Chapter 821: Monkeys, Wolves, and Foxes

A wolfhound was crouching at the kitchen door of Territory Three; in the living room, a wolf was lying on Sheep Boss's hammock chair, and another wolf was lying on Xia Qing's hammock chair.

June was almost here, and the living room fireplace was lit with flames again, the temperature inside the house climbing.

The sheep lord of Territory Three was enthusiastically showing off his bicycle-riding skills; who knew if he was hot.

Xia Qing, who was wiping down the protective suits for the three wolves, didn't know why the head wolf wanted to watch the monkey video, but just listening to it made her feel heavy-hearted.

Xia Qing glanced at the paused screen, at the monkey covered in thick black long hair but with a strange big white face and a very blank expression, and asked, "Broken-Waist, what's wrong with this monkey?"

Broken-Waist wolf's smile grew even wider.

Xia Qing began to ponder this smart wolf's train of thought:

Was it showing her that it had learned to use its paw to pause and resume the video? Probably not; it had already learned this skill when ordering takeout two months ago.

Had it discovered this kind of monkey in the Evolution Forest? That wasn't right either; if it had discovered a monkey invasion, it wouldn't be smiling so happily.

Broken-Waist wolf, who had been laughing quite happily, didn't understand Xia Qing's words, closed its mouth and stopped smiling, turned its head, and continued studying.

After this little interlude, the two wolves squatted in unison in front of the small table, seriously watching the video, until the roast duck emitted an enticing fragrance, and only then did the head wolf turn its gaze toward the fireplace.

The duck was probably brought back for the pups to eat.

Lao Er didn't leave with them, staying inside the territory. Perhaps the head wolf figured that since they were coming back tomorrow anyway, there was no need to make Lao Er make another trip.

That night, Xia Qing slept especially soundly. Then, the next day, Xia Qing went to the Ninth Planting Center full of energy, worked with the workers for a whole day, and finished laying the foundation for the new house.
