90. Chapter 90: Deceived Once Again

Hearing Luo Xichuan's words, Luo Shiqing's heart immediately skipped a beat.

She grew somewhat nervous, looked at Luo Xichuan with concern, and asked, "Big Brother, what do you want to talk to me about?"

Luo Xichuan's attitude was quite serious, his voice cold and calm, as he said, "Let's go to the balcony to talk."

After saying this.

He didn't wait for Luo Shiqing to respond and walked toward the balcony first.

"..."

Seeing Luo Xichuan's attitude, Luo Shiqing realized what this person wanted to do. Her hands hanging by her sides couldn't help but clench into fists, her gaze darkened slightly, and then she followed Luo Xichuan to the balcony.

Arriving at the balcony.

Luo Shiqing looked at Luo Xichuan's back and asked again, "Big Brother, if you have something to say, just say it directly."

Luo Xichuan turned around to look at Luo Shiqing. He didn't waste words with her and got straight to the point: "Shiqing, you went out twice before. You said you went to a friend's house, but I had someone look into it and discovered you didn't go to a friend's house, but went to see Sheng Tinglan instead, didn't you?"

!!!

Although she had anticipated that Luo Xichuan was going to have a showdown, hearing him actually say it made Luo Shiqing's heart race even faster.

【Damn it! This Luo Xichuan is actually here to have a showdown with me! He wouldn't be thinking of exposing me directly, would he? This damn guy, why doesn't he just go die sooner!! System, what should I do now?!】

The Heartthrob System came online and said to Luo Shiqing: 【Host, calm down. Since Luo Xichuan knew you were associating with the male lead early on but didn't say anything to the others at the dinner table just now, it means there is still room for maneuver. You must restrain him first and not let him make your affairs public; this way, you can still continue to follow the plot.】

【Okay, I understand!】

Luo Shiqing pursed her lips, and tears immediately welled up in her eyes. She sniffled while looking at Luo Xichuan, appearing heartbroken and incredulous, and said, "Big Brother, you actually sent people to investigate me? I am your younger sister. We have lived together for 20 years, and you actually investigated me? In your heart, do you even still treat me as your family?"

Luo Xichuan hadn't expected that even at this point, Luo Shiqing would still turn the tables on him.

However.

After all, having lived with Luo Shiqing for 20 years, Luo Xichuan still felt some pity for this younger sister and didn't want to burn all bridges. He said, "Shiqing, of course I treat you as family, but your recent behavior has been truly too strange, which is why I had someone investigate. Now, do you have anything to say about you knowing Sheng Tinglan? Sheng Tinglan bought trending searches behind the scenes to release black material to smear your sister; you couldn't possibly be unaware of that, right?"

Luo Shiqing blinked innocently and said, "If I said I was unaware, Big Brother, you wouldn't believe me, would you?"

Luo Xichuan gave a bitter smile, "If you had said these words before the second time you met Sheng Tinglan, I would have believed you. But after the smear incident happened, you were still associating with Sheng Tinglan; how do you explain that?"

Luo Shiqing hurriedly said, "Big Brother, you've misunderstood me! The second time I went to find Sheng Tinglan, it was because I learned he was the one smearing my sister behind the scenes, and I went to confront him! I also really wanted to know why he would do such a thing. It wasn't until today, when my sister said at the dinner table that she vomited twice in front of Sheng Tinglan, that I finally knew the reason. It turns out Sheng Tinglan holds a grudge against my sister and that's why he is retaliating and smearing her. Do you really think, Big Brother, that I could make Sheng Tinglan take action to smear my sister? How could I have such great ability? The other party is the high and mighty President Sheng; what am I?"

"..."

Hearing Luo Shiqing's defense, Luo Xichuan was stunned.

Although he still doubted the truthfulness of Luo Shiqing's words, this explanation of hers seemed to have no flaws. After all, the reason he believed Sheng Tinglan was doing this for Shiqing was because of the conclusions he drew from hearing Xixi's inner voice.

Because the "male lead" Xixi thought of in her heart was Sheng Tinglan, and the "female lead" was Shiqing. Xixi had also thought that Sheng Tinglan would eventually destroy the entire Luo Family for Shiqing's sake.

It was precisely because he heard Xixi's inner voice that Luo Xichuan had a preconceived notion and felt that Shiqing and Sheng Tinglan were in cahoots.

But Luo Xichuan still didn't know what the basis for the stories in Xixi's heart was. What if these were all just her fantasies? After all, Xixi thought they would dislike her, but in reality, everyone cherished her; this already differed from what she thought in her heart.

Could it be that the "plot" between Shiqing and Sheng Tinglan also had deviations?

This point.

Luo Xichuan truly hadn't thought about it carefully.

Seeing Luo Xichuan hesitate, Luo Shiqing quickly pressed her advantage, continuing to act aggrieved and pitiful as she choked out, "Big Brother, I don't know whose slanderous words you listened to, but I am not as bad as you think. I did meet Sheng Tinglan; the first time was at a bar. I was very sad at the time, got drunk, and had an encounter with that person. The second time I saw him was because my sister was being smeared, and I couldn't stand it, so I went to ask him for the reason. But that person didn't take me seriously at all. At the time, I was just a lone woman, do you know? I almost..."

By the end, Luo Shiqing couldn't speak at all. Her tears fell drop by drop, as if she had suffered a great injustice.

"Shiqing."

Seeing his younger sister crying, Luo Xichuan ultimately couldn't bear it.

He apologized to Luo Shiqing, saying, "I'm sorry, Shiqing. It's Big Brother's fault for not investigating clearly before presumptuously suspecting you. It's just that there were too many suspicious points. When you went on that Wilderness Survival variety show, Sheng Tinglan also bought internet trolls to smear Xixi, but those people kept defending you. Because of all these things, I..."

Luo Shiqing hadn't expected Luo Xichuan to have investigated so thoroughly. She continued to use her tear offensive, feigning innocence as she said, "Big Brother, I didn't know any of that! When I was on the Wilderness Survival variety show, I had only met Sheng Tinglan once. How could I possibly make him act for me? I don't know why he would do that either, but that person said he wanted me to become his woman. I refused, but he said I would agree sooner or later. I think he perhaps felt that doing this would please me, but this was truly not my intention."

"That person actually said that to you? And you still went to find him alone the second time? Are you stupid?"

Luo Xichuan frowned.

Luo Shiqing wiped her tears, looking pained as she said, "I was just too angry at the time and couldn't care about anything else. It wasn't until I got there that I realized how stupid I was. I should have told you and the others sooner, but I was worried you would suspect me, so I kept hesitating. But I never expected that you, Big Brother, would investigate me behind my back..."

"I'm sorry, Shiqing."

Luo Xichuan apologized to Luo Shiqing again.

Luo Shiqing shook her head, forced a smile at Luo Xichuan, and said, "Big Brother, I don't blame you. You were just worried about my sister. As long as we clear up the misunderstanding between us and you are willing to believe that I am innocent, that is enough for me."
