Chapter 1428: South Wolf - 21, Rendong

"Internal destructive element content 29‰, nourishing element content 2.0?, mixed infection of multiple pathogens, superimposed internal and external parasites, and nutritional deficiency." While flipping through the emaciated old wolf's CT scan and blood test results, Zhang San frowned and made his diagnosis, then asked, "What are its baseline values?"

Zhang San knew that Zhang Song had been keeping files on every wolf in the southern wolf pack, but he had been busy with his own research project and had never looked at them.

Xia Qing immediately pulled up the file and began reading, "Southern Wolf Pack Member 21, female, the November 6 blood sample test shows that this wolf does not have the toxin Liehuo deployed in the southern wolf pack in its body. Its internal destructive element content is 18‰, nourishing element content is 3.3?, DNA genetic testing ancestral analysis shows 88.3% gray wolf, 11.7% domestic dog..."

Reading up to this point, Xia Qing was surprised, "Third Brother, this pretty wolf is also a wolf-dog!"

Zhang San, opening the medicine box, shot Xia Qing a look. "From a genetics perspective, this wolf is a hybrid offspring of a wolf and a dog; its parents should be a wolf and a wolf-dog. Its domestic dog genes are far below the official genetic threshold, so according to taxonomic standards, it does not belong to the wolf-dog category and cannot obtain a 'wolf-dog' identity tag, nor can it enter human safe zones under the identity of a domesticated dog."

After injecting two doses of special-effect serum into the evolved wolf Zhang Song had named South Wolf-21, Zhang San took out four types of oral and topical medications, quickly wrote down the usage methods and nursing key points, handed them to Xia Qing, and pointing at South Wolf-21's abdomen, asked, "Did you suture this wound?"

Xia Qing straightened her back and grinned, "Yes. This wolf participated in the beast tide on November 6 and broke into Liehuo Base. Its abdomen should have been cut by sharp hard objects like glass inside Liehuo Base. After the wolf pack returned to the territory, Fourth Sister asked me to come suture the wound. Third Brother, how do you think my suturing looks?"

Xia Qing didn't dare claim anything else, but when it came to wound suturing, she had studied under Chang Li from Territory One and the doctors at Center Nine for nearly two months, and had been certified by professionals as ready for independent practice.

Looks alright?

Zhang San used the needle tip to accurately point out two obvious problems. "Here, the skin edge has rolled inward; the skin tension here is relatively high, so the stitch spacing should not exceed 5 millimeters. Surgical suturing is practiced over thousands and tens of thousands of stitches. If you want to become a qualified emergency doctor, you must strengthen your practice."

Her idol was stating facts, so Xia Qing took a proper attitude; her back could no longer straighten. "Alright, I'll practice whenever I find the time."

Like hell you'll find the time!

Zhang San put away the syringe and pointed out Xia Qing's second mistake. "After treating this wolf, you should record the complete post-treatment medical record into the file. Zhang Song is about to go on a business trip to Red One. You hand the file over to Zhang Shi first, let her take charge of this work, and record the previous and current treatments into the file, as well as Fourth Sister's. Does this wolf have a name?"

South Wolf-21 was the name of the experimental subject, not the name of a territory member. Since Blue Star had now entered a new era, everything had to be done properly.

Hearing her idol proactively ask this question, Xia Qing immediately answered very tactfully, "Not yet. Would you like to give it one?"

To avoid hearing an irritating name like "Scar Wolf," Zhang San looked down at this wolf, which was thin enough that its bones showed through its skin, its fur snow-white with a touch of ink-black, and which Xia Qing said was quite good-looking, and named it, "Call it 'Rendong' (Honeysuckle)."

Xia Qing immediately praised, "What a great name! Once it endures this winter, it will recover and remain a mighty, robust evolved wolf. Third Brother, you truly are a human standing at the top of the Jin Zita of the entire universe. Not only is your medical ability heaven-defying, but your ability to name things is also heaven-defying..."

That's not what I meant! Zhang San, who had been mentally flung off Blue Star by Xia Qing, was annoyed and turned to leave.

