Wang Xiaoqin was different; she was a drawn sharp blade, not afraid of Su Weide, this old turtle, in the slightest.

Even if he had a turtle shell, he would not dare to stick his head out or stretch his claws.

Just at the end of last month, that is, March 30th, the "People's Daily" published the latest instructions from the Chairman:

The Management Committee has three basic experiences: one is having representatives of reform cadres, one is having representatives of the three branches, and one is having representatives of reform masses, achieving the "three-in-one" combination of reform.

This temporary organizational management institution of the Management Committee, the "three-in-one" combination, has different situations in different departments and different periods.

But as far as the current Red Star Factory Management Committee is concerned, Li Huade, the representative of reform cadres, is undoubtedly the one, as he fired the first shot of the Red Star Factory's great learning reform.

There is no need to mention the representatives of the three branches.

The Third Garrison Regiment and the Red Star Factory have close ties and close cooperation, having cooperation and exchanges in many aspects such as military training, security and defense, and organizational construction; Wang Xiaoqin coming to the Red Star Factory received the support of all members of the Management Committee.

The last point, representatives of reform masses, this condition is somewhat special.

Because when the Red Star Factory was carrying out the great learning activity and production work reform, the masses participated in various forms and as a collective identity, and it was carried out in an organized and disciplined manner.

Therefore, Li Huade also overcame all dissenting views and, citing the medals on Li Xuewu's body as a reason, pushed him to serve as the Secretary-General of the Management Committee.

Su Weide was now very uncomfortable.

First was the change of the person in charge of the Security Group, which had already passed relevant resolutions before he even arrived, making him very passive.

Second was Li Xuewu's transfer to the Management Committee Office and Wang Xiaoqin, the representative of the three branches, taking over, which challenged his right to speak significantly.

Because as a representative of the three branches, Wang Xiaoqin could participate in the work discussions of the Management Committee and, like him, possessed the right to speak that influenced the work resolutions of the Red Star Factory.

Of course, under the Management Committee system, Li Huade always possessed the absolute right to speak; he didn't gain much even if he fought for it, but he felt angry if he didn't fight.

Finally, there was the execution of work; without the support of the persons in charge of operational departments, many of his ideas became empty fantasies, and what he said didn't even amount to a fart.

He could not command Li Xuewu now, and he would be even less able to restrain Wang Xiaoqin in the future.

It could be said that his role as the supervisor in charge of security work is, well—frustrating.

On April 3rd, Li Xuewu, in accordance with the needs of organizational work, signed the mobilization order for the rotation training of all disciplinary teams in the security department.

The teams participating in this rotation training included all security, fire, and inspection departments.

At the same time, the Factory Militia Management Office issued a call for rotation training to all militia members.

According to the training and management needs of the backbone militia, the training goal was at least three months of off-duty training, which was a challenge for the Red Star Factory's production work.

And Li Xuewu boldly required the Security Office to divide the rotation training teams into several groups according to the annual training goals, based on the work needs of the departments' subordinate execution teams and backbone militia.

In other words, referring to the training experience of the past two years, every month, every department, and every factory had employees who were backbone militia participating in a three-month rotation training.

The locations for rotation training included the main factory, branch factories, training grounds, and other areas; the security departments of each branch factory formulated training plans in accordance with unified planning and their own local training goals.

Specifically, Li Xuewu also required in the rotation training order that the United Industrial School would carry out one month of basic military training for students of all grades during the summer vacation.

Different from the past backbone militia training outlines, and different from conventional training contents such as formation, shooting, grenade throwing, demolition, and tactical training, Li Xuewu made the following requirements when the Security Office organized the compilation of the training outline:

First, increase military theory education, requiring backbone militia to learn combat skills and also learn theory.

Including national defense knowledge, military thought, military history, military regulations, etc., with a key requirement to improve the backbone militia's national defense concept and legal awareness.

Second, standardize tactical action training, including basic combat actions, tactical basic actions, combat drills, etc., requiring the improvement of the backbone militia's individual combat capability.

Third, strengthen light weapon shooting training, requiring mastery of the basic structure, performance, operation methods, and shooting techniques of firearms, and improving shooting accuracy and speed.

Fourth, supplement physical resilience training, strengthening training contents in strength, speed, endurance, flexibility, etc., through forms such as running, obstacles, and equipment, to enhance the backbone militia's physique and combat effectiveness.

