Chapter 1656: Emergency Assembly!

Zhang San nodded. "Fine, but the fewer people who know, the better. Have Xie Yu report directly to the base commander. The base commander will contact me, and I'll request the personnel transfer. Will you take the helicopter back as well?"

Seeing Old Four gesture, Xia Qing replied, "I'll finish the patient's physical and oral examination, then ride the wolf back."

The day after tomorrow, the second batch of the survey team will take helicopters from various directions to the Northern Zone One territory. By then, whether Xia Qing leaves the territory or Zhang Shi moves house, there is a risk of exposure. So Xia Qing decided to handle everything she could on this trip, ideally transferring Zhang Shi and Ye Yiyi to the Western Tiger Group's territory tonight.

Zhang San understood Xia Qing's reasoning and agreed with her plan. "Stay safe. You must return before Xie Yu."

This way, no one would discover that this captured intruder squad had any connection to Xia Qing.

After hanging up the phone, Xia Qing immediately sent photos of the intruder squad to Xie Yu, the Third Leader of the Azure Dragon Squad.

Xie Yu called back quickly, his voice noticeably hoarse and excited. "This is the captain and four members of Fierce Fire Squad 49. Where did you catch them, Sister Qing? What do you need me to do?"

Yang Jin went treasure-hunting on the Ruins Continent, Luo Pei led a team to guard the Mangrove Protection Belt, and Xie Yu, who stayed in the safe zone to handle Azure Dragon Squad affairs, was equally busy.

Xia Qing briefly explained the current situation, then asked, "Captain Xie, which squad is assigned to Mission Point Three on Mountain Twenty-Two?"

The Southern Wolf Group territory belongs to the experimental zone of Territory Seven. Hui-Three Base has issued a long-term mission to protect the experimental zone. Squads with the appropriate qualifications can apply for this mission, patrolling the outer territory of the wolf group to protect the experimental zone's safety.

Xia Qing's current position is roughly ten li from Mission Point Three. If the squad at the mission point is an Azure Dragon Squad member and is reliable, Xia Qing could quickly hand off the mission here and go execute the next one with Old Four.

Xie Yu replied, "It's Sang Chenglin's squad from the Wild Beast Squad. Not reliable. Send me the coordinates, Sister Qing. I'll fly the helicopter over immediately."

After waiting and waiting, he had finally gotten the chance to make contact with the famous former Southern Wolf King, Fourth Brother. Of course, Xie Yu couldn't miss it.

Year Twelve of the Calamity was absolutely his lucky year!

Although the Wild Beast Squad's Level Five Strength Evolver Sang Chenglin ranked 41st on Hui-Three's combat power leaderboard, this guy had gamed his way up there and was indeed unreliable.

Twenty-five minutes later, Xie Yu, piloting the helicopter to Mountain Twenty-One of the Southern Evolution Forest, looked at Xia Qing with eager anticipation. "Sister Qing?"

Xia Qing understood what he wanted to ask. "My team members have already withdrawn. It's just these people. Sorry for the trouble."

They've already withdrawn?!

Internally, Xie Yu was stomping his feet and pounding his chest, but on the surface he remained deadpan. "Got it. Is this a battlefield? Does it need cleaning up?"

Xia Qing replied, "I've already cleaned up the battle traces. You need to add combat sounds and footprints. The wolf claw prints don't need to be cleared. After you finish patching the traces, fire two shots. When the Southern Wolf Group hears it, they'll rush over to drive you away."

This way, the wolf claw prints on the ground would be perfectly reasonable and realistic.

Xie Yu nodded happily, ordered his team members to prepare, then asked, "Sister Qing, do the wounds on the corpses need additional cuts?"

A wolf's killing method is completely different from a human evolver's. If they didn't want to expose that this squad was killed by wolves, they would need to perform secondary treatment on the fatal wounds.

Xia Qing nodded. "Sorry for the trouble."

"No trouble at all. Thanks to Sister Qing and Fourth Brother for letting me grind the leaderboard." Xie Yu, wearing a protective mask, beamed. "Leave it to me. Sister Qing, go handle your business. Give me a heads-up on your way back."

When Xia Qing heads back, Xie Yu will start the official procedures.

Liang Nian from Xie Yu's squad walked over quickly. "Boss, Sister Qing, Mission Point Three is asking about our situation. Mission Point Two has dispatched a Speed Evolver, who is rapidly approaching our position."

Asking questions is normal, but sending someone over is suspicious.

Without his bucket hat, Xie Yu habitually raised a hand and pressed his protective mask down. His voice was gentle. "Sister Qing, withdraw first."

"Got it."

As Xia Qing turned and swiftly withdrew, she heard Xie Yu's ice-cold order: "Cheng Yao, go cut out Number Two's tongue for me."