Xia Qing hurriedly followed. "Third Brother, Yang Jin stewed duck soup. Why don't you and Captain Zhang and the others eat dinner before leaving? It's too cold outside; eating something hot will keep you from catching a chill."

Thinking of Yang Jin's passable cooking skills, Zhang San stopped, turned his head, and looked at Xia Qing following behind him.

Xia Qing beamed. "I'll take you over first, then come back to look after Rendong, Fourth Sister, and Ergua."

"Carry this box; leave that one here for now. Put it somewhere Xiaoduan can't reach, don't let it break it. Fourth Sister will need it for the next surgery."

Walking out of the operating room, Zhang San instructed the Broken-Waist Wolf, who was staring at the old wolf's mouth, "Fourth Sister is currently in post-operative recovery. Xiaoduan can't pry open her mouth to look, got it?"

The Broken-Waist Wolf immediately retracted its paw, tilted its furry big head slightly, and grinned, revealing two adorable, snow-white little fang tips.

Xia Qing, carrying the box, was speechless. This Broken-Waist guy was too shameless—at such an old age, it was actually copying its pup's head-tilt move!

Zhang San's expression instantly softened. "Fourth Sister can't eat for three hours. Xiaoduan, do you want to come with me to eat Yang Jin's food?"

The Broken-Waist Wolf immediately closed its mouth and put on a solemn face.

Zhang Shi......

Xia Qing...... heh......

After driving her sour-faced idol to the meeting room filled with the aroma of food by the farmland, Xia Qing returned to the laboratory, wrapped the thin-furred old wolf Rendong in an insulating pad, picked it up, and called to Zhang Shi, "Sister Ten, come with me to Fourth Sister's territory to learn the way."

"Alright." Zhang Shi, who was in charge of post-operative care, immediately followed Xia Qing and Fourth Sister, climbed up the building ruins, and crawled into the wolf den hung with a grass curtain.

The Broken-Waist Wolf did not follow them into the old wolf's territory, but turned around to find its pup.

The cave where Fourth Sister and Rendong were recuperating was above the building ruins south of Xia Qing's courtyard, next to Fourth Sister's royal platform.

Xia Qing had dug a pit next to the royal platform, tamped the bottom with earth, then laid waterproof cloth and insulating film on the bottom, all four sides, and the top to block the external cold and moisture. So strictly speaking, this wolf den was actually an insulated tent set in a depression.

A lighting fixture hung from the ceiling inside the tent, thick dry grass was spread over the insulating film on the bottom, and a thirty-centimeter-long ceramic heating element was placed on each of the left and right sides inside the den.

This heating element was something Xia Qing had specifically exchanged from Territory Seven and then sold to the old wolf.

Zhang Shi quickly surveyed the cave and looked at the hygrometer hanging inside. The temperature was 16°C, humidity 55%, meeting the recovery needs of the two wolves.

Xia Qing steadily placed Rendong on the soft dry grass, pointed at the grass curtain beside it, and said, "Fourth Sister, it's too cold outside. When you and Rendong need to relieve yourselves, just crawl through this grass curtain into the small cave next door. After you're done, cover it with plant ash. I've put the plant ash in the small cave. Don't worry, I will regularly clean and disinfect this cave and the toilet cave next door, and the dry grass here will also be replaced regularly."

These two were paying VIP patients, so Xia Qing naturally had to provide first-rate care.

The toothless old wolf looked at Xia Qing solemnly, without nodding.

Zhang Shi quickly made a judgment based on the magnetic field, "Sister Qing, Fourth Brother is very unhappy."

Unhappy? Xia Qing thought for a few seconds and asked, "Fourth Sister, does your tooth hurt?"

The solemn old wolf still didn't move.

Not a toothache? Xia Qing thought for a moment and asked, "Fourth Sister doesn't like the name Third Brother gave your companion?"

The old wolf nodded.

Zhang Shi...... If the big shot who had just been rejected by the Broken-Waist Wolf knew that the name he gave was also despised by a wolf, his face would surely look even worse......
