Chapter 1571: Don't Let Children Lose at the Starting Line!

If she hadn't seen it with her own eyes, Yanlong would never have imagined that a dual-system evolution wolf, born and raised in the survival-of-the-fittest Evolution Forest, could have anything to do with words like "cute" and "adorable."

She was already bizarre enough as a wolf instructor, but charging the wolves for training was even more bizarre—bizarre's mother opening the door for bizarre, bizarre to the max.

If she hadn't gone on missions with this wolf just a few days ago, Yanlong would probably have kicked Xia Qing straight to Territory Seven and told Zhang San to check her brain.

Not counting her previous savings, just from the two missions—wiping out Blaze Squad Two on Mountain 67 and capturing Blaze experimenters on Mountain 35—this wolf had earned over 14 million points. Yanlong's entire fortune combined couldn't even match a fraction of that!

So, not charging was absolutely out of the question. Ignoring the Broken-Waist Wolf's unbearably cute expression, Yanlong answered seriously, "They are no longer pups but sub-adults, so they must pay 80% of the training fee according to the sub-adult trainee standard."

The moment it heard there would be a charge, the Broken-Waist Wolf immediately tucked away its little tusk tips and stared seriously at the human powerhouse across from it.

As the human-wolf agent, Xia Qing said nothing more, letting the human and the wolf negotiate the price themselves. No matter how much was collected, she would take a twenty-percent cut as her agency fee.

Heh...

Yanlong explained, "Broken-Waist, you are the leader of a pack, and so am I. Right now, I have forty-seven disabled veterans who are struggling and need me to fund their care, so I need to work hard to earn points."

Some of the words Yanlong used were a bit beyond the Broken-Waist Wolf's understanding, so it turned to look at Xia Qing.

Xia Qing explained, "Sister Yan is the leader of a human squad. Among her companions, forty-seven are sick or injured, their combat power has dropped, and Sister Yan needs to earn points to buy them food and medicine."

Yanlong carefully noted down the words Xia Qing used when communicating with the Broken-Waist Wolf, hoping to achieve barrier-free communication with this pack of wolves as soon as possible.

The Broken-Waist Wolf thought for a few seconds, then wrote two characters on the ground: welfare

Yanlong's magnetic field couldn't help but fluctuate violently. This brain-domain evolution wolf once again refreshed Yanlong's understanding of brain-domain evolved animals: not only could it read and write, it had also studied the human social security system!

Keenly catching the change in that human's magnetic field, the Handsome Giant Wolf's muscles instantly tensed, its body lowered, and it was about to charge in for a fight.

"Big Brother Giant Wolf, hold on, eat something before you fight." Xia Qing grabbed the Handsome Giant Wolf in a hug, stuffed a piece of freeze-dried meat into its mouth, then turned to explain to the Broken-Waist Wolf, "Yes, humans do indeed give welfare to personnel who have contributed to the base. But supplies in the human safe zones aren't enough, so the welfare they hand out can only keep Sister Yan's companions from starving to death. That's why Sister Yan needs to earn points—to buy them more food and medicine."

The Broken-Waist Wolf thought for a few seconds, turned to look at the Handsome Giant Wolf—which had shaken off Xia Qing's paw—then looked at Yanlong.

Seeing that Yanlong didn't understand what the Broken-Waist Wolf meant, Xia Qing continued translating, "Sister Yan, Broken-Waist is asking why the Handsome Giant Wolf isn't being charged for training."

This was something Xia Qing also wanted to know!

"The Handsome Giant Wolf is very strong. When I spar with it, I can learn useful combat techniques from it, so what we do is sparring, not teaching." After explaining the reason, Yanlong's sharp gaze locked onto the Broken-Waist Wolf. "Broken-Waist, how about you and I have a match?"

Xia Qing!!!

The Broken-Waist Wolf thought for a few seconds, then turned to look at the pups.