Fifth, add emergency rescue training, learning rescue knowledge for natural disasters and emergencies such as earthquakes, floods, and fires, to improve the backbone militia's emergency rescue capability.

Sixth, enrich communication training, changing from the past single radio communication, adding forms such as wired communication, sports communication, and suggested signal communication, requiring mastery of the use and maintenance of communication equipment, and improving the backbone militia's communication capability in actual combat.

Seventh, strengthen engineering operation training, requiring simple engineering construction and maintenance, such as digging trenches, building bunkers, building bridges, etc., to improve the militia's engineering operation skills.

Eighth, strengthen defensive combat training, learning tactics such as urban defense, point guarding, anti-terrorism, and stability maintenance, to improve the backbone militia's defensive combat capability.

Ninth, strengthen ideological and political education, conducting education on the organization's line, principles, and policies, and strengthening the backbone militia's political awareness and loyalty.

Tenth, specifically add psychological training, focusing on cultivating the backbone militia's psychological quality and improving their psychological endurance in dealing with war and emergencies.

The Red Star United Radio Station broadcasted the news of this rotation training mobilization order throughout the entire period.

Through radio signals, announcer Yu Haitang read out the instructions Li Xuewu made at the end of the mobilization order with a loud and clear voice:

Requiring all backbone militia to strictly follow the training subjects and contents, carry forward the combat spirit of not fearing hardship and not fearing death, dare to overcome all difficulties, dare to overwhelm all enemies, resolutely complete the new era mission tasks assigned by the organization and the people, train hard, and contribute due strength to comprehensively improving the militia's military quality, combat capability, and emergency rescue level, and to national defense and local construction.

"Leader, leader, I have something to find you for."

Li Xuewu came out of the office in the main administrative building and bumped into Yu Haitang, who was wearing a capable lady's administrative suit, in the corridor.

(Attached: The cadre attire at that time was also okay)

"What for? You aren't coming to block me again, are you?" Li Xuewu looked at her amusedly, his footsteps didn't stop, and he said while going downstairs: "I really don't have time."

"Oh my, it's not about the interview—" Yu Haitang smiled at Zhou Miaomiao, who was following Li Xuewu, and chased Li Xuewu downstairs, "Look at how you're being put on the spot."

"Hahaha—" Li Xuewu didn't mind her tone and said with a smile: "As long as it's not an interview, and not going to record a program, everything is easy to talk about, everything is easy to talk about."

"You are our supervisor in charge now, after all!"

Hearing him say this, Yu Haitang said coquettishly: "Is there anyone like you who doesn't support our work? Who will trust us in the future?"

"Besides, since I took over the radio station program reform work at the beginning of last year, I've invited you so many times, and every time you refuse me—we don't have the confidence to work anymore!"

"Look at that mouth of yours, you really are worthy of being the Red Star Factory's gold-medal broadcaster!"

Li Xuewu pointed at her and said: "I'm so busy now that I don't even have time to eat. You do a good deed and spare me first!"

"Alright, alright, alright, no interview for now!"

Yu Haitang was also someone who knew how to strike while the iron was hot; knowing Li Xuewu was hard to invite and today's opportunity was rare, she had to get to the point quickly.

"I know our factory is currently investing in the construction of a radio and television building. Since the building isn't finished yet, I won't ask you for the new equipment just yet," she said with a smile, taking Li Xuewu's arm. "Could you please support our need for talent development in our arts programs first?"

"What radio and television building?"

Li Xuewu looked at her amusedly, signaled her to be careful going down the steps, and emphasized: "That's the Literary Publishing House's building. How did it become yours?"

"We and the factory newspaper each call it our own."

Yu Haitang blinked mischievously and said with a smile: "This is called relying on one's own ability, striving for excellence and being the first."

"Alright—striving for excellence and being the first from here?"

Li Xuewu nodded with a smile, walked down the stairs, entered the lobby, and asked: "Tell me, how do you want me to support your literary program talent construction needs?"

"I'm not trying to put you on the spot!"

Yu Haitang let go of Li Xuewu's arm and said earnestly: "You also know that in terms of literary radio programs in the surrounding area and within the system, our factory has pioneered it."