Cheng Yao ranks ninth in combat power within the Azure Dragon Squad and is the vice-captain of Xie Yu's squad. Xia Qing stepped on stones and tree trunks, trying to leave no footprints, quickly distancing herself from Xie Yu's squad. After reuniting with the Northern Wolf Group squad, she flipped onto a giant wolf and headed for the cliff within Mountain Twenty-Two of the Southern Wolf Group territory.

Old Four had already left half an hour ago. At its speed, the former Tiger King of the Western Tiger Group should have already reached the cliff. Xia Qing needed to hurry over, negotiate terms with the Western Tiger King, and then do a check-up on Zhang Shi together.

Half an hour ago, Xia Qing had also contacted Zhang Shi and told her to get ready.

"Awoo—oooo————"

Before the human-wolf squad had even run out of Mountain Twenty-One's territory, they heard Old Four let out a long, majestic, and resonant howl.

The meaning of this howl was: assemble all Southern Wolf Group members outside the guarded core territory—immediate assembly!

Little Wolf Bro, who was leading the team, stopped and looked back at Xia Qing on Second Brother's back.

Before Xia Qing could speak, Old Four let out another howl with a different tone: "Awoo—oo~oo—oo————"

That tone... when Little Fifth attacked the plucked cub, Broken-Waist Wolf had given the same command when ordering a full assembly!

Xia Qing asked quietly, "Little Wolf Bro, is Old Four calling me to assemble?"

Little Wolf Bro nodded solemnly.

In Old Four's view, Xia Qing was its companion and a member of the Southern Wolf Group. The leader had howled, calling her to an emergency assembly, which meant the wolf pack had detected a situation that required a sniper to handle!

Most likely, Old Four had discovered a second human intruder squad, and their equipment was extremely sophisticated!

Xia Qing decisively ordered, "Little Wolf Bro, respond to Old Four. Tell it our squad is heading over immediately."

"Awoo—oooo————"

After Little Wolf Bro responded to the Southern Number Two leader, it charged forward at full speed.

Xia Qing quickly sent a message to Xie Yu, then put away her sniper rifle and took charge of the squad's long-range protection mission.

The Northern human-wolf squad reached the Southern Wolf Group's assembly point in three minutes. The nine Southern Wolf Group members who had already assembled stood at attention in place, with Old Four at the head, radiating killing intent.

Seeing that Old Four was looking in the direction of Xie Yu's squad, Xia Qing's taut nerves finally relaxed.

Old Four's act was way too damn realistic—it scared the hell out of her!

The Southern Wolf Group's former Wolf King, Old Four, looked at Xia Qing solemnly and let out a majestic, low growl.

A gray giant wolf from the Southern Wolf Group stepped forward a few paces. Old Four glanced at this giant wolf, then looked back at Xia Qing.

Xia Qing understood. Old Four wanted to use this opportunity to drill the troops, and Xia Qing was also required to participate in the exercise...

The points Old Four earned by attending the Yanlong Special Training Class were truly not spent in vain—it had even learned the emergency assembly drill routines of human military units!

Seeing how serious Old Four looked, Xia Qing also became serious.

She immediately jumped down from Big Brother's back, and while fitting a wolf saddle onto this gray giant wolf, she ordered, "Little Wolf Bro, Big Brother, Second Brother, Black Second, Black Third—you all stay here and hide. I'm going with the Southern Wolf Group to drive out the intruders!"

Xia Qing had just climbed onto the gray giant wolf's back when Old Four charged out. The giant wolf carrying Xia Qing and three other wolves followed closely behind.

Missing-Ear Wolf and the Southern Wolf King's mate each led a Southern Wolf squad, charging to the left and right, flanking the intruders with Old Four's squad: Xie Yu's squad, which possessed a helicopter and sophisticated equipment.

Besides Old Four and Xia Qing, perhaps only Broken-Face Little Wolf and Little Wolf Bro could guess this was an exercise. All the other wolves were playing for real!

Wolf Bro led the northern wolf pack squad to take cover on the spot and observe the battle.

At Area 21 Mountain, the senior sniper Bai Liang, stationed at a high point on overwatch duty, urgently reported, "Boss, the wolf pack is charging straight at us. The one in the lead is a high-tier speed-evolved wolf!"

At the same time, Xie Yu's Bluetooth earpiece relayed a message sent by Xia Qing via phone broadcast. Understanding what had happened, he immediately ordered in a grave tone, "Cheng Yao's squad, take cover immediately. All other personnel, grab every last piece of supplies and return to the helicopter—take off! Now!"

Xie Yu didn't need to think to know that if his squad was successfully flanked by Fourth's wolf team, it would be judged as a failed reaction-speed test, and they would lose the chance to cooperate with the core members of the wolf pack's main force!