"Sister Yan, Broken-Waist wants to finalize the training arrangements first." Xia Qing pointed at the Northern Pack members who were going to participate in training and introduced them to Yanlong one by one. "Five members of the Northern Pack—Little Wolf Bro, Little Wolf Sis, Little Four-Eyes, Three Cubs, and Black Three Cubs—are joining the special training. At your eighty-percent rate, that's 40,000 points per pup, totaling 200,000 points. No problem, right?"

Yanlong and the Broken-Waist Wolf both nodded, confirming the amount was fine.

Xia Qing took out a notebook, scribbled down the key points of the agreement. "Alright, special training fee for five wolves is 200,000 points. The training period is?"

Yanlong spoke up, "Twenty-five days. I'll make a call in a bit and apply to extend my leave by one week."

"... Alright, the training period is twenty-five days. Today counts as a trial class, and tomorrow we officially begin. The daily training time is?"

After finalizing the training items and schedule, Xia Qing placed special emphasis on the confidentiality clauses of the cooperation agreement. Once both sides confirmed everything was correct, Xia Qing pulled the Broken-Waist Wolf's flashy pink points card from her pocket, swiped out 200,000, and gave 160,000 to Yanlong.

The remaining 40,000 was Xia Qing's agency fee. By pulling the Handsome Giant Wolf in to take a beating alongside her, she didn't have to pay the 50,000 points for the Handsome Giant Wolf's training, and the training fee she herself had paid was almost earned back. She felt absolutely delighted. "Sister Yan, I've rested enough. Do you want to rest a bit more?"

Yanlong took off her protective mask and sweat-absorbing head covering, grabbed a handful of her thick short hair at the back, "No need, let's go."

"Okay!"

After Xia Qing charged in and fought Yanlong for nine minutes, the Handsome Giant Wolf carried her off to the side in its mouth. She leaned against a big rock and rested until her hands stopped shaking, then took out her phone, snapped a photo, and sent it to Old Four, along with a sticker of the Broken-Waist Wolf grinning.

The Northern Pack had pups, and so did the Southern Pack. That gentle and clever Scarface Pup certainly needed to boost its combat power too! This morning, she was going to earn back the training fee she'd paid Yanlong!

In less than fifteen seconds, Old Four's video call came through. After confirming it was Xia Qing who had sent the photo and sticker, Old Four instinctively leaned close to the phone and sniffed, trying to figure out why she was so badly injured.

Xia Qing, her face a patchwork of blue and purple bruises and sporting a black eye, beamed as she greeted Old Four. "Old Four, I'm receiving training from a human powerhouse. Although I've got some superficial injuries, I've become stronger. The human powerhouse teaching me is Yanlong, captain of the Huiyi Jiao Dragon Special Ops Team. Have you seen her in the Evolution Forest before?"

Xia Qing often chatted with this old wolf and knew that not only was it familiar with the fierce beasts of every territory in the Evolution Forest, it also had some knowledge of the humans who frequently went there on missions.

Old Four nodded solemnly, indicating it had seen a human called Yanlong.

"Old Four, you're really amazing, truly an evolution wolf standing at the top of Blue Star's pyramid." Xia Qing switched the camera so Old Four could see Yanlong fighting the five pups.

Of the pups born into the Northern Pack in Year Eleven of the Cataclysm, a total of eleven successfully survived to the present, and these five currently in special training were the best among them.

Apart from Little Wolf Sis, the permanent teeth of the other four wolves had already grown in fully, giving them powerful hunting and chewing abilities. But their bodies were somewhat smaller than adult wolves, and their movement coordination and teamwork were lacking. So even though Yanlong wasn't using any weapons, the five half-grown wolves were no match for her.

Seeing the speed-evolved Northern Pack pups kicked flying by Yanlong, Old Four—who wasn't wearing a mask—turned its head and let out an "Aowu!", calling over the four brain-domain evolved pups that were studying nearby.

Seeing the Northern Pack fighting a human, the four pups simultaneously bristled and bared their fangs.
