Chapter 728: The Qiang-Reducing Agent Comes Into Being

Under Xia Qing's guidance, the head sheep has become a refined evolved sheep. Even without thorn fences around the terraced fields and farmlands, it would not wander in to gnaw the crops inside.

But to be safe, Xia Qing still used thorn fences to enclose the spinach terraced fields and the green-light peanut terraced fields.

Enclosing the spinach terraced fields was to prevent the head sheep from damaging the most precious crops within the territory; enclosing the green-light peanut terraced fields was to worry that after the peanuts bloomed, their vein needles might accidentally injure the head sheep passing by the field edge.

The crops inside the spinach terraced fields suffered little loss under Yi Shi's protection: there were still 97 plants of the first-generation High-Yi Element Spinach, 48 plants of the X-2 brought back from the base, 66 plants of green-light purple sweet potatoes, and 96 plants of ordinary green-light spinach.

Of the 75 X-2 seeds planted in the terraced fields in early March, 50 seeds sprouted, and among them, two plants were not strong enough and slowly died.

This was a very normal loss; Xia Qing did not feel heartache because she still had the first-generation plant X-1 within the territory. Other lords guarded the X-2 as if it were their own eyeballs; the death of a single plant would make them heartbroken for several days.

Residents in the safe zone who received only two X-2 seeds were even more heartbroken over the death of the seedlings. People without High-Yi Element Spinach seedlings ran to rob and steal from others; such things happened every day, and people died from it every day.

This situation would only be curbed once the first harvest of X-2 seeds hit the market in large quantities.

Besides the 48 X-2 plants in the terraced fields, Xia Qing was also growing 44 plants in the farmland of the hidden valley, carefully tended by Zhang Hongda and Li Kai, who were recovering their injuries there.

The temperature and humidity of the hidden valley were suitable, and the water quality was better than that in the rivers within the territory, but that area did not have High-Yi Element soil, nor was Yi Shi used to isolate the Qiang Element, so the quality of the X-2 there was inferior to that in Xia Qing's terraced fields.

However, the peanuts there were even more vigorous than those in the terraced fields. Indeed, the hidden valley was most suitable for growing peanuts.

This made the allies of the Lord Alliance very happy, because after exchanging with Xia Qing, the yellow-light peanuts they planted in the valley farmland also grew very well.

To thank Li Kai and Zhang Hongda for helping them tend the farmland, everyone would bring them some food they had made themselves when they went to fetch water in the past.

When Xia Qing went there last time, she brought them a few pieces of dried meat, but brought back even more roasted dried meat.

Because Zhang Hongda's body improved day by day, every time Xia Qing went there, she received meat he had caught, roasted, and sealed.

For this three-system evolved ally, Xia Qing was truly satisfied. To help Zhang Hongda recover his body as soon as possible, Xia Qing decided to exchange the Qiang-Reducing Agent she was about to receive for him.

In the middle of last month, Xia Qing and Yang Jin partnered up; the first harvest of Cordyceps fungi cultivated with pollution-free spring water and High-Yi Element vegetables had been harvested and sent to Territory Seven.

According to the agreement signed between Yang Jin and Zhang San, the Green Dragon Squad could obtain ten vials from the first batch of Qiang-Reducing Agents, one of which belonged to Xia Qing.

Xia Qing had already taken the Qiang-Reducing Agent, lowering the Qiang Element level in her body to the normal level before inhaling the toxic gas, so she could not take it again. That was why she planned to give this vial of Qiang-Reducing Agent to Zhang Hongda to enhance the combat power of the Territory Alliance.

Yang Jin was a person who could not stand being nagged. The next day, he brought the Qiang-Reducing Agent and the ledger to Territory Three.

Following Xia Qing into the reception room by the farmland, seeing a small plate of strawberries on the table, Yang Jin smiled, "This year's strawberries are growing even better and more plentiful than last year's."

In May last year, on the very first day Xia Qing formally began learning from Luo Pei, she brought two cucumbers and two strawberries as a gift to become his disciple.

