Chapter 1652: Catch the Intruders

After the call connected, Xia Qing asked the serious, furry big head on the screen, "Lao Si, Third Brother and I are at Mountain 49, Zone 5. We just delivered medicine to the blue-faced golden snub-nosed monkey. Where are you? Is something up, calling me?"

Deep in the southern Evolution Forest of Hui-3, the former Wolf King Lao Si stared at Xia Qing and Zhang San on the screen for two seconds, then tilted its head to let Xia Qing see behind it.

Once Lao Si's big head moved aside, the phone screen revealed at least five humans in snow-colored camouflage protective suits, piled on top of each other.

Zhang San was stunned, Xia Qing was shocked, "Lao Si caught the intruders this fast?! Send me your location, I'll send people over right away to clear the battlefield and take stock of the supplies…"

When Xia Qing arrived at Mountain 49, Zone 3, she found that the leader Broken-Waist Wolf had sent was Little Wolf Brother, an evolved wolf with elasticity and brain-domain abilities. The members were three adult giant wolves — Big Guy, Er Ge Zi, and Black Er Ge. The last member was a sub-adult giant wolf and beginner speed evolver, Black San Ge.

Time was tight. Xia Qing didn't bother asking whether Black San Ge counted as a wolf head. She nimbly strapped her backpack onto Er Ge Zi's back, then put a tether on Black Er Ge, swung onto this beginner speed-evolved giant wolf, and raced toward the southern wolf pack's territory.

As the five evolved wolves sprinted south along the beast trail on the outer edge of the western wolf pack's territory, Little Wolf Brother, leading at the front, suddenly stopped, flicked its tail, and ducked under a rock.

Xia Qing immediately jumped off the wolf's back and hid under the rock with the five evolved wolves. Half a minute or so later, she heard the roar of a helicopter — a military helicopter, probably taking Zhang Song back to Territory 7.

Besides Zhang Song and the military helicopter squad, the helicopter also carried Jiang Cheng, a hydrology and geology expert from Red One University, and Zhou Fen, a symbiotic defense and resource zoology research expert from the Red One Research Institute. The wolves had to hide.

After the helicopter passed overhead and its roar faded, three minutes later, Little Wolf Brother looked at Xia Qing.

Xia Qing nodded and handed Little Wolf Brother a piece of freeze-dried meat, "Exactly three minutes. Little Wolf Brother is excellent — you've mastered all the key points of evading helicopters."