"Even if we want to learn advanced work experience from peers, we don't have such rich program forms as ours," she looked at Li Xuewu and asked: "Can you let me go to the Literary Propaganda Team to select professional actors with thoughts, potential, and real strength?"

"I guarantee that I will definitely do a good job with the literary programs and strive to make them more professional!"

"Let professional people do professional things."

Li Xuewu walked to the lobby entrance, thought about it, nodded, and said: "Your work idea is correct, but it is still somewhat narrow."

"Those with potential, thoughts, and willingness to engage in radio literary work are not just the good seedlings in the Literary Propaganda Team."

He pointed at Yu Haitang and said: "Have you ever thought that our grassroots teams, among the frontline workers, also have excellent literary representatives?"

"Of course, I am not denying your suggestion."

Li Xuewu patted her arm and said: "There is no problem with you going to the Literary Propaganda Team to select backbone members to enrich the needs of literary program talent."

He turned back and instructed Zhou Miaomiao: "Help me record this. When we get back, help me contact the Propaganda Office and ask if we can organize a lecture."

"This can also be considered an adjustment of operational talent, giving the Literary Propaganda Team one more choice."

"Okay, leader, I will arrange it when I get down."

Zhou Miaomiao nodded earnestly and made a record in her notebook. Li Xuewu didn't have a secretary now, so whoever he caught in the large office would follow him out to handle things.

Today, she took the initiative to find Li Xuewu, and her purpose was also to seize the opportunity to contact him more and learn from him.

"But I have a prerequisite."

Li Xuewu walked down the steps and emphasized to Yu Haitang before getting into the car: "For transfers between departments and positions, we must seek the opinions of the employees themselves; we cannot be forceful."

"I understand—" Yu Haitang said with a smile: "A forced melon is not sweet."

"That's good, I'll talk about it when I get back," Li Xuewu nodded when he saw she understood his meaning and said: "You are doing a good job at the radio station; you should learn more and create more."

"Thank you for the leader's instructions—"

Yu Haitang stood by the car and said politely with a smile: "Then I'll wait for you to come back."

Hmm, the voice is a bit sweet—!

Zhou Miaomiao had heard some history about Yu Haitang, and was triggered by this high-sweet "wait for you to come back," so she took a special look at her before getting into the car.

And at this moment, Yu Haitang also looked at her.

Eyes met, light and shadow intertwined.

Confirming the gaze, they were the same kind of ruthless people!

One dared to "dedicate," one dared to "shoulder."

Saying he was busy with work and unwilling to accept Yu Haitang's interview, Li Xuewu was not making an excuse.

Because he was really busy.

Riding in the Hongtu No. 1 small passenger car, he didn't stop to first look at the construction site of the twin towers of the factory office building, and then rushed to Fengtai to look at the site selection of the New Beijing No. 1 Steel Rolling Factory.

Staring at the construction of the Red Star Factory office building was normal, but why go to see the site selection of the New Beijing No. 1 Steel Rolling Factory?

You can say it, the relationship is huge.

The Red Star Factory and Beijing Industry had long had an agreement; the Red Star Factory insisted on moving the Steel Rolling Factory to Steel City to save transportation costs and construction costs.

It was even more to complete the overall construction plan of the Liangma River Industrial Zone and move away heavy industry.

But Beijing Industry was reluctant to part with such good heavy industry resources as the Steel Rolling Factory, so the two sides were deadlocked for a round and reached a final agreement.

Since the Red Star Factory was going to build a brand-new Steel Rolling Factory in Steel City, using brand-new equipment and brand-new production processes, the old equipment and technology would face elimination.

It was said to be old equipment, but the Red Star Factory had no plans to build a new factory before, and there were equipment updates and renovations every year, so it was a relatively productive steel rolling industry.

The Red Star Factory didn't want these processes and equipment anymore, and Beijing Industry was reluctant to part with them, so the two sides hit it off and chose a piece of land in Fengtai to build the New Beijing No. 1 Steel Rolling Factory.

Alright, the Red Star Factory had to be responsible for assisting the New Beijing No. 1 Factory with site selection, construction, relocation, and restoring productivity, among a bunch of other projects, until it was fully autonomous.

Someone asked, is the Red Star Factory idle? Selling equipment and still teaching hand-in-hand?

