Chapter 1504: The Human-Wolf Broker Issues Tasks

The smart, studious Broken-Waist Wolf immediately ran to Xia Qing's side, skillfully pawed the remote to switch folders, found the video introducing the qiang synthetic elements, opened it, fast-forwarded to the segment on qiang-13, and started playing it.

Yang Jin, who was holding Xia Qing's hand, was once again shocked by this wolf's intelligence.

"The 13th qiang synthetic element — artificially synthesized element qiang-13. Qiang-13 is synthesized by combining qiang particles with the metallic element zinc (Zn), which participates in gene transcription and repair, under precise experimental conditions. Qiang-13 enters an animal's body through the mouth, nose, or wounds, and automatically begins cutting the prion protein Pr-1, a precursor protein ubiquitous in living organisms. It reassembles the cut fragments into a new 'qiang-13-zinc' protease, thereby achieving molecular-level self-replication. This transformation can spread from cell to cell throughout the entire body, with the most pronounced effects on nerve and skin cells. Because it only alters the host's own proteins, it is not easily attacked by the host's immune system, and it cannot be 'killed' with drugs — drugs can only suppress its conversion process, so medication must be taken for life…"

Xia Qing turned her head to glance at Yang Jin, who was pretending to watch the video attentively, and wiggled her left hand, which he was holding. Although reluctant, Yang Jin still released Xia Qing's hand and quickly refocused his attention to watch the video with her.

"…The synthesis and spread of qiang-13 is an open provocation against the survival rights of all humanity. At the Blue Planet United Nations Assembly in June of the seventh year of the Calamity, all nations unanimously agreed to classify qiang-13 as a Class One permanent biotoxin, strictly prohibiting its synthesis, production, and possession for any purpose. According to the law, our nation reserves the permanent right to use all necessary means to prevent, stop, and counter such threats…"

After the video finished playing, Yang Jin and Broken-Waist Wolf looked at Xia Qing; the other wolves were still staring at the screen, and even the usually goofy Handsome Giant Wolf, who disliked using his brain, was very solemn.

Sheep Lao Da was still pedaling the exercise bike, and Wolf Lao Er was still glaring fiercely at Yang Jin.

"Broken-Waist, you performed excellently — you found this knowledge point right away." Xia Qing pulled open the tea table drawer, took out a small bag of freeze-dried treats, and gave them to Broken-Waist Wolf for answering correctly.

"Meee~~~" Sheep Lao Da immediately indicated it wanted some too.

Xia Qing skillfully took a strip from the sealed bag of dried bamboo shoots and gave it to Sheep Lao Da, sincerely praising its thighs — the most beautiful on the entire Blue Planet — then rewarded Wolf Lao Er, who had been seriously protecting her, with a freeze-dried treat, rewarded the Head Wolf, who had recruited such a wonderful member as Broken-Waist Wolf, with two freeze-dried treats, gave a freeze-dried treat to Missing-Ear Wolf, who was attending class for the first time, encouraging it to raise its paw when it heard a question it knew in the future, and then gave Lao Si a freeze-dried treat to reward its attitude of attending the meeting while injured.

The last freeze-dried treat went to Handsome Giant Wolf — for no other reason than that it was both clean and handsome after its bath.

Turning around and seeing Yang Jin looking at her eagerly, Xia Qing fished a packet of dried dragon fruit from her pocket, stuffed it into his hand, and then continued asking, "If you discover someone using qiang-13 to attack your companions, what should you do?"

Yang Jin, holding the dried dragon fruit, had just started to raise his hand when Broken-Waist Wolf's paw was already up. Xia Qing called on it: "Very good, Broken-Waist is the first to raise its paw again — go ahead."

Top-tier speed-evolved human Yang Jin…

Broken-Waist Wolf immediately stepped back a few paces, then took its phone from its hazmat suit pocket in its mouth.

"An extremely accurate answer! Broken-Waist truly is an evolved wolf standing at the pinnacle of the Blue Planet's pyramid — no wonder my lord the Queen likes you so much!"

