Chapter 228: Thunderbird Frank's Confusion

~6 min read 1,140 words

Allen gripped the tail behind him, his heart filled with immense shock; the only source he knew for a lightning-shaped tail was the famous Pikachu.

He couldn't understand why he had randomly obtained the tail of a legendary creature like Pikachu.

But now, the most important thing was to verify whether this tail that looked so much like Pikachu's was merely superficial or held real power.

He carefully examined the tail today; it was covered in yellow fur, and apart from its peculiar shape, it seemed to have no abnormalities.

But the next moment, he realized something was wrong; he felt a tingling sensation in his hand, and then saw all the fine hairs on the back of his hand stand on end.

He quickly let go of the tail, tore up some scraps of paper, and brought the hand that had just held the tail near them; the paper scraps immediately adhered to his palm, proving his hand was charged with static electricity—this tail was extraordinary and likely truly possessed Pikachu's abilities.

He looked again at the tail behind him, suddenly feeling his throat go dry; Pikachu's abilities were far more powerful than many spells!

But how does one utilize the abilities of Pikachu's tail?

He began to struggle with the dilemma: should he shout "Ten Thousand Volts," or "Pi—ka—chu—"?

Just then, a knock sounded on the bedroom door.

Mr. Scamander's voice came from outside, "Allen, Professor McGonagall wants you back at Hogwarts this morning; it's getting late now."

"Okay, I know, I'm already up and will come down immediately," Allen replied hastily.

"No need to rush; I have plenty of time," Mr. Scamander said.

Then Allen heard the sound of his footsteps descending the stairs.

Allen breathed a sigh of relief; he only then realized this was not a good place for experimentation and that he should return to his secret base to test things.

So he quickly packed his belongings and cleaned up the room as well.

Then he took his things and went downstairs.

Lady Scamander had already prepared breakfast; they enjoyed the meal while happily chatting about yesterday's events.

Happy times are always brief, and soon it was time to part.

"You have brought us so much joy during this time!" Lady Scamander said emotionally, wiping the corner of her eye as she embraced Allen.

"I am also very grateful for your care over these forty days; I will write to you once I return to Hogwarts, and I will miss you," Allen whispered, comforting Lady Scamander.

"Yes, Allen isn't gone forever," Mr. Scamander said, smiling as he also comforted Lady Scamander, "We can invite Allen to visit again in the future."

Lady Scamander released Allen, her mood improving significantly.

"Alright, go say goodbye to the friends in the manor!" Mr. Scamander reminded.

Allen nodded heavily; having lived here for nearly forty days, he had already established good relationships with many of the magical creatures here.

He walked out of the small building, where his magical creature friends were waiting at the entrance: the Graphorn David, the Demiguise Dart, the Niffler Warren, the Thunderbird Frank...

He bid farewell to each of these magical animal friends one by one; after becoming an Animagus, he felt his bond with these creatures had grown even stronger, as if there were subtle similarities between them.

The Thunderbird Frank was the last to bid farewell to Allen; during the goodbye, a hint of confusion suddenly appeared in its eyes.

After saying goodbye to all his friends, he turned and walked up the steps, intending to reach Hogsmeade Village through the manor's fireplace.

Suddenly, he found he couldn't move; he felt his trousers being pulled.

Looking back, he discovered the Thunderbird Frank had pecked and grabbed the fabric of his trousers right at the position of his buttocks.

His heart skipped a beat; that was exactly where his tail was! When he came downstairs, he had tucked his tail into his trousers; it seemed Frank, born with the ability to manipulate lightning and storms, had sensed his tail.

He felt his tail rapidly hardening,

pushing his trousers high up from behind...

The scene was strange; usually, people bulge their trousers at the front, but Allen, remarkably, had pushed his trousers high at the back.

The situation became extremely awkward.

Mr. Scamander also noticed the anomaly here; thinking Frank was just throwing a tantrum, he hurried over to soothe it.

But Frank was not soothed; instead, it became even more agitated.

Finally, with a "Rip!" sound, his trousers were torn apart by the Thunderbird Frank, and the lightning-shaped tail instantly emerged through the hole.

The Thunderbird Frank let out a happy cry and then tried to get closer to Allen's tail.

Allen quickly ran forward two steps, breaking free from its grasp.

But his tail could no longer be hidden; it stood straight out behind him, its peculiar shape leaving a deep impression.

Mr. Scamander restrained the agitated Thunderbird Frank, but he had also noticed Allen's tail, and his expression grew increasingly serious the more he looked.

"I'll go back to Hogwarts with you in a while!" Mr. Scamander suddenly said.

"Huh?" Allen didn't understand why Mr. Scamander had made this decision.

"I suddenly want to discuss some matters with Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore," Mr. Scamander said, his gaze still fixed on Allen's tail.

Allen had an ominous premonition, but he steeled himself and agreed.

Mr. Scamander and Allen soon returned to Hogwarts Castle, and then Mr. Scamander without delay pulled Allen straight to Professor McGonagall's office.

Before long, Professor Dumbledore also walked in.

"Newt, what is the urgency in calling us here?" Professor Dumbledore asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I discovered something very important, so I called you both," Mr. Scamander said somewhat excitedly.

Professor Dumbledore's blue eyes examined Mr. Scamander through his half-moon spectacles, signaling him to continue.

"I discovered that this child's innate ability underwent a miraculous change after becoming an Animagus."

"Look at the tail behind Allen; this tail contains the power of lightning and must belong to some kind of magical creature capable of manipulating electricity," Mr. Scamander said, grabbing Allen's tail.

Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore hadn't noticed Allen's tail at first, but now they both began to observe its abnormality.

"I have spent my entire life studying various magical creatures, but I can assure you that Allen's tail does not belong to any known magical creature!" Mr. Scamander became even more agitated.

"What does this mean? It means this magical creature is likely either undiscovered or long extinct!"

"And now, Allen's innate ability can randomly manifest organs and body parts of these undiscovered or extinct magical creatures; this will greatly advance the Wizarding World's research into magical creatures!" Mr. Scamander stated firmly.