This is not idle, this is to save money.

The new factory hasn't been built yet, the old factory hasn't been relocated yet, and all equipment and processes have been sold, reducing depreciation and land occupancy, isn't this saving money?

With the New Beijing No. 1 Factory as a bottom-line receiver, some employees who were unwilling to follow the new factory to Steel City had units to be placed and received, isn't this saving a large sum of placement fees?

Using the Red Star Factory's equipment and processes, and continuing and receiving some of the Red Star Factory's workers, then doesn't the New Beijing No. 1 Factory still have to use the Red Star Metallurgical Factory's materials?

These are the benefits on the surface, and there are many advantages hidden behind them.

The two sides reached a cooperation opinion, reducing the intensity of Beijing Industry's opposition during the Red Star Factory's group-based process, and also deepening the cooperation foundation between the two sides.

Besides, doesn't building the New Beijing No. 1 Factory cost money?

"The city has its own construction company."

In the Hongyun No. 1 car, Zhao Fuchun, the person in charge of industry, looked at Li Xuewu amusedly and asked: "Why must we use the Red Star Factory's engineering team?"

"Because we can be responsible for our own engineering construction projects."

Li Xuewu said very straightforwardly: "The New Beijing No. 1 Factory uses our equipment and processes. Of course, we are more professional in how the workshop should be designed and constructed."

"Another point, we are fully confident in being responsible for our own construction technology and quality."

"Ah, according to what you said, if we don't use your engineering team, and there is a situation where the machines and the workshop don't match, you won't be responsible, right?"

Zhao Fuchun said angrily and amusedly: "Hey! Are you threatening me?"

"Look at what you're saying, did I put a knife to your neck and force you to use our engineering team?"

Li Xuewu's mouth was also not to be outdone; he glanced at Zhao Fuchun and said: "I just emphasized that our technology is good and the quality is reliable. Who told you to let your imagination run wild?"

"You say that, and I can't help but think!" Zhao Fuchun pointed at him and said: "I know you have many ghost ideas and never suffer a loss in anything you do."

"You are committing personal attacks now, be careful I sue you for slander."

Li Xuewu was joking, but took the opportunity to glance out the window, sliding his finger on the map to determine their current location.

"The piece of land you chose is really good; transportation is convenient, and land acquisition is convenient, but the terrain is a bit low, but you can work hard on the drainage system."

"We are going to build a new heavy industry!"

Zhao Fuchun picked up the telescope at hand and looked into the distance, saying: "The city approved two million in construction funds, and my pressure is huge."

"Two million, and still in the situation of using old assets," Li Xuewu pondered for a while and said: "Then, without joking, this project really has to be given to us."

"Hehe—how so?"

Zhao Fuchun withdrew his gaze from the telescope, sized up Li Xuewu, and asked: "Don't be mysterious!"

"Damn, I'm talking about business, I have to be responsible for what I say."

Li Xuewu was an old acquaintance with him, and in such a relatively relaxed occasion, he didn't have so many scruples when speaking.

In fact, it wasn't just him; most cadres of this era had verbal vulgarities.

And don't you hear that even in meetings of that kind, the big bosses would say "I 【vulgarity】" every other sentence?

"How much did it cost to build a steel rolling factory ten years ago? Two million was more than enough."

Li Xuewu signaled the car to stop, stood up, supported the office desk board with his hand, and pointed out the window: "Rebuilding a steel rolling factory in this environment like reclaiming wasteland, two million? Are you playing?"

"Don't talk to me about the comparison of construction material prices between ten years ago and ten years later, and don't talk to me about the advantages of your city's engineering companies."

He pounded the factory planning map on the desk board, "Two million minus the purchase of production equipment and transportation costs, how much can be left?"

"We have a rich foundation of engineering machinery operations, and even so, we only dare to say we won't lose money. You?" Li Xuewu pretended to be disdainful and glanced sideways at the several persons in charge of the Municipal Construction Company following behind the car and snorted coldly: "Stop making international jokes—"

"Hey! Secretary-General Li, you are looking down on people a bit!"

The Vice President of the Municipal Third Construction Company was unwilling, stood up, frowned and said: "The Red Star Factory Engineering Team has only been established for a few days. Even if you have engineering machinery, can you have more than our Municipal Construction?"

