Chapter 1663: The Delegation from Guiwu

It was Wu Lianmin's first time giving hand signals to wolf teammates, his face deadly serious while his heart howled inside.

Xia Qing, positioned at the best sniper point, watched Old Four reunite with Broken-Waist Wolf, then switched the walkie-talkie to the wolf team's channel and quietly contacted the wolf team member on this main mission. "Old Four, have you notified your evolved tiger friend to wait inside the cave and not go out to drink or hunt?"

Hearing a human voice from the walkie-talkie on Broken-Waist Wolf's neck, the two evolved wolves behind it let out roars. The old wolf running ahead of Broken-Waist Wolf first turned back to warn its two companions, then solemnly responded to Xia Qing's inquiry, "Awoo."

"Old Four did very well." Xia Qing instructed Broken-Waist Wolf, "Broken-Waist, after you get there, don't eat or drink. Once you reunite with Tenth Sister, have her call Third Brother. She's already installed a signal booster on her end, so we can communicate in real time. Third Brother just sent me a message—the one who poisoned the tiger is very likely the Blue Blood Alliance."

"Awoo?" Broken-Waist Wolf, currently running, voiced a question.

Xia Qing explained, "Third Brother got in touch with Researcher Wang Rujiang, who's locked up in Huiyi Prison, and confirmed the poison in the tiger wasn't developed by him. It's very likely that Qu Fangzhou, the number-two leader of Blaze, transmitted the beasts' genetic information to the Blue Blood Alliance, and the toxin was provided by the Blue Blood Alliance."

"Awoo." Broken-Waist Wolf responded, indicating it understood, and Old Four's expression grew even more solemn.

Xia Qing instructed, "Old Four, Broken-Waist, Blue Blood is a more powerful and more covert organization than Blaze. You must carefully inspect the tiger's territory, don't overlook any suspicious spot, and find a more concealed, safer location so the tiger, Tenth Sister, and Ye Yiyi can move quickly. Broken-Waist, when you collect samples, contact Third Brother directly. You must follow Third Brother's requirements exactly to complete the mission and earn your 1,000 points."

"Awoo!" Broken-Waist Wolf responded, brimming with confidence.

Xia Qing looked up at a small black dot appearing in the sky and quietly instructed, "A helicopter is passing through, stay hidden. The distance between us is about to exceed the walkie-talkie's communication range. If an emergency occurs, contact me by phone."

After ending the call with Broken-Waist Wolf, Xia Qing contacted the southern wolf pack members. "Broken-Face, are you there?"

"Awoo."

"A helicopter is coming. You and Missing-Ear order the wolf pack to form an attack formation against me and the humans, and stay hidden."

"Awoo—woo—woo—" Missing-Ear Wolf's fierce and murderous cry rang through the evolved forest.

Xia Qing gave a direct order, "Captain Hu, take off, conduct alert patrol in safe airspace, maintain mobility."

"Copy." Beard Feng piloted the helicopter, leading machine-gunner Zhang Hongda into the air.

"Buzz—buzz—Professor Zhu Xin from Guiwu Research Institute is calling you. Answer?"

"Answer."

Hearing the announcement in his Bluetooth earpiece, Zhang Song, inside the underground cave, politely spoke after answering the phone, "Hello Professor Zhu, I'm Zhang Song from Hui Three Number Seven Territory Research Institute."

"Director Song, sorry to disturb. The helicopter carrying the 13 members of the Guiwu Base delegation visiting your institute departed safely from Hui Two Base's safe zone two hours ago and has now entered Hui Three Base airspace. It's expected to arrive at your institute in half an hour. Reporting to you in advance."

The lesson of the Red One and Bai One delegation made the experts of the second delegation especially cautious. They strictly followed Professor Fu Tianfeng's team's requirements, reporting their itinerary in advance, making sure Fu Tianfeng's team couldn't find a single flaw, so they could smoothly move into Number Seven Territory.

