Chapter 3: Oh My! Heroine, You

As expected.

Bai Fengxia, who had clearly just been feeling guilty for her slip of the tongue that caused her daughter pain, lost her wits again the moment she interacted with Shiqing.

She hurried over, took Shiqing's hand, and said pityingly, "Shiqing, you're living in your room just fine, why give it up? Xixi's living environment wasn't great before anyway; what's wrong with squeezing into the nanny room for now? Don't move, it's too much trouble."

"Alright, Mom."

Shiqing nodded, satisfied, and cast a provocative glance at Xixi.

Originally, she hadn't wanted to reveal her true nature in front of Xixi, but since Xixi had now bound a system and started to awaken, she wouldn't be able to goad her into jealousy and anger without using some heavy-handed tactics.

【Wow! Why is the heroine looking at me with such a provocative gaze? Isn't her persona supposed to be gentle and kind? Heroine, you've broken your character!】

Hearing her daughter's inner voice, Bai Fengxia looked at Shiqing again and, sure enough, saw her looking at Xixi with an arrogant and triumphant expression.

Noticing Bai Fengxia's gaze, Shiqing felt a jolt in her heart and hurriedly blinked, reverting to her gentle, innocent flower persona.

But Bai Fengxia had already begun to harbor suspicions in her heart.

In her impression, Shiqing was clearly a gentle and kind child; why would she want to provoke Xixi?

Could it be that she actually harbored hostility toward Xixi in her heart?

【Oh no, Host! Bai Fengxia's Favorability Value toward you has dropped, currently at 97 points, and her Favorability Value toward Xixi has risen to 10 points.】

The Heartthrob System issued a warning.

【What did you say???】

Shiqing was going crazy. Sure enough, the scene of her provoking Xixi just now had been seen by Bai Fengxia. Damn it! Could it be that this was Xixi's strategy all along?!

A mere Cannon Fodder supporting character has this kind of intelligence?

No!

It must be that system guiding her. Damn it, didn't the Heartthrob System say the opposing system was a little newbie? This is clearly a veteran of a hundred battles!

【Wow, wow! Host, Bai Fengxia's Favorability Value toward you has risen again! It's 10 points now! \(≧▽≦)/】

The Baby System, which Shiqing imagined to be a veteran of a hundred battles, was currently spinning in circles with excitement.

【What? It rose again? Is there something wrong with this Favorability Value appraisal? Why does my Favorability Value rise every time Mom favors the heroine? System, are you malfunctioning? (⊙_⊙?)】

【Ah! Σ(°△°|||)︴No, it can't be...】

The Baby System's voice grew weak.

【Why don't you check it? After all, I didn't do anything; why would Mom's Favorability Value toward me rise? Do you think this is reasonable? The heroine is working hard to perform and earn favor, and I'm just a Cannon Fodder supporting character—can I compare to the heroine's halo?】

The system was persuaded and began to doubt its existence.

It said in a small, weak voice: 【Then, then I'll go check... _(: з」∠)_】

【Go ahead. After all, you're a newborn Baby System; it's normal to have glitches. It's fine, just correct it.】

【Sob, Host, you're so kind! (T_T)】

Seeing his wife begin to doubt her existence again, Luo Zhennian turned back to Xixi and said, "Xixi, the room matter was your mother's and my oversight. Tonight, go sleep in your third brother's room first. He's out filming anyway and won't be back for a few days. Tomorrow, your mother and I will have the room cleared out for you."

"Okay, Dad. (⊙v⊙)"

Xixi agreed obediently.

【She actually isn't making me sleep in the nanny room; Dad still has a bit of a conscience.】

Hearing that his daughter was not only not angry that they had forgotten to prepare a room for her, but was satisfied just by not having to stay in the nanny room, made Luo Zhennian feel even more pity for this daughter.

He secretly swore to treat Xixi well from now on.

