Chapter 1709: The First Wolf Instructor on Blue Star

At 5:45 the next morning, the mountain mist was gradually dispersing with the brightening sky. Xia Qing ran quickly around the Third Peak and spotted, far in the distance, a brown-gray evolved wolf standing alone in the center of the special training ground, imposing and murderous.

Broken-Waist Wolf had posted a notice in the Blue Star Alliance group chat last night, but only one human had shown up this morning—Xia Qing wasn't surprised at all.

Because when Broken-Waist Wolf posted the notice last night, it didn't @ anyone and didn't say where to go or what to do. Fourth Brother definitely wouldn't bring the little wolves on a trip, and Daigua's phone was still in Xia Qing's hands, so it couldn't receive the notice. Only Xia Qing, who trains every morning, would run over to see what Broken-Waist Wolf wanted.

Xia Qing reached the edge of the special training ground and was about to ask Broken-Waist Wolf why it had called her over, when the wolf standing in the center issued her an attack command:

"Aow!"

Xia Qing...

"Aow!"

Broken-Waist Wolf issued the attack command again, and Xia Qing stopped asking questions—she dropped her backpack and charged in. This morning, she was going to claim the title of second-strongest fighter in the Northern Wolf Pack!

The moment Xia Qing charged into the training ground, Broken-Waist Wolf sprang forward, its sharp fangs aiming straight for her throat. Xia Qing sidestepped instantly and raised her leg to kick the wolf's least-defended belly.

Broken-Waist Wolf had been prepared—its two hind paws shot forward and stomped down hard.

Broken-Waist Wolf's paws struck Xia Qing's shin with a "thud."

Although neither human nor wolf was using full strength, Xia Qing still felt a clear sting. Because Broken-Waist Wolf's claws had sharp nails—if her protective suit hadn't been high-grade, that strike would have torn open several gashes.

Xia Qing looked up at Broken-Waist Wolf, which had landed on a rock, and suddenly understood. "So you've learned all the moves Jie Sect teaches Handsome Giant Wolf? Broken-Waist, I thought you shuttled Little Wolf Bro and the other three around every day just to watch the fun—turns out you were stealing techniques!"

"Aow!" Broken-Waist Wolf barked sternly again, telling Xia Qing to stop the nonsense and keep fighting!

Though the posture was different, this guy's aura right now...

Xia Qing, who had still been a little unsure, saw Broken-Waist Wolf on the rock raise its left forepaw and try to scratch at Gao Ang's big head, and immediately confirmed it: this guy was imitating human instructor Yan Long.

Because that was exactly the aura Yan Long had when training students—after getting her fill of fighting, Yan Long would take off her gloves and reach back to ruffle her own thick short hair!

Now Xia Qing understood why this clever wolf had called her over so early in the morning, and she was speechless. "Broken-Waist, you're opening a special training class?"

"Aow!" Broken-Waist Wolf, radiating authority, told Xia Qing to stop the chatter and just attack.

Xia Qing chuckled. "You open a class and recruit only me as a student? How much tuition are you planning to charge me?"

Broken-Waist Wolf immediately raised one big paw and tried to spread it open.

"Fifty thousand?"

Broken-Waist Wolf bared its fangs, revealing those adorable, snow-white little tips.

Why don't you just go rob someone! Xia Qing chuckled again. "Same fee as Yan Jie? Look at you, getting all capable. I'll go find Handsome Giant Wolf and ask if it wants to join?"

Broken-Waist Wolf immediately shut its mouth and put on a solemn face.

Xia Qing laughed in exasperation. "So you think you can't beat Handsome Giant Wolf, but you're tougher than me? Broken-Waist, today it's either you or me!"

I'm going all out against you!

The human and wolf fighting so fiercely in the valley that rocks shattered and trees broke not only alarmed the Northern Wolf Pack members patrolling this mountain area and the wolves guarding the bamboo-rat greenhouse, but also drew over Beard Feng and Er Yong, who were responsible for feeding the bamboo rats and cleaning their droppings today. Thus formed a scene: a ring of animals on the mountain, two humans below, all watching.

