Chapter 1401: The Chessboard Can Reverse the Gate of No Boundary

"Not fighting again, how annoying." The Monarch muttered irritably. For a Monarch who only enjoyed hacking people to pieces, stopping a battle before it even began was incredibly dull.

Yet, he had to admit that many things could not be solved by hacking. For instance, the information about the Ancient Time-Space Dragon had been coaxed out of it by Anthony in just a few words—far more effective than his hacking.

After muttering a few more complaints, he hauled Anthony back.

Not long after, a puppet snake slithered toward them from the direction of the Star of God.

Under normal circumstances, facing the main body of a Guman Snake did not carry the same sense of oppression as facing a puppet snake. The Guman Snake's main body was simply too large; it was like an astronomical phenomenon, boundless to the eye, making it impossible to feel that specific pressure.

The puppet snake, however, was like a mountain range planted right in front of you, ready to collapse and crush you at any moment, full of oppressive weight.

Anthony and Negris exchanged a glance, as this puppet snake happened to be Ang's—what a coincidence.

Anthony asked calmly, "Are these all your clones? Why does it feel like there are so many of them?"

"Indeed, there are many, and they are all my clones," the Guman Snake replied.

Anthony asked, puzzled, "What is the mechanism behind this? As undead, we can usually only activate one clone at a time; if we activate one, the others cannot move. But yours don't seem to be like that."

Although the Guman Snake didn't understand why Anthony was suddenly asking these things, it didn't care. This wasn't a secret; it was just a characteristic of the puppet snake. It was like telling someone that humans can give birth to children—does the fact that humans can give birth affect a rooster's ability to lay eggs? Not at all.

"They are all independent. Without me, they can still move. Only when I need to do so do I occupy them, and then they become my clones," the Guman Snake replied.

"Ah, doesn't that cause interference? Won't it affect their consciousness? How do you balance two consciousnesses in the same body?" Anthony asked curiously.

The Guman Snake's consciousness scanned Anthony repeatedly, then asked with some confusion, "Why do you ask such low-level questions? Your master is also a Lord of Stars; he can do exactly the same thing."

"It's different. My Lord is an undead creature; from the very beginning, he could project his will onto any of his subjects through soul connection. These are his subjects, but these Puppet Snakes don't seem to have a subordinate relationship with you, so I don't quite understand. This has nothing to do with my Lord; it's just my curiosity as a human," Anthony said.

The Guman Snake thought for a moment and said, "The puppet snake is an individual grown by grafting my branches onto the World God Tree. Although there is no soul connection, I can control it; it is my puppet."

Anthony suddenly realized, "So that's what it means. That's why they are called puppet snakes. Does that mean as long as they are far enough away from you, you cannot control them, and they become free individuals? Or if you die, they become free individuals?"

The Guman Snake couldn't help but size him up again, then said reluctantly, "Yes, but it won't be that easy to make me die."

Anthony quickly said, "No, no, how could we want you to die? We are friends, friends. Lord Guman Snake, please look, this is the Gate of No Boundary."

As Anthony spoke, he brought out the barrier of the Gate of No Boundary to show the Guman Snake, causing the Guman Snake's skin to wrinkle: "This is the Gate of No Boundary? It's so small?"

Anthony said with a wry smile, "There should be a way to make it larger, but my strength is insufficient, and I cannot figure out how to use it."

"You still need to figure it out? Just ask it directly. This is the Gate of No Boundary; it should have consciousness," the Guman Snake said.

Anthony was stunned: "How do you know it has consciousness? Didn't you say you didn't believe in such things? Have you seen it before?"

"Of course, the Ancient Time-Space Dragon told me. But I didn't believe its words; I don't think this place is a Boundless Prison. However, if this truly is the Gate of No Boundary, then what it said back then might very well be true," the Guman Snake said.

Anthony seized the opportunity to ask, "What else did it tell you?"

The Guman Snake scanned him and said, "Let me see if this is truly the Gate of No Boundary first."

Anthony quickly opened the barrier, let it take a look, and then immediately closed it: "Alright, you've seen it. What did the Ancient Time-Space Dragon tell you?"

"It said it saw the Void millions of years into the future. The Void was in chaos, and only one door could lead to a new order. That door was called the Gate of No Boundary. It wanted to find that door. If I ever saw its bloodline, it hoped I would take care of them and tell them that the chessboard can reverse the Gate of No Boundary."

At this point, the Guman Snake chuckled: "It thought I was the World God Tree, which is why it entrusted me with these things. Unfortunately, I am not. However, I did take care of its bloodline—I killed all the dragon descendants."

The Guman Snake was smug, not noticing that everyone on Ang's side had changed their posture. Although they didn't move, their bodies had all involuntarily straightened up a bit.

In Ang's soul network, everyone's thoughts exchanged rapidly: "Impossible. It encountered the Dragon God from four million years ago. Ang encountered the Dragon God from eight million years ago. The Dragon God back then already knew it was a parasitic Guman Snake. Ang told the Dragon God it was a Guman Snake, right?"

Ang nodded.

"So the Dragon God must have told it on purpose. Why? Did it not foresee that this would kill all the dragon descendants?" Negris asked.

Ursman suddenly said, "It foresaw it. I have never understood why those dragon-men were restricted to the vicinity of the Ancestral Graveyard, because for the Dragon God, this is an easily solved problem. Would you dragons shed scales because you couldn't get sunlight? Why would dragon-men? This way, they could be restricted to the vicinity of the Ancestral Graveyard and not be killed by the Guman Snake."

Negris suddenly realized. In fact, it had vaguely felt something strange in its heart, because the defect of shedding scales due to lack of sunlight was very easy for the Dragon God to solve. Even without changing the bloodline, it could just teach them skills like spatial windows—opening a small window to shine light on themselves, is that really so hard?

The Dragon God didn't do that, clearly intending to restrict the dragon descendants to the vicinity of the Ancestral Graveyard.

"So the Dragon God told the Guman Snake these words on purpose. Why? To have it pass the message to us?" Negris asked.

A feeling of absurdity welled up in everyone's hearts. The Dragon God from eight million years ago had a contact with the current Ang in the time-space realm, and then four million years later, it told the Guman Snake some information, just to use its mouth to tell the current Ang that it might have entered the Gate of No Boundary, and that the time-space chessboard can reverse the Gate of No Boundary?

But if it really is as everyone guessed, the problem becomes complicated. Why didn't it tell Ang this information through bloodline resonance? ===== CHAPTER 1402 =====
