First Volume, Chapter 95: We're All Family

The goatee-eyed man squinted at Jing Qianying; though he knew the Qin Family Fourth Miss had trained in martial arts since childhood, he looked down on her as a mere woman and sneered: "If you're wise, we'll coexist in peace. If you refuse to take the offer, don't blame us if you lose limbs."

Qin Feng clenched his lips, pondered long and hard, then made up his mind: "Sis, maybe we should back down? They said if we're reasonable, everything's fine…"

"Shut up! You spineless fool." Jing Qianying cut him off with a cold rebuke. How could a Qin descendant be so cowardly? Where was even a shred of honor?

Jing Qianying glanced at the goatee man, calm and composed: "The Qin Family's Young Master has been summoned by the Sage. Who gave you the nerve to block the road? Step aside at once—or be killed on the spot!"

At these words, the goatee man's eyes turned instantly fierce: "You refuse the offer? A mere woman—where do you get your nerve?"

Almost before the words left his mouth, Jing Qianying struck first—her left hand swept through the air, and three sleeve darts shot out, aimed straight at the goatee man's vital points, her opening move lethal.

The goatee man never expected Jing Qianying to attack so fiercely—let alone with such brutality.

Yet the goatee man was no fool; after a moment of panic, he swung his sword and deflected two darts, dodging the third with a sidestep.

Just as he regained his composure and prepared to sneer, his smirk froze on his lips.

Those three darts were merely feints; while the goatee man was distracted defending, Jing Qianying had already surged toward the right flank.

The other seven were all experts, yet against Jing Qianying's rapid sword art, they had no defense—she slashed forward, slashed backward, and in an instant, two lay dead.

By the time the remaining few regained their wits, Jing Qianying had returned to Qin Feng's side, her left hand flicking rapidly.

Ding-ding-dang-dang…

With the crisp sounds, the two on the left flank struggled to block, but against the relentless barrage of sleeve darts, they were struck.

Even though the hits weren't vital, they immediately collapsed, dead.

Only then did they realize: Jing Qianying's sleeve darts were coated in deadly poison—even the goatee man, the strongest among them, felt a chill of dread.

This woman seemed born for slaughter—every strike aimed to kill.

In the blink of an eye, half of the eight blockers were down; the remaining four stood on guard, too terrified to advance.

The air, thick with deadly intent, echoed with Qin Feng's Beidi War Horn.

"Holy crap, Fourth Sister, you're insane! I'm your biggest fan—with you here, I fear no one!"

Qin Feng bounced around Jing Qianying in excitement, shedding his earlier cowardice, smirking at the goatee man: "Come on then? This Young Master's right here waiting—dare you come closer? Hmph, with my Fourth Sister here, you maggots aren't even worth a second thought."

The goatee man's face flushed white with rage, yet he felt utterly bewildered.

What in the world was this Qin Family Fourth Miss? How could someone so young be this powerful?

Those four who fell so easily were among the Imperial Guard's top fighters.

Dammit—a Fourth Miss nearly unbeatable in combat, a Second Miss with astonishing business acumen, the eldest sister Shen Qingci favored by the Chang Princess for her poem "Zui Hua Yin," and now this madcap Qin Feng.

The Qin Family truly hides dragons and tigers!

Jing Qianying shook her sword; only then did they realize—her blade was spotless, so fast was her strike.

Under the goatee man's tense gaze, Jing Qianying's face remained expressionless, coldly stating: "Final warning—get out of my way."

The goatee man was caught between advance and retreat; even if he died here on the street, it would be his own misfortune—who dared block the Sage's summoned?

At that moment, a cool voice rang out: "No wonder you're the Fourth Miss—your skill is truly remarkable."

Everyone turned to see a young man slowly approaching from the right side path.

Around twenty-four or twenty-five, dressed in White Clothes, his head bound with a silk headband, his eyebrows sharp as swords, his eyes bright as stars, radiating martial vigor. He held his arms crossed, cradling a plain iron sword—clearly an expert.

Jing Qianying's gaze showed no reaction; she merely watched the young man, then warned Qin Feng: "Find your chance—run."

At those words, Qin Feng's heart sank—he gasped: "Even you can't beat him?"

Jing Qianying replied coldly: "I can kill him—just can't spare the energy to protect you, you brat. His nickname is White-Cloaked Guest; among all of Jingdu, his martial skill ranks in the top ten. He's a retainer of the Second Prince."

Second Prince? Qin Feng instantly understood. As soon as the White-Cloaked Guest stepped onto the Official Road, Qin Feng rushed over, bowing with a grin: "Oh! So you're the Second Prince's man? What a coincidence—we're all family! I didn't recognize you!"

The White-Cloaked Guest had braced for battle, but Qin Feng's sudden move left him frozen—neither attacking nor standing down.

Qin Feng deliberately shouted loud enough for all to hear: "Fourth Sister! It's all a misunderstanding! These men were sent by the Second Prince—probably worried about my safety on the road, so they came to escort me!"

Though the White-Cloaked Guest was a master, he had no defense against Qin Feng's brazenness; this shout made everyone believe the Second Prince had ordered a street assassination—and if it reached the Sage's ears, the Second Prince's claim to the Crown Prince title would be over.

The White-Cloaked Guest could only swallow his hatred, sheathe his Sword, and force a smile worse than a sob as he bowed back: "The Young Master is right—it's all a misunderstanding. We came solely to escort you to the palace, with no ill intent."

"No ill intent?" Qin Feng nearly burst out laughing.

Qin Feng had suspected the Second Prince would strike soon—after all, Zui Xian Lou and the Dragon-Tiger Gang, his two money trees, had already been seized by Qin Feng, and now he'd reached into the sugar trade. Even the most patient prince would have to retaliate.

But Qin Feng gave him no chance—staying locked in his mansion, never stepping out.

Now, summoned by the Sage, he finally left—and brought Jing Qianying with him…

Since the window between Qin Feng and the Second Prince had to be shattered eventually, why not do it today?

Qin Feng glanced at the four corpses in the blood, feigning remorse, then called Qin Xiaofu over: "Oh no! What a mess—it turns out they were family. But honestly, it's your fault too—if you were here to protect This Young Master, why not say so earlier? I thought you were assassins trying to ambush me!"

"Xiaofu—pay each of them one Liang Silver for funeral expenses!"