Broken-Waist Wolf had learned the moves Yan Long had custom-designed for Handsome Giant Wolf, but its size and strength were clearly a notch below Handsome Giant Wolf's, so using the stolen techniques against Xia Qing didn't give it the upper hand. After taking a few hits, this clever fellow changed tactics.

And so, Xia Qing truly experienced Handsome Giant Wolf's fury! But she wasn't Handsome Giant Wolf—when Broken-Waist Wolf jumped to high ground, she threw stones; when it came down, she attacked with fists and feet. The human and wolf gradually shifted from a proper fight to one dodging with leaps and looking for chances to ambush, with neither able to defeat the other quickly.

In Broken-Waist Wolf's view, this counted as its victory.

Xia Qing, seething, didn't want to waste any more time. She turned to grab her backpack and head back to the territory for breakfast and work!

Xia Qing had only taken a few steps when Broken-Waist Wolf, perched on a tree, dropped back into the center of the ground and raised a paw to scratch at the fur on its head.

To maintain the instructor's aura, it couldn't lower its head or tilt it to the side. So the actual effect of this scratch was: its not-very-flexible wolf paw could only ruffle its fluffy big ear.

Xia Qing didn't want to deal with this idiot anymore and kept walking.

Er Yong asked curiously, "Sister Qing, has Brother Duan got ear mites in his ear?"

As for why they were fighting, there was no need to ask. Because Xia Qing, Boss Sheep, and the wolf pack members all just fought whenever they had nothing to do—Er Yong had long gotten used to it.

The human-wolf agent's brain spun quickly, and she answered calmly, "No. Yan Jie left, so it wants to open a special training class to earn points."

Beard Feng...

Er Yong's eyes went wide. "Brother Duan's opening a class? What does it teach? What's the enrollment standard? How much does it charge?"

"I'll get the details and let you know." Xia Qing set her backpack down, walked over to Broken-Waist Wolf, which was still putting on airs, and asked, "Broken-Waist, are you taking other human students?"

Broken-Waist Wolf immediately dropped the act and held out one big paw.

Xia Qing was speechless. "Fifty thousand points? You charge people fifty thousand points for whatever you teach!"

What? Fifty thousand?! Watching the human and wolf whispering in the snow, Er Yong asked quietly, "Boss, do you think our leader will reimburse us for the training fee?"

The battalion commander had repeatedly instructed Beard Feng's squad to maintain a good cooperative relationship with the Northern Wolf Pack. Learning from the pack's second-in-command definitely counted as maintaining relations, so by reason the battle squad should reimburse their training fees.

Beard Feng lowered his voice and answered, "Fifty thousand total is possible; fifty thousand per person is tough."

Er Yong nodded. "I hope Sister Qing can talk the price down a bit."

After the human and wolf whispered back and forth for ten minutes, human-wolf agent Xia Qing posted the recruitment announcement on behalf of Broken-Waist Wolf: "Broken-Waist Wolf's special training class runs 30 days, with sessions from 6 to 8 every morning. Subjects taught are team combat, tree climbing, and fighting. The only squad in the Azure Dragon Battle Squad eligible to sign up is your 10-person squad. The fee is 30,000 points per person. If your entire squad signs up, each person gets a 5% discount. If you sign up, you must sign and abide by a confidentiality agreement."

Broken-Waist Wolf standing beside Xia Qing nodded solemnly.

A fee of a thousand points a day was quite steep. Beard Feng discussed with Broken-Waist Wolf: "Thanks, Brother Duan, for giving us this learning opportunity, but our squad needs to protect Territory Three and monitor Mountain Forty-Nine, so we can't all come to class at the same time. How about this, Brother Duan? We'll sign up for five slots, and whoever has no morning duties will come to the special training."

Xia Qing and Broken-Waist Wolf had already considered this issue. Xia Qing spoke up: "When you're in special training, the Northern Wolf Pack can send members to carry out your missions for you—that's a training benefit."

Beard Feng was silent for two seconds, then asked, "Brother Duan, Sister Qing, can we check with our captain first?"

Broken-Waist Wolf nodded solemnly, and Xia Qing answered, "You can. But aside from the three captains of the Azure Dragon Battle Squad, you must not reveal your participation in the special training to anyone else. Otherwise it counts as violating the confidentiality agreement, and Broken-Waist will seek triple compensation from you."