Xia Qing still praised first and handed out the prize, then led her students in reviewing this important knowledge point: "After discovering someone using qiang-13 to attack your companions, you should immediately move away from the companion poisoned by qiang-13, then call me. I will dispatch a professional team at the fastest speed to clean up the toxin. Do not try to go save your companion, because contact with a poisoned companion will poison you too."

Praised, Broken-Waist Wolf bared its little fang tips, pushed its fuzzy big head in front of the Head Wolf, and the Head Wolf, guarding two packets of freeze-dried treats, tilted its head and nuzzled its mate.

Yang Jin…

"Grrr—" Lao Si let out a stern, low growl.

Xia Qing continued, "Lao Si is right — humans who use qiang-13 to make bombs will be severely punished…"

Xia Qing paused and looked at Yang Jin beside her.

Yang Jin immediately picked up the thread: "The masterminds, the main executors, and the active participants among those who use qiang-13 to make bombs will all be killed. The accomplices and assistants will all be arrested and sent to do forced labor tasks with no point rewards, ineligible for parole for any reason, and will work until they die."

"Right, just as Yang Jin said." After affirming Yang Jin's answer, Xia Qing casually stuffed a green-light dried bamboo shoot into Yang Jin's hand and began to announce the reason for convening this meeting of the wolf pack leaders: "These bad people also know that if they're caught they'll be killed or locked up to work, so they'll run all over the place, and some of them will definitely hide in the Evolution Forest and become wanderers. These people may carry qiang-13 toxin — extremely dangerous."

After speaking, Xia Qing began assigning tasks: "My lord the Queen, Broken-Waist, you need to send more companions to patrol the territory; Lao Si, you'll relay the message to Lord Cui Yan, the western tiger groups, and the eastern jackal groups — if you think other beast groups need to know, pass it on as soon as possible; Handsome Wolf, you go pass the word to the western wolf pack; for the northern Xiong Qun, I'll have Does Daigua make a trip. If anyone discovers humans appearing within the core territory, try not to fight the humans — send companions to watch them from a distance, then contact me as soon as possible, and I'll send people to catch them."

After issuing the tasks, the human-wolf mission broker Xia Qing proposed the split: "After catching the bad humans, sixty percent of the supplies on them go to the territory lord who called me, twenty percent goes to me, and twenty percent goes to the human captors I send."

Lao Si, Broken-Waist Wolf, and Yang Jin's eyes all lit up at the same time.

With these two brain-domain-evolved wolves wanting to earn points, the northern and southern wolf packs would definitely patrol the territory very actively — what worried Xia Qing most was the western wolf pack.

The western wolf pack was at odds with humans; not only the core territory, even the outer territory didn't allow humans to enter. Conversely, the western wolf pack's outer territory had become the first choice for criminals wanting to hide in the Evolution Forest near the safe zones.

Xia Qing had been busy from morning to night today and wanted to rest early — in four hours, at the deepest part of the night, she still had to get up and work. So she didn't talk directly to the Handsome Giant Wolf playing dumb, but instead spoke to its direct superior: "My lord the Queen, may I send Handsome Giant Wolf to notify the Western Wolf King? If not, who do you think would be appropriate to send?"

The Head Wolf calmly watched the bloody scenes on the TV screen without moving.

Xia Qing nodded happily: "Alright, if you think it's fine, then this matter is in Handsome Giant Wolf's hands."

Yang Jin looked at the Head Wolf and Handsome Giant Wolf, who hadn't moved at all, then at Xia Qing, whose expression was vivid, and laughed along.

After watching all the videos, the meeting ended. Lao Si and Missing-Ear Wolf returned to the house ruins; the three leaders of the northern wolf pack left Territory Three and reunited with the three main battle wolves waiting in Area Three of Mountain Forty-Nine. The five wolves returned to the core territory, and one wolf headed toward the western wolf pack's territory.

After seeing off her companions, Wolf Lao Er began patrolling the territory. In the living room of the abandoned village cottage in Territory Three, only Xia Qing, Yang Jin, and Sheep Lao Da, who was pedaling the exercise bike and showing off its muscles, remained.