Otherwise, they'd have to choose between staying outside the territory or paying for expensive lodging at the Number Nine Planting Center staff dormitory.

Zhang Song politely responded, "Welcome Professor Zhu and all the experts from Guiwu to visit and guide our institute. Your helicopter can head directly to the North Area One territory and park in the designated area 190 meters south of the territory's wire-mesh wall. Our reception staff will meet you outside the south gate."

After a few polite exchanges, Zhang Song hung up and discussed with Huo Zhun beside him, "Brother Huo, will you report to Captain Tan?"

The helicopter was coming, so Zhang Song should report to the Inspection Team and ask them to permit the landing.

"Alright." Huo Zhun took out his phone and called Tan Junjie. He'd been a guard at Number Seven Territory for a year and was very familiar with this procedure.

"Captain Tan, the helicopter that stopped and refueled at Hui Two will reach the open ground south of North Area One territory in half an hour. Number Seven Territory doesn't permit them to enter its airspace. If they rashly intrude, don't warn—shoot them down directly. Please…"

Tangzhou…

Huo Zhun's words were so inspiring, Zhang Song raised his hand to give him a thumbs-up, but didn't watch his footing and pitched forward. Huo Zhun skillfully grabbed Zhang Song with one hand and continued his conversation with Tan Junjie, "Please inform the Number Seven Territory reception staff to come to the south gate to collect the people."

Outside the cave, in the air.

The Guiwu delegation's helicopter approached Hui Three Airspace Twenty-Two and began reducing altitude and speed. Xia Qing, hidden in a concealed bunker atop Shanfeng, quickly shifted position, concealed herself, and aimed her gun at the approaching helicopter.

The helicopter's co-pilot reported, "Director, 3,000 meters ahead on the mountain peak, it might be Xia Qing, the top sniper who just emerged last year in Hui Three."

"The manager of that experimental zone at Professor Fu Tianfeng's institute?" Zhu Xin picked up his phone and called Zhang Song again. "Director Song, the helicopter we're on has arrived over Hui Three Mountain Area Twenty-Two, and we spotted your institute's experimental zone manager, Ms. Xia Qing, in this mountain area. Is there anything we can help with?"

Zhang Song walked out of the underground stone cave, stood on the snow, and waved up at the sky. No matter how impatient he felt inside, his tone was that polite. "My junior sister and I are on a mission in this mountain area by order. We don't need assistance. We'll meet in the conference room at 6:15 this afternoon."

"Alright, Director Song really is a capable man with many duties. See you tonight." After Zhu Xin hung up, the Guiwu helicopter sped up and continued forward.

On the helicopter, Zhu Xin stared at the infrared monitoring image he'd just captured, observing carefully for two minutes, and reached a conclusion: the intelligence he'd received might be wrong.

The heads of the several evolved wolves lurking in the shadows were all pointed toward the direction where Xia Qing and Zhang Song were. The two sides seemed to be in an adversarial relationship, not the tamer and tamed beast relationship mentioned in the intelligence.

After the Guiwu helicopter completely left this mountain area, the four evolved wolves hidden under the stone wall finally emerged and rushed forward at full speed.

Thirty minutes later, the mission wolf team climbed the granite cliff of Mountain Thirty-One. The tiger inside the cave poked its head out and locked eyes directly with Broken-Waist Wolf.

Broken-Waist Wolf followed behind Old Four, landed at the cave entrance with a few bounds, and stared solemnly at this sick tiger. Its gaze swept over the tiger's discolored sclera, sparse fur, and swollen joints, then it spoke sternly, "Awoo."

Zhang Shi, standing inside the stone cave, heard the order, immediately picked up her handwritten medical record book and walked out. She stood behind her bodyguard Black-Tail Wolf and introduced the newest patient to her second boss, "Brother Duan, this is the patient Sister Qing and Brother Si asked me to see. Medical record number 12-001, name: Tiger, address: Hui Three Mountain Thirty-One…"
