Chapter 1704: The House Shipped Over by Helicopter

~7 min read 1,305 words

Tan Junjie's solemn, proper voice rang out across the Northern District One, Territory 1-10 lord channel, but the one he was hailing was the lord of Territory Eleven:

"Territory Eleven, this is heavy helicopter LYK1 from Lan One, applying for airspace entry clearance. Do you consent to this helicopter entering Territory Eleven's airspace and landing within the territory in thirty minutes?"

Huo Zhun came online and replied by the book: "Territory Eleven permits helicopter LYK1 to enter the airspace and land. A safe takeoff and landing site has been cleared within the territory, signal lamps have been placed, and Huo Zhun will guide the helicopter down inside the territory."

Hearing Huo Zhun's reply, Tang Huai froze on the spot for two seconds digesting it, then bolted out of the insect-rearing greenhouse and ran toward the neighboring territory.

"Copy."

Tan Junjie continued, "Territory Seven, this is heavy helicopter LYK1 from Lan One, applying for airspace entry clearance. Do you consent to it entering Territory Seven's airspace and landing within the territory?"

Hearing that this helicopter was going not only to Territory Eleven but also to Territory Seven, Tang Huai stopped in his tracks, completely baffled.

Where exactly are Big Boss Wu Chengyu, Huanhuan, and Lele going to live?

Zhang San replied lazily, "Have the helicopter land on time according to ground guidance, otherwise it will be shot down on the spot."

Territory Seven is a P3-grade laboratory; in principle, this helicopter cannot land directly inside Territory Seven without passing strict security inspection.

But the east-west corridor outside Territory Seven's south gate is only ten meters wide, and the iron-mesh wall erected down the center of the isolation belt on Territory Seven's east side cannot accommodate a heavy helicopter's takeoff or landing either, so it can only land directly inside Territory Seven.

Park outside the Northern District One territories to unload, then haul it into Territory Seven? No good. What's being shipped this time is precision instruments with strict handling requirements—the distance must be kept short to avoid unnecessary equipment damage.

"Copy."

After obtaining landing clearance from both target territories, the inspection team first replied to the helicopter that had already entered Hui Three Base's airspace, then used loudspeakers to broadcast an announcement to every territory in Northern District One, asking the surrounding territories to reinforce outdoor installations, shut doors and windows, and suspend any high-altitude work, so as to prevent roofs from being torn off, supplies from being blown away, or people and livestock from being injured by flying gravel and sand in the heavy helicopter's powerful downdraft during takeoff and landing.

After reminding everyone to guard against the danger, Tan Junjie added another line: "Professor Wu Chengyu has asked the inspection team to issue an announcement on his behalf: once the helicopter carrying supplies enters the airspace above Northern District One, all lords are to restrain the personnel within their territories—no photos, no video recordings, and absolutely no leaks. Otherwise you will very soon receive a compensation claim of up to ten million points, issued by Lan One Base in accordance with the law."

Before the crowd had even figured out why taking a photo of the helicopter and sending it out would earn them a ten-million-point fine, Zhang San's voice came through the walkie-talkie.

"Huo Zhun, I'm sending Zhang Jingwu with four men to your territory to inspect the supplies being shipped in by this helicopter?"

The helicopter would first land inside Territory Eleven, undergo inspection by Territory Seven's guards, and only after confirming there were no contraband on board would it take off again and land inside Territory Seven.

Huo Zhun, who had served as a guard in Territory Seven, naturally understood why the inspection was necessary, and replied at once, "Of course. Sorry to trouble you, Third Brother. We'll assist Squad Leader Zhang with the supplies inspection and risk screening."

"Brother Huo, Brother Huo—"

No sooner had he replied to the big boss than Huo Zhun heard Tang Huai wailing outside the north gate of Territory Eleven; with a few leaps he landed beside the north gate and opened it for Tang Huai.

Tang Huai asked eagerly, "Brother Huo, are Professor Wu, Huanhuan, and Lele moving into your territory?"

Huo Zhun replied cheerfully, "Professor Wu lives in Territory Seven; his family and his family dog will be staying in our territory for a while."

Living next door was far better than living inside Territory Seven, because Tang Huai was not on Territory Eleven's blacklist. Still, Tang Huai wanted to press his luck: "Where are they staying? You don't have any spare rooms left here."

Huo Zhun replied cheerfully, "We don't need to prepare a room. Boss Wu is going to have his house shipped over from Lan One."

A precision-instruments research big boss living in a modular, knock-down house—perfectly normal.

Tang Huai gave up hope, and asked eagerly, "So the clanging and banging your dad's been doing in the territory these past few days wasn't blacksmithing—it was laying the foundation for Boss Wu's house?"

On the fog-shrouded east isolation belt of Northern District One, two military off-road vehicles were driving south; even their fog lamps illuminated only a few meters of road ahead.

Suddenly, the battered, beat-up military off-road vehicle in front flipped on its hazard lights, and the driver inside spoke up: "Sorry, Sixth Brother, I have to take a call."

Seated in the back row between the two family dogs, looking considerably better than a couple of days ago, Wu Chengyu replied mildly, "Sister Qing is too polite."

Xia Qing nodded, first used the walkie-talkie to contact Zhang Jingwu in the vehicle behind, then took her phone out of her hazmat-suit pocket.

On the phone screen was a handsome wolf-head avatar, with the two characters "Duan Yao" displayed beneath it.

Xia Qing tapped her Bluetooth earpiece, lowered the phone to make sure the two dogs and one person in the back row couldn't see the screen, then looked down and answered the video call. On the screen appeared the solemn-faced Broken-Waist wolf, sheltering beneath a large rock in the misty Evolution Forest.

Before Xia Qing could speak, a low, rumbling sound came through her Bluetooth earpiece.

After learning that it was a heavy helicopter helping Wu Chengyu move house, Xia Qing had posted a notice in the Blue Star Alliance group chat, telling the two leaders of the northern wolf pack that a helicopter whose sound was different from the usual ones would be passing overhead, so they shouldn't panic.

The Broken-Waist wolf had replied with a "received" sticker, yet still called to ask about the situation—proof that the shock this helicopter had given it was no small thing.

Xia Qing asked calmly, "I'm driving. Is Brother Duan asking about that helicopter in the sky?"

Hearing the address "Brother Duan," the Broken-Waist wolf understood there were other humans beside Xia Qing, so it didn't make a sound, only nodded solemnly.

Xia Qing explained, "The one passing over the northern Evolution Forest is heavy helicopter LYK1, which has already obtained our base's entry clearance; it poses no threat to our base's Evolution Forest. I'm heading to the helicopter's landing site now. Brother Duan, we'll get in touch again if anything comes up."

After the Broken-Waist wolf nodded again, Xia Qing hung up, and briefly explained to Wu Chengyu and the two evolved Border Collies in the back seat, "The heavy helicopter startled a hidden sentry in the northern Evolution Forest."

Wu Chengyu praised, "Planting hidden sentries in the Evolution Forest is very necessary."

Xia Qing replied politely, sped up, and headed for the north gate of Territory Eleven. Just as expected, Xia Qing saw Tang Huai, who had opened the gate together with Huo Zhun and wore an eager smile, and Yanlong standing behind Tang Huai with a thoroughly disgruntled expression.
