Chapter 999
“Sssshhh… sssshhh… sssshhh…”
Several talismans shot through the air and landed before Su Zhen.
These were the eighth- and ninth-grade talismans remaining after He Pingsheng’s Tribulation Crossing.
“I’ll wait for you in the Immortal Realm!”
He Pingsheng’s voice grew fainter, then he soared up toward the seven-colored rainbow bridge.
One end of the rainbow bridge connected to empty void; the other stretched beyond endless emptiness.
He Pingsheng’s figure quickly merged into the bridge and vanished.
…
After ascending the seven-colored Immortal Bridge, He Pingsheng’s vision turned to chaos.
He could see nothing.
His spiritual sense could not extend outward.
Yet he felt the surrounding space spinning rapidly.
He did not know how long it lasted.
Perhaps an instant; perhaps a long time.
Suddenly, a beam of light appeared before He Pingsheng’s eyes.
He opened his eyes and looked around, discovering he was inside a pool filled with misty qi.
He burst out of the pool with a splash.
Then a strange cry came from beside him.
He Pingsheng turned to look and saw a man a hundred zhang away hurling a massive net down over him.
Seeing the net descending like a sky-covering veil, He Pingsheng instinctively prepared to resist.
But before he could act, the net bound him tightly and dragged him to the giant’s side.
“Mortal cultivator who has ascended—do not resist, do not fear!”
“I am the Guiding Envoy of this Ascension Pool!”
“I will not harm you!”
Though the words sounded stiff, He Pingsheng understood them clearly.
After all, he had already learned the common language of the Immortal Realm from the Immortal Light Cui Jue had given him.
“Oh…” the envoy shook his head again: “I forgot—you just ascended and can’t yet understand our Immortal Realm tongue!”
“Here!”
“Wwwww…”
The envoy waved his hand, and a grain-sized speck of Immortal Light shot into He Pingsheng’s mind.
He Pingsheng realized the information within this speck was identical to what Cui Jue had given him.
It contained knowledge of the Immortal Realm’s language and script.
Once fused, he would have learned it.
He Pingsheng made no resistance and fused the light once more.
“Thank you!” he said, peeling off the net while bowing to the envoy.
The envoy chuckled: “No need for thanks—we’re all brothers now… From which world did you ascend, and what is your name?”
He Pingsheng scratched his head: “I don’t know which world I came from. I am He Pingsheng.”
“Oh!” the envoy said. “So you’re Brother He!”
“Not knowing your origin is normal—many don’t know which world they ascended from.”
He Pingsheng asked: “Brother, is the connection between the True Spirit World below and the Immortal Realm’s Ascension Pool fixed?”
“No!” the envoy shook his head. “Any cultivator from any world, upon ascending, may arrive at any Ascension Pool—it’s not fixed, but random!”
“Of course, if some ascenders use an Immortal Artifact like the Ascension Stele, they’ll be sent to a fixed location!”
He Pingsheng nodded.
The Ascension Stele the envoy mentioned was probably the same as the Heavenly Connection Stele atop the Immortal Platform on Spirit Realm’s Tianwang Mountain.
“Brother!” He Pingsheng said: “I have another question—just before I ascended, my wife ascended about two hours ahead of me. Did you see her?”
“No!” the Guiding Envoy chuckled. “Not even two hours—this pool hasn’t seen an ascender in days!”
Alright.
He Pingsheng had wanted to ask about his son and daughter too.
But he didn’t ask.
After all, the hope was slim.
“Brother He!” the Guiding Envoy said: “Here, we belong to the Youhuang Star of the Mao You Immortal Domain. After ascending through this pool, you are now a disciple of our Red Lotus Immortal Valley!”
“Someone will soon take you to the sect.”
“Just wait a moment.”
“Yes!” He Pingsheng bowed.
After about two incense sticks’ time, a fairy in dark green Daoist robes landed beside He Pingsheng.
She exchanged polite greetings with the Guiding Envoy, then looked at He Pingsheng: “You’re He Pingsheng? Come with me—I’ll take you back to the sect.”
“Yes!” For He Pingsheng, joining a sect immediately upon arriving in the Immortal Realm was a good thing.
The woman waved her hand and unfolded a first-grade Immortal Artifact.
It was a green flying boat.
The two boarded the boat and departed; the Guiding Envoy remained to guard the Ascension Pool.
During the flight to the sect, He Pingsheng tried to learn about the sect from the woman, but she was cold and unresponsive.
He Pingsheng, embarrassed, stopped asking.
After about half an hour, the flying boat arrived at a valley.
The valley was vast and open.
Countless jade pavilions and crystal towers stood within it.
Several dazzling array barriers stretched over key locations.
The woman brought He Pingsheng only to a secluded spot at the valley’s entrance, then waved her hand: “See that grand hall ahead? Go inside yourself… ask the Outer Sect Executive Elder for a token. Say you’re newly ascended!”
“He’ll arrange everything else for you!”
“Yes!” He Pingsheng bowed: “Thank you, Sister!”
By the time He Pingsheng finished his bow, the woman had already flown away.
He Pingsheng wondered: Was everyone in the Immortal Realm this rude, or was she just rude?
Ignoring her, He Pingsheng turned and walked toward the hall.
Inside, he indeed saw an old man with an aura of Immortal grace.
“Elder!” He Pingsheng stepped forward and bowed carefully: “I am He Pingsheng, just ascended from the Ascension Pool. A… um… sister brought me here and said I should find the Executive Elder!”
“Hmph!” the old man stomped his foot. “Blue Rain is utterly disrespectful—she should have brought you here herself! Tsk, tsk, tsk… Hmph…”
“Never mind.”
“You’re a new ascender, right? Which Ascension Pool did you come from?”
“Bah, bah… these days, Red Lotus Immortal Valley only has one Ascension Pool!”
The old man waved his hand: “He Pingsheng, eh? Good. Come with me—I’ll make you a number tag.”
The old man led He Pingsheng to a counter, took a jade tablet, and carved into it—He Pingsheng’s name appeared instantly.
“He Pingsheng, drip a drop of your blood into this tablet. From today, you are an Outer Sect disciple of Red Lotus Immortal Valley!”
“There!” the Executive Elder pointed to a stone stele nearby: “That’s the Transformation Stele. It contains the method to convert your True Spirit Qi into Immortal Spirit Qi.”
“Go convert your True Qi first.”
“By the way, you may temporarily use the thirteenth room beside the stele.”
“Once your True Qi is converted, come find me without delay.”
