Chapter 558: Southern Isolation Belt

Yue Haiying responded excitedly, "Copy that, well done!"

Just as everyone was thrilled that Alliance Leader Xia Qing had successively eliminated three high-level evolved invaders, Kuang Qingwei suddenly sent an emergency on the alliance channel, "Two hired workers in Territory Six set fire on top of the underground warehouse and opened its door. These two were definitely bought off by the invaders!"

Fence-trader Kuang Qingwei had quite a stockpile of unexchanged supplies hidden in his territory. The invaders who managed to collude with people in Territory Six were very likely from Territory Two.

It seemed the refugees who had never shown their faces in Territory Two had picked Territory Six as their robbery target.

Shi Du also reported in, "Invaders spotted entering Territory Ten from the west wall, only three of them, I can handle them."

Yue Haiying ordered, "Ding Hao, stay in position and eliminate invaders charging out of Territory Two trying to enter alliance members' territories. Yin Jie, reinforce Territory Six. Li Kai, take out the arsonists."

The one-legged retired sniper Li Kai, who had come from Territory Fifteen to defend Territory Six, replied calmly, "Taken out, but I can't put out the fire."

Yue Haiying replied, "Copy that. Li Kai, continue the sniper mission. Yin Jie, speed it up. Kuang Qingwei, Zhu Li, watch out for the people around you."

The trembling of the earth was intensifying, the raptors invading the skies above the territories were increasing, and laser cannons and sniper teams were firing at full capacity. Muzzle flashes kept flickering inside Territories One, Six, Eight, Twelve, Fifteen, Twenty-one, and Twenty-five. The territories of Northern Zone One had already fallen into chaotic fighting.

Inside Territory Three, however, it was quiet. Xia Qing gripped her sniper rifle, watching Ding Hao and Yin Jie—members of the Azure Dragon Squad she had hired—fighting the invaders in the alleyway.

The two were no weak fighters, but they couldn't win in a short time either. Xia Qing dialed Beard Feng's number, "Captain Hu, I'm going out to reinforce the other territories. You hold Territory Three."

Beard Feng knew he couldn't stop Xia Qing and immediately spoke up, "I'm coming with you!"

Xia Qing refused, "You keep carrying out the mission of taking out the raptors and defending the territory. You staying is more dangerous than me going out."

Territory Three might still come under attack.

Beard Feng could only agree, "Be careful."

Emergency calls kept coming in on the lord channel and the patrol-squad channel. Tan Junjie's calm, grave voice, amid the artillery fire and beasts' roars, was especially soothing, "The reinforcement squads resisting the beast tide have arrived. The southern defensive line is held. Squad Five, all members; Squad Six, Group One, return to your assigned territories and assist the lords in clearing out the invaders."

"Copy that."

"Copy that."

On the lord channel, Zhu Li's cry for help came through, "Brother Yue, Old Kuang was slashed in the back by a hired worker in the territory. The wound is deep, even the hemostatic agent can't stop the bleeding. Third Brother, can I send Old Kuang to Territory Seven?"

Zhang San replied, "Yes, get him here as fast as you can."

Yue Haiying immediately ordered, "Ding Hao, you escort Kuang Qingwei to Territory Seven."

Azure Dragon Squad speed evolver Ding Hao replied, panting, "Yin Jie and I are under attack, can't reinforce."

"Boom—"

The moment Ding Hao's voice fell, a landmine buried inside Territory Five exploded. Qi Fu put out an announcement, "Invaders have appeared in Territory Five. No reinforcements needed for now."

Before Yue Haiying could respond, Zhu Li in Territory Six began calling for help, "Someone's battering the door, Brother Yue, Territory Six needs reinforcements."

Yue Haiying immediately called out, "Li Kai!"

After waiting a few seconds with no response, everyone knew something had happened to Li Kai.

Strength evolver Shi Du requested to fight, "Brother Yue, Territory Ten is safe for now. I'll reinforce Territory Six."

Yue Haiying rejected Shi Du's request and called Xia Qing, "Outside is in chaos. Shi Du, stay hidden in place. Zhu Li, hold on. Xia Qing."

"I'm already on my way to Territory Six." Xia Qing, running, pressed her walkie-talkie, "Ding Hao, Yin Jie, I'll be in position in half a minute. You two rush to Territory Six to save them. Leave the invaders to me."

"Copy that!"

"Copy that."

Counting the time, Ding Hao and Yin Jie, who were tangled with four invaders on the corridor, struck back fiercely, broke free of their opponents, and sprinted forward.

No one guarding their backs?

nonono, their rear was covered by a sniper!

"Pfft."

"Pfft!"

"Thud, thud."

Hearing the sound of the invaders chasing them from behind falling to the ground, Ding Hao and Yin Jie felt even more at ease. They sprinted at full speed toward Territory Six, slammed open the gate, and shouted, "Territory Six, report position."

Zhu Li's voice trembled slightly, "We're in the hidden cave under the northern buffer forest of the territory. Someone's battering the door."

"Copy that."

Xia Qing set down her sniper rifle and pressed the walkie-talkie button, "The four invaders fighting Ding Hao and Yin Jie have been taken out. Heading to Territory Six immediately."

"Copy that." Yue Haiying replied, "Watch out for the invaders inside Territory Six."

"Understood." Xia Qing responded, and as she passed Territory Five, she heard the explosion of a grenade. Then came Qi Fu's report, "Three invaders in Territory Five have been blown up dead."

When Xia Qing charged into Territory Six, more than ten invaders' corpses lay strewn across the territory, and the great fire above the underground warehouse was still burning fiercely.

When she ran over and saw Kuang Qingwei and Zhu Li—carried out of the cave by Ding Hao and Yin Jie, their protective suits soaked with blood—her heart gave a jolt, "Brother Qing, Sister-in-law!"

Kuang Qingwei had already passed out. Zhu Li, trembling, looked up and saw it was Xia Qing, and tears streamed down her face, "Qing… Qing-jie, I, I killed two of them…"

"Well done." Xia Qing instructed calmly, "Follow me. We won't leave the territory, we'll cut straight across."

Xia Qing led the way up front, pressed the button to report her entry position to Territory Seven, then kicked down the thorn wall erected between Territory Seven and Territory Six, opened a gap, and handed Kuang Qingwei and Zhu Li over to Yan Long, who had come to meet them, "Sister Yan, I'm counting on you."

Yan Long tucked a wounded person under each arm and reminded Xia Qing, "Stay safe."

"Copy that."

Xia Qing immediately returned to Territory Six, found Li Kai—stabbed in the back, lying in a pool of blood—and after discovering he still had faint breathing and a heartbeat, rushed him to Territory Seven for emergency treatment.

After the Territory Six crisis was resolved, Xia Qing was about to ask where reinforcements were needed when she heard heavenly music ring in her ear:

"Territory One lord Luo Pei has cleared all invaders from the territory, requesting to join the patrol squad. Captain Tan, please assign a task."

Tan Junjie's voice remained grave and calm, "Luo Pei, evolved wolves and evolved leopards will reach the evolved forest south of the territory in fifteen minutes. Rush over to reinforce."

"I'll be there in five minutes."

Hearing that the evolved wolves and evolved leopards that had caused this beast tide were coming, Xia Qing also pressed the walkie-talkie button, "Xia Qing requests to head to the southern isolation belt for reinforcement."

Tan Junjie replied, "Xia Qing, stay safe."
