Chapter 1296: Wild Boars Within the Western Wolf Group's Territory

From the helicopter's position to the location where the old wolf discovered the wild boar group, the straight-line distance is 30 li.

The evolved eagle owl from Territory Eight carries a camera and flies at an altitude of 500 meters, while the helicopter flies 1,500 meters above the eagle owl. This flight altitude neither interferes with the eagle owl nor disturbs the animals in the evolved forest, and the top sniper can still protect the eagle owl's safety — three benefits at once.

Xin Yu's three trained birds, ranked by brain evolution level, are: the raven Moli, the eagle owl Owl Owl, and the sea eagle Xiaoyu. The first two can understand Xin Yu's voice commands and act on them; the latter does not have this ability.

Therefore, when Xin Yu goes out on missions, she only brings the raven and the eagle owl. But if she needs a trained bird to carry heavier supplies, she brings the sea eagle and has the raven and sea eagle team up for the mission.

The raven Moli and the eagle owl Owl Owl have different personalities — the eagle owl likes to fly on her own wings, while Moli likes to perch on other birds' backs or on Xin Yu's shoulder.

Therefore, when the Xinyu Sect sends the eagle owl on a mission, she can't release the bird only upon reaching the mission site — she has to release her ahead of time.

The evolved eagle owl flies very fast, reaching the old wolf's area in just 8 minutes.

Huo Zhun reports, "Sister Qing, a wild boar group spotted to the lower left, an evolved wolf is on the mountain peak to the left of the boar group."

"Copy."

Xia Qing lies prone inside the helicopter, protecting the eagle owl's safety through the firing port beneath the cabin, and contacts Lao Si, who is collecting samples, by phone. "Lao Si, do you see the helicopter? I see you. Just leave the collected samples on the stone beside you. Yes, right there is fine. I'll have Owl Owl, the eagle owl from Territory Eight, go pick up the samples — don't attack her…"

Under Xin Yu's direction, the eagle owl lowers her flight altitude, grabs the black packaging bag on the stone with her talons, and returns to the helicopter.

Soon, the test results for the wild boar feces — collected by the wolf, delivered by the eagle owl, and analyzed by humans — appeared on the computer screen at Territory Seven.

Xia Qing asks, "Third Brother, this 'Evolved Type C Clostridium perfringens' is a type of evolved anaerobic bacteria in the soil, right?"

Zhang San replies and asks, "This group of wild boars developed acute bloody stool because they were infected with this evolved pathogenic bacteria. Can humans enter the wild boars' activity area?"

Xia Qing answers, "This is the middle-ring territory of the Western Wolf Group — only I can enter."

This spring, after humans entered the Western Wolf Group's territory and brutally killed wolf cubs, the Western Wolf Group no longer allows humans to enter their core territory or the middle-ring territory surrounding the core territory to hunt.

In principle, humans are also forbidden from entering the Western Wolf Group's outer territory. But the Western Wolf Group has few members, so human squads seize the gaps when wolf group members aren't patrolling the outer territory to catch a few prey and gather some plants.

After hearing Xia Qing's answer, Zhang San offers a handling suggestion: "Without intervention, this group of wild boars will most likely become a main force in the animal beast tide of the Snowfall Season. We should clean and disinfect the wild boar feces as soon as possible and bury them, use C-2 agent to disinfect the wild boars' activity area and sprinkle C-3 powder into the pond where they drink. If possible, it's best to inject this boar group with the C-1 injection from Box One."

"Copy, I'll carry the agents and begin action right away."

After receiving the mission, Xia Qing glances at the Western Wolf Group member who has already reached the hill near the wild boar group's living area, and immediately calls Broken-Waist Wolf by phone, telling it to call Handsome Giant Wolf over to this area as soon as possible to help her complete the disinfection work.

Lao Si? He has already left this area and headed for the Tiger Group and other wolf groups' territories to continue his assignment.

After Broken-Waist Wolf reaches the designated area, Xia Qing, carrying weapons and agents on her back, rappels down on a rope and lands right beside it, drawing a round of roaring from the Western Wolf Group.

The Western Wolf King roars especially loudly upon seeing Xia Qing.

Broken-Waist Wolf roars back directly, while Xia Qing stands obediently beside Broken-Waist Wolf and doesn't join in the howling match.

Two minutes later, Handsome Giant Wolf arrives and stands on Xia Qing's other side, ending the howling match. Under her companions' protection, Xia Qing begins executing the mission.

Jing Kuan on the helicopter in the air asks, "Does Handsome Giant Wolf count as part of the Northern Wolf Group or the Western Wolf Group?"

Hu Zi Feng, also on defensive duty, watches Xia Qing cleaning up feces and answers, "Not sure."

Huo Zhun has a sudden idea and asks loudly, "Third Brother, do you think Handsome Giant Wolf belongs to the Western Wolf Group or the Northern Wolf Group?"

Er Yong reminds him, "Brother Huo, Third Brother is connected to Sister Qing's camera."

Xia Qing has already rappelled out of the helicopter to execute the mission, so of course Zhang San can't hear their conversation. But Er Yong somehow feels that even if Zhang San could hear, he still wouldn't answer Huo Zhun's question.

Xin Yu, sitting beside the testing equipment, speaks up: "Handsome Giant Wolf currently belongs to the Northern Wolf Group; the Western Wolf Group is its natal wolf group. After an adult wolf joins a new wolf group, over 95% will sever ties with the original group. The 5% exception occurs in prey-rich areas, where related neighboring wolf groups may form a loose alliance, sharing large hunting grounds and driving out outsider wolves. The behavioral characteristics of the Western Wolf Group and the Northern Wolf Group match those of a blood-related wolf group alliance."

Huo Zhun is stunned. "How does Sister Xin know all this?"

"Researcher Zhang Song of Territory Seven published a paper on evolved wolf group behavior research in a top domestic academic journal the year before last."

Huo Zhun…

"Sister Xin, didn't you also not finish middle school?"

Hu Zi Feng reminds Huo Zhun, "When Xin Yu was at Hui Er, she already led the Chonglian research team in conducting multiple studies related to animal training and published several research papers — you can find them online."

Er Yong reminds him with mischievous glee, "Doesn't Brother Huo know yet? Sister Xin is the technical advisor for our alliance's newly established organic fertilizer plant."

Huo Zhun complains, "Brother Yong, let's stop hurting each other."

Er Yong chuckles and reminds him, "I'm four years older than you — I had already graduated middle school before the catastrophe started."

Huo Zhun feels even more despair.

Farmer Xia Qing has been raising wild boars for over a year and is very familiar with their habits. In less than an hour, she completes the tasks of shoveling feces, disinfecting, and injecting the boar group, and returns to the helicopter.

How were the injections administered? She had the Western Wolf Group drive the boar group into a mountain cave, then used tranquilizer darts to knock them all out for the injections.

Why does the Western Wolf Group listen to her? Of course, it's because Handsome Giant Wolf is here.

After returning to the helicopter, Xia Qing spreads her arms to let Xin Yu disinfect her, then gives the order: "Er Yong, Mountain Sixty-Two, Third Peak."

Mountain Sixty-Two?!

Huo Zhun looks solemn. "Sister Qing, is it an evolved bear?"

"It's a monkey." The Xiong Qun's main food during this period is mountain walnuts and pine nuts — these foods are not easily infected by evolved soil anaerobic bacteria.

Xin Yu asks, "White-faced Saki Monkey?"

Xia Qing nods, "Mm, a small monkey."
