Chapter 1467: Falling into Another Cage

~7 min read 1,347 words

Although both are Dark Stars, the Dark Star that came through Gomezburg's Gate of No Boundary is not on the same level as the Dark Star the Ancient Python knows.

Because of the limitations of the Gate of No Boundary, the Dark Stars from Gomezburg were all weaker individuals with distinct abilities, but their strength was perhaps only at the level of a Star Lord.

However, this Dark Star of the Ancient Python is actually a relatively small God Star that has been sleeping here for who knows how many years. It's unknown how much strength it still retains, but looking at its size alone, the twelve Dark Stars from Gomezburg combined wouldn't compare to this one.

But even if they don't compare, with the strength of a Dark Star, it can still hold its own against a Star Lord, especially when it possesses special skills. If one is not careful, the Monarch would be injured.

The hand blade, flickering between light and dark, was like a saw, pushing across the Monarch's hand bone, carving out a small pit.

This was the first time the Monarch's Star Body had been injured without the loss of Star Power, which gave him a huge fright, and he immediately pressed forward.

The Monarch's advance instead of retreat immediately broke the Dark Star's follow-up move, because the Dark Star's hand blade immediately dragged backward after pushing forward, just like sawing wood. However, since the "wood" moved along with his direction, his saw got stuck.

To hell with a duel; who's going to duel you? The Monarch hugged the Dark Star's body and slammed it to the ground.

The Dark Star's hand blade immediately dragged backward to its front, but the moment its hand moved, it was tightly pinched by a large hand. It was the Little Zombie.

Originally, the Little Zombie, with its thick skin and flesh, was more suitable for the hugging and slamming, but no one knew what had been transported over. The Little Zombie's movements weren't as fast as the Monarch's, so the Monarch took the lead.

The Little Zombie pinched the Dark Star's hand with one hand, controlling the other party's hand blade. However, the Dark Star still had hands, and the other hand stabbed straight at the Little Zombie's face.

The Little Zombie reached out and slapped, breaking the Dark Star's hand blade stab, and then pinched its hand.

With its body hugged and both hands grabbed, an ordinary creature should have no ability to attack. But the Dark Star is not an ordinary creature; it is an energy form. Two hand blades were seen stabbing out from the position of its shoulders.

Both the Monarch and the Little Zombie have physical bodies and cannot suddenly grow two hands, but they have Star Attraction.

Star Attraction rose from the Monarch's body, pressing down on the hand blades on the Dark Star's shoulders.

Immediately, another two hand blades stabbed out from under the Dark Star's ribs, and were then pressed down by the Little Zombie's Star Attraction.

The Dark Star's hand blades cannot be divided infinitely; this was already its limit. Under normal circumstances, it only needs to retract the hand blades and stab them out from elsewhere to achieve an endless effect.

But now the Dark Star discovered that once the hand blades condensed, they couldn't be retracted. Ang's gaze was locked onto it, making it unable to even turn ethereal.

The twelve Dark Stars let it take the lead just because its ability to shift between reality and illusion is particularly strong, allowing it to merge into the Void at any time. Unless it's the Divine Light lock of a God Star, it's very difficult to capture its tracks.

Unexpectedly, there really is a God Star here. Damn Gomezburg for lying to it that there wasn't one. If there wasn't, then what is this guy with glowing eyes in front of it?!

It couldn't hit, and it couldn't run. Both sides were a bit deadlocked. Just then, the Little Sapling suddenly crawled up, waving its true leaves, and emitted information: *Yi-ah-ya—Yi-ah-ya—*

"Eh? Is this new information?" Negris asked in surprise.

The Little Sapling's language ability is very poor, and only Ang can understand what it says. It's probably what they call "like master, like pet"—just as lazy as Ang.

Apart from that "Grow hard" line, everything else it emits is *ya-ya-ya*, with very small differences. This current sentence is a rare new sentence structure where the difference can be heard clearly.

Everyone immediately looked at the Dark Star. Being able to stimulate the Little Sapling to emit new information, this guy must have something special.

Following the Little Sapling's *Yi-ah-ya*, strips of roots slowly emerged from the Dark Star's body. These roots twisted and turned, just like nematodes, drilling out from the Dark Star's body.

Both the Little Zombie and the Monarch were startled. Without being driven, they crawled up quickly and retreated several body lengths, staying far away from those roots.

The Dark Star, having regained its freedom, froze in place, not daring to move. These roots were only emerging from its body and hadn't completely detached. It was terrified of startling these roots, causing them to drill back in.

And its heart was in its throat, if it had such a thing.

It had originally thought that after being entangled by the consciousness of the World Tree of Ten Thousand Worlds, it would never be able to be freed. Unexpectedly, something else could make those roots emerge. If they detached from its consciousness, wouldn't it be able to regain its freedom?

This possibility made the Dark Star incredibly excited, yet it had to suppress the excitement and remain quiet, lest the roots drill back in.

Following the Little Sapling's *Yi-ah-ya*, those roots slowly twisted into a bundle on the Dark Star's body, growing into a tree-man. As it grew, it stepped forward.

With every step it took, it became more aged. The originally tender green bark dried up, thickened, and cracked rapidly, turning into old tree bark. The branches also became thicker and harder. By the time it walked in front of the Little Sapling, it had twisted from roots into a tender tree-man, turning into an aged tree-man like an old stump on a century-old bonsai.

The aged tree-man extended its finger toward the Little Sapling, and a flower bud grew rapidly on the tip of its finger, then bloomed into a fresh flower.

Everyone was dumbfounded by this scene. Anthony asked in a low voice: "What's happening?"

Negris barely understood a bit and explained: "Exchanging pollen. This guy's body was planted with roots by another World Tree of Ten Thousand Worlds. The Little Sapling discovered them and stimulated them to emerge."

"But... why bloom?" Anthony asked, puzzled. If they were going to emerge, why bloom a flower? Just to exchange pollen?

Negris said: "Probably because Ang sealed the entire space. After it came out, it found the parent plant missing, but saw the Little Sapling, so it triggered some mechanism, growing rapidly to produce a flower bud, using the method of exchanging pollen to pass its life factors to the new World Tree of Ten Thousand Worlds."

Anthony was dumbfounded: "That works too? Doesn't that mean the Little Sapling inherited its life factors? Can it obtain its abilities?"

"Sh-should be able to," Negris said, not daring to be certain.

Just as it finished speaking, it saw the Little Sapling extend its roots toward the Dark Star.

The Dark Star jumped up quickly, wanting to run, but someone was faster than it. The Monarch lunged and hugged it, slamming it to the ground again.

It struggled desperately, but was firmly locked by Ang's gaze. It stabbed out a hand blade, only to be firmly pressed down by the Little Zombie, and could only watch helplessly as the Little Sapling's roots extended over and firmly pierced into its body.

The Dark Star, which had just rejoiced at its escape, fell into another cage in the blink of an eye. ===== CHAPTER 1468 =====