【Host! Host! It rose, it rose! Luo Zhennian's Favorability Value toward you has also risen to 10 points!! ╰(*°▽°*)╯】

The Baby System excitedly reported the good news to Xixi again.

Xixi, however, remained completely calm and even said kindly to the Baby System: 【Tong'er, be a good boy and go fix your system first.】

Ridiculous!

She just said "Okay, Dad," and the Favorability Value rose by 5 points.

This halo is even more dazzling than the heroine's, okay!

It's too fake!

【Sob... ╥﹏╥】

The system knew Xixi suspected it was malfunctioning, so it shrank back.

On the other side, Shiqing also received the news of Xixi's Favorability Value increase. She nearly ground her teeth to dust, but upon hearing that Dad had arranged for Xixi to stay in the third brother's room, a plan began to brew in Shiqing's heart.

At night.

Xixi lay on the soft, large bed and looked for the system to gossip.

【Tong'er, what fun plot points are there tomorrow?】

With a ding, the system came online—

【Host, tomorrow your eldest brother, Luo Xichuan, will come home. He bought necklaces of equal value for you and the heroine. According to the plot, you will think the heroine's necklace is better and insist on snatching the necklace the heroine is wearing around her neck. After being stopped by the Luo Family, you will remain unreconciled and run off to steal the heroine's necklace at night. Then, after the Luo Family finds the necklace, you will blame your eldest brother for being biased and giving you an inferior product, and your eldest brother will grow to loathe you even more.】

【Sigh, anyway, after I come home, I'm just courting death all the way to set off the heroine's kindness and innocence.】

Xixi complained listlessly.

【There's no help for it, Host. This story was born around the heroine. Xixi's existence is meant to set off the heroine's purity and kindness; naturally, the more vicious and brainless, the better.】

【But this is too dumbing-down. Can I not do these things? Anyway, this world revolves around the heroine; the world will definitely find a way to fix the bugs and keep the plot moving. I'll just continue to slack off.】

The system quietly checked Xixi's Data Panel and said, somewhat unwillingly: 【Host, are you really not planning to try a little harder? It's only been one day, and the Luo parents' Favorability Value toward you has already risen by 10 points. This is a good omen!】

【This is clearly you malfunctioning; the data is displaying incorrectly.】

【No, I checked; the data is fine.】

【Then you didn't check carefully enough.】

【... Is that so?】

【Otherwise, how do you explain that Mom and Dad are clearly so biased toward the heroine, yet my Favorability Value still rose?】

【This... this is indeed very strange.】

【So it must be a malfunction in your system, be good, go fix it again.】

【Oh...】

The Baby System was once again bamboozled by Luo Xixi, and then it silently went offline.

At night.

Luo Xixi was sleeping soundly when suddenly, she felt something pressing down on her; when she woke up in a daze, she saw a dark shadow looming over her.

Ouch!

What the hell is this?

Luo Xixi shuddered in fright, and the system immediately came online to tell her.

【Host, it's your third brother who has returned!】

【Oh! So it's my wretched third brother! This kid comes back and doesn't turn on the lights, acting like a ghost here; if he scares me into a heart attack, is he going to take responsibility?】

Hm?

When Luo Xinian heard these words, a trace of confusion flashed in his eyes.

Where did that voice come from?

And "wretched third brother"?

Looking at Luo Xixi again, this woman's mouth hadn't moved just now; what was going on?

【Damn! This wretch wants to throw me outside the villa to freeze all night? Is he even human!!!】

??!

The voice came again!

Luo Xinian felt shocked and uncertain in his heart.

He was now certain that Luo Xixi had not spoken, so could this voice be her inner thoughts?

Furthermore, how did she know he wanted to throw her outside the villa to freeze all night?

Heh.

It didn't matter how she knew.

Just as Luo Xinian was preparing to continue with his plan to knock Luo Xixi unconscious and throw her outside the villa, who would have expected—
