First Volume, Chapter 52: Collision with the Dragon's Body

Ning Hu's eyes brimmed with fury and despair—Xie Yun'er, for Qin Feng's sake, actually dared to strike at him?! In an instant, Ning Hu's expression shifted several times; he suddenly yanked hard, dragging her and the whip right up to him.

Xie Yun'er was equally stunned—Ning Hu, to fight over a man, actually dared to attack her?! He'd always claimed to adore her—bullshit. All men were big pig's trotters; believing a man's mouth was worse than believing ghosts existed. Xie Yun'er didn't hesitate—while being yanked through the air, she kicked straight for Ning Hu's face.

Ning Hu didn't dodge or evade; his other hand seized her foot, preparing to hurl her away—but Xie Yun'er had trained since childhood, her martial skill formidable; she instantly twisted midair, launching her other foot in a flying kick.

Ning Hu bent low to avoid the kick, then shoved hard, flinging Xie Yun'er away.

Xie Yun'er spun several times in midair, landing steadily, her posture light as a swallow in flight.

Xie Yun'er cursed inwardly—today was pure bad luck; why did everyone seem to be targeting her? After all this turmoil, her short temper flared; she shrieked angrily: "You want to die?!"

As the words left her lips, her whip whipped wildly, emitting a rapid series of "papapa" sounds—terrifyingly loud.

Ning Hu was the offspring of a military general, a martial genius; across all of Jingdu, few could subdue him except those hardened generals who had fought for years on the battlefield.

Facing Xie Yun'er's flying whip, Ning Hu dodged, twisted, leapt, bent, and spun midair—none of her lashes struck him. The Cool Pavilion's ground, however, suffered terribly; each lash struck with immense force, shattering the blue stone slabs, sending shards flying everywhere.

The instigator of this conflict now clung to a pillar, eyes gleaming.

"Holy shit, are you guys filming a movie right in front of me?"

In Qin Feng's understanding, "martial arts" served mostly to strengthen the body, lacking real combat effectiveness; otherwise, in his world, so-called martial arts masters wouldn't be beaten so badly by fighters that their own mothers wouldn't recognize them. What he saw now had utterly shattered his understanding.

After a moment of dazed confusion, Qin Feng snapped to awareness.

This was the difference between "martial arts" and "cultivation skills"? One character changed everything.

These two, if placed in Qin Feng's world, would sweep every freestyle fighting championship.

Qin Feng grew excited, nearly ready to cheer—until Xie Yun'er's whip cracked across his head. He looked up: the stone pillar bore a groove nearly a centimeter deep. He nearly pissed himself on the spot.

Reason told Qin Feng: this was no time to be a Chiguo spectator. Whoever won, he'd be in deep trouble.

Qin Feng immediately slipped away, leapt down from the Cool Pavilion, and sprinted toward the Door without looking back.

You fight your fight—I'm going back to the mansion to play Landlord with the maids. I've got no time to babysit you.

Seeing Qin Feng flee, Li Rui stamped his foot in panic—this was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to use others as knives to kill! How could he let it slip? He shouted at Ning Hu: "Young Master Ning… Little Marquis… Ning Hu! Qin Feng's running away!"

Ning Hu was fully occupied battling Xie Yun'er—he had no attention to spare for Qin Feng. Xie Yun'er noticed Qin Feng escaping, but dared not divert even an inch of focus.

One side fought fiercely, the other fumed helplessly.

Qin Feng ran toward the Door while pointing at Li Rui, threatening: "Stop yelling. I can't beat Ning Hu or Xie Yun'er—but I can beat you. Say another word, I'll slap your face."

Li Rui gritted his teeth, helplessly watching Qin Feng flee from the Pian Yuan.

As Qin Feng ran out, he glanced back—and saw Ning Hu and Xie Yun'er chasing him. His heart dropped; he sped up—then, as he turned, a figure appeared right before him. Too close to react—he crashed straight into them.

The other person didn't budge; Qin Feng felt like he'd hit a wall and fell flat on his back.

Normally, this would've been fine—he could've just apologized. But today was different: behind him, a feral little tiger and a violent madwoman. Whoever caught him would grind him into the dirt—he couldn't even run, and now he'd collided with someone? This was pure bad luck.

Qin Feng rubbed his dazed head and muttered involuntarily: "Worl—"

No sooner had the word left his lips than a "shushshush" sound filled his ears. When he looked up, seven or eight long sabers were already pressed against his throat.

"How dare you!"

At the roar, Qin Feng snapped awake—his back instantly soaked in cold sweat.

Before him stood over a dozen Imperial Guards in brocade robes; seven or eight held long sabers at his neck—any movement, and his head would fall. Another seven or eight stood beside a middle-aged man, standing at attention.

The middle-aged man wore a dark red robe, crowned with a jade cap, radiating noble bearing; he lowered his head, studying Qin Feng with keen interest.

Seeing the man's face, Qin Feng's heart sank halfway—no one else but the Liang Emperor.

Beside the Liang Emperor stood a young man in black clothing, quietly pulling out a small notebook and writing something, muttering: "The Sage travels, son of the Minister of War, Qin Feng—collided with the Dragon's Body…"

Holy shit—so anyone who offended the Sage was being recorded in that little book, for later reckoning? Recalling his earlier behavior in the Imperial Study, Qin Feng realized his every word and gesture must've been logged. If they came for him later, Nine Clans Extermination wouldn't be enough!

The Liang Emperor waved his hand—every Imperial Guard stepped back.

Seeing Qin Feng staring fixedly at the Black-Clothed Man, the Emperor smiled lightly: "Don't be alarmed. He's merely a historian, recording the history of our Shedynasty for future generations to admire."

I believe your bullshit! Qin Feng trembled inside—the Liang Emperor always smiled, appearing approachable, but he was a ruthless bastard; he'd smile, and you'd vanish. It was terrifying.

The Liang Emperor stood with his hands behind his back, smiling gently: "Everyone is in the Front Courtyard celebrating Ji Wang's birthday. Why are you here?"

Qin Feng thought: Shouldn't I be asking you that? As the Sage, even to honor Ji Wang, you'd send a written Imperial Edict and gifts—why did you… come in person?

Qin Feng's mind was full of questions, but his face showed no hesitation: "Your Majesty, someone was chasing me—I had no choice."

At these words, the surrounding Imperial Guards instantly tensed.

The Liang Emperor blinked slightly: "This is Ji Wang Fu. Who dares act so boldly?"