"That is—" someone else was also dissatisfied: "Speaking with such a big wind, aren't you afraid of flashing your tongue."

"That's right, Secretary-General Li's tone is too big, and he doesn't take us seriously at all!"

The car was "filled with righteous indignation," Zhao Fuchun smiled and didn't stop them, just watching how Li Xuewu would respond.

Li Xuewu didn't mind the barking of those people, frankly patted the driver's seat, signaled him to drive, and sat back in his seat.

"Although our Factory Engineering Construction Branch started late and was just established, we are lucky that one enterprise after another is willing to cooperate with us."

He said lightly: "It's not convenient to talk about the specific cooperation content, but the general situation can still be shared with everyone."

"The Red Star Factory and the Santa Ya Group have signed a framework cooperation agreement. In the future, the two sides will carry out deep cooperation in the field of engineering construction, including engineering machinery."

"Don't worry, it's not much—"

Li Xuewu stretched out his right hand, spread out a palm, and said: "There will be about five hundred units of engineering machinery given to the Red Star Construction Branch before the end of this year."

"It doesn't matter, let's compare when the time comes."

Compare? What is there to compare!

So you guys are looking for foreign aid because you can't play, having money and connections is amazing!

The car was instantly quiet because of Li Xuewu's palm, leaving only the sound of the car and those unwilling eyes; they wanted to beat Li Xuewu up.

"It seems you guys are really rich."

Zhao Fuchun sat down with emotion, looked at the planning map on the desk board and said: "Now that I think about it, I really regret supporting your factory's promotion."

"It doesn't matter, we are still in the production chain relationship of upstream and downstream within the system, taking care of each other," Li Xuewu said with a smile: "If you need anything, just tell us, we are all brothers."

What was said before as a threat, now is the real threat.

Are you giving the engineering construction project or not?

If you don't give it, we can take it ourselves!

"This pharmacy is not very good."

Zhou Miaomiao followed Li Xuewu's footsteps and looked at this antique pharmacy from front to back.

When the two came out, she looked at the plaque that had already been changed above her head again, frowned and said: "Victory Pharmacy, and still a century-old shop?"

"That—" the person in charge of the pharmacy was also full of embarrassment and explained softly: "Our shop is indeed a century-old shop, it's just that the name has been changed."

Zhou Miaomiao looked at the pharmacy manager in confusion and asked: "What was the original name?"

"《Baicaotang》, it has a history of more than five hundred years," the pharmacy manager said in a low voice: "This wasn't after the public-private partnership, and then caught up with..."

He pointed to the plaque position above his head and said: "Now it's called Victory Pharmacy, but the plaque is still that plaque, it's just that the characters were dug out and re-engraved. The small characters in the line below weren't dug out, so it left a century-old shop..."

"Pfft—" Zhou Miaomiao couldn't help but laugh out loud after hearing his explanation, "I was just saying how Victory Pharmacy could still have a century-old shop."

"I've made you laugh—" the pharmacy manager was also very embarrassed, especially in front of such a great beauty as Zhou Miaomiao, he felt even more uncomfortable.

Li Xuewu stood on the street, looked around at the location of the pharmacy, and glanced at the boarded-up windows and the half-door.

Zhou Miaomiao was sensitive, and without Li Xuewu speaking, she took the initiative to ask: "Since it's a century-old shop, why is it closed?"

"This... this is a long story."

The pharmacy manager hesitated and looked at the large sedan parked outside the door, feeling guilty and said: "Mainly because the therapeutic effect of Chinese medicine is not as fast as Western medicine..."

"How long has the pharmacy been closed?"

Li Xuewu had no intention of listening to the pharmacy manager's vague words anymore, directly interrupted his nonsense, and asked: "How were the workers arranged?"

"Almost a year," the pharmacy manager said with a bitter face: "How else could they be arranged? Do whatever they need to do. Anyway, the business went bust, and it wasn't their own family's."

"And it doesn't delay everyone from getting their wages..."

He said this last sentence very carefully, but also with indignation.

Li Xuewu glanced at him, and seeing him with his head down, didn't mind.

Zhou Miaomiao was very curious about him and asked: "Everyone else was diverted, why didn't you leave?"

She looked back at the pharmacy and said: "And you kept this place so tidy and clean, waiting for the organization to reopen this pharmacy?"