Those two strawberries were indeed not large enough, but they were the best food she could offer at that time, and they were the first and second strawberries to ripen within her territory, representing Xia Qing's sincerity in becoming a disciple.

She smiled and invited Yang Jin to taste them, "I had no planting experience last year; the nutrients and sunlight for the strawberries were insufficient, so the size was a bit small. This year's are not only larger but also sweeter. Captain Yang, have a taste?"

"Good." Yang Jin took off his glove, skewered one with a toothpick, and put it in his mouth; the sweetness of the strawberry, with a hint of sourness, soothed every one of his taste cells.

Yang Jin gave a thumbs-up, "These are the best strawberries I have ever eaten."

Seeing Xia Qing's expression, Yang Jin understood that she thought he was speaking politely.

After eating two more strawberries, Yang Jin took a medicine box out of his backpack and handed it to Xia Qing, "The Qiang-Reducing Agent has been produced; this vial is yours. Keep it refrigerated at 4°C; the shelf life is one month."

"Captain Yang, rest for a while; I'll put the medicine in the refrigerator." Xia Qing was now very knowledgeable; the insulation effect of the medicine box Yang Jin used was average, and she feared it would affect the efficacy of the Qiang-Reducing Agent, so she decided to take it home first.

Yang Jin sat obediently in the reception room. After Xia Qing returned, he took out the ledger and calculated the profits from the first harvest of Cordyceps fungi with her.

"We used 6,003 spinach seeds to hydroponically grow 3,920 spinach seedlings, which produced a total of 【blank】 Cordyceps sprouts. Each Cordyceps sprout sells for 20 points, totaling 【blank】 points."

Xia Qing's eyes lit up as she stared at the ledger, "What is the cost?"

"The cost to build the cultivation room was 630,000; purchasing hydroponic nutrient solution and fungal strains cost 【blank】, labor and security fees cost 【blank】, material fees and drip irrigation facility fees cost 【blank】, and daily consumable fees totaled 【blank】. We each contributed half of the spinach seeds, and the spring water was your equity contribution; these two items are not included in the cost. After deducting the costs above from the revenue, the profit from our first cultivation batch is 【blank】. Take a look."

"Good."

Building a standardized greenhouse only required 350,000 points. Xia Qing had already guessed that building the cultivation room would not be cheap, but she did not expect it to cost 630,000; she was very curious about how those points were spent.

While Xia Qing looked at the ledger, Yang Jin quietly watched her, gently rubbing his fingers together.

In the territory for a year, with ample nutrition and a smooth life, she was no longer thin and gaunt; her hair had also changed from withered yellow to black and shiny.

Like most people, for the convenience of wearing a protective mask, she also kept her hair cut straight to her ears. Yang Jin could tell her hair was cut by herself in front of a mirror; a few strands on top of her head were even deformed by the pressure of the protective mask.

He just really wanted to smooth them out for her.

After Xia Qing finished reading the ledger, she understood why the hydroponic room cost so much, because Yang Jin had built the hydroponic room underground and used the best new materials. "Captain Yang, how many years can this cultivation room be used?"

Yang Jin replied, "If nothing unexpected happens, it can be used for at least 6 years. The cost of regular maintenance is not high, so the profit for our next batch will be even more considerable."

The second batch would have no construction fee for the cultivation room, only daily maintenance fees. Xia Qing nodded, "I remember you signed a two-year exclusive agreement with Third Brother?"

Yang Jin smiled like a cunning fox, "Third Brother is now your ally. As long as he has not overcome the difficulty of mass-producing rare active enzymes, and as long as you are willing to go and talk to him, there is no problem signing an exclusive cooperation agreement for as many years as we want."

Truly a 'Iron Rooster'! He considered everything so thoroughly! Xia Qing asked, "How many vials of Qiang-Reducing Agent were produced in the first batch?"

"520 vials." Mentioning the selling price of the Qiang-Reducing Agent, Yang Jin sincerely admired that big shot from Territory Seven. "Just based on the efficacy of the Qiang-Reducing Agent, even at 80,000 points per vial, there would be many people fighting to buy it, yet Third Brother insisted on selling it for 8,000 points. He is truly very conscientious."