"Hehe," the pharmacy manager gave a bitter laugh and said: "Stop joking. Since ancient times, there has never been a pharmacy that reopened after going bust."

If a restaurant goes bust and reopens, people say the boss has changed, and the taste can be tasted again. If a pharmacy goes bust and reopens, even if you change the boss, who would dare to try it with their own illness?

"I came here to watch the shop out of desperation," the pharmacy manager sighed and said: "Everyone else could be diverted, but I couldn't."

Before Zhou Miaomiao could ask again, he looked up at the plaque that had been dug out beyond recognition, and said in a gloomy tone: "Because this pharmacy used to be our family's."

Zhou Miaomiao frowned at him and didn't continue to ask, because if she continued to ask, she might find trouble for herself.

She turned to look at Li Xuewu, but found that the leader had already walked towards the car.

On the way back to the factory area, she also secretly observed Li Xuewu for a while, and then took the initiative to ask: "Leader, you said he..."

"Hmm, it should be true."

Li Xuewu naturally knew what Zhou Miaomiao wanted to ask, looked out the window, and said: "Families of traditional Chinese medicine all have some inheritance and feelings."

"What about you?" Zhou Miaomiao dared to ask; seeing Li Xuewu's mood was low, she gathered her courage and asked softly: "I heard that your ancestors were also..."

"That was a long time ago," Li Xuewu turned back to look at her and said: "When my grandfather was alive, the family pharmacy was gone. By my father's generation, they were bell-doctors walking the streets with medicine boxes."

"By my generation, it was even more desolate," he said with a bitter laugh: "In the family, only my third brother inherited my father's mantle."

"Things are unpredictable," Zhou Miaomiao nodded with emotion and said: "It can be seen that that 《Baicaotang》 has been passed down for a long time."

"Hmm," Li Xuewu responded softly and said: "It's a pity."

"I don't think it's a pity."

Zhou Miaomiao turned around, looked at Li Xuewu in the back, and said: "If our factory can acquire the pharmacy that Beijing Industry threw down..."

"We'll talk about it later, it's not that simple."

Li Xuewu said lightly: "Zhao Fuchun is not a fool either. It's easy to pit him once, but it's hard to take advantage of him a second time."

"I have confidence in you," Zhou Miaomiao joked: "From what I know, there are quite a few closed Chinese medicine shops in Beijing, and many have been changed into Western medicine clinics, or simply changed to other trades."

"This time our factory is integrating Chinese medicine industry resources, relying on the existing food processing factory's modern production capacity, and also has export orders from Hong Kong."

She said confidently: "Even if we can't take down too many sales terminals, with the advantage of the Chinese medicine industry planting areas we have built, it is also..."

"What time is it? Is it off work?"

Li Xuewu reacted after hearing her words, raised his watch and said: "Oh, hurry."

"No trouble, leader."

Zhou Miaomiao said embarrassedly: "I'll just go back to the factory to get my bicycle and ride back."

"What trouble is this? Where is your home?"

Li Xuewu reached out and patted Han Jiankun's shoulder and said: "Send Comrade Zhou Miaomiao home first, we are not in a hurry."

"Thank you, leader," Zhou Miaomiao first thanked Li Xuewu, and then said politely to Han Jiankun: "Just send me to Xidan Shopping Mall."

She turned to Li Xuewu and smiled: "I made an appointment with a friend to go shopping. If I could hitch a ride in your car, I would have arrived early."

"Hehe, don't you need to go home to cook?"

Li Xuewu teased her with a light laugh: "Be careful that Comrade Zhou Tan will be hungry and argue with you."

"We don't usually cook," Zhou Miaomiao explained casually: "Either we eat in the factory, or we just deal with it at a small shop at the door of our house."

"Really capable, youth is good."

Li Xuewu said with emotion and envy, which made Zhou Miaomiao laugh.

"You are not a few years older than me!"

"Hahaha—I forgot that I am still young—"

The two in the car were laughing and talking, and the Volga M24 had already arrived at Xidan North Street, which was the most prosperous area in Beijing in this era.

But just as the two finished their conversation and were about to say goodbye, a loud noise suddenly came from the right front, penetrating the car window.

When the three in the car looked in the direction of the sound together, the scene left them completely stunned.
