Chapter 1592
The next star was a full eight times the size of the Little Fireman star. Fortunately, it had no massive life forms on it, only a few sparse star-borns, and no World-Boundary Tree on its surface.
This was a perfect target. Dalisu, seemingly afraid that Anthony and the others would find another excuse to let this star go, didn't hesitate to act the moment he saw it clearly.
This star, whose name was still unknown, never imagined that not hatching life would become the fuse for its death. It had been floating there, emptying its mind and humming a tune, when suddenly a black shadow slashed toward it.
Dalisu now had two overlapping pieces. When he anchored one, he could swing the other with force, turning it into a high-speed black crescent blade that slashed into the star's body, carving a massive trench a quarter of the way deep, as if trying to split it in two like a watermelon.
Before the star could react, the blade had already bitten in.
Once the star reacted, it condensed its will and tightened its body, trying to squeeze the black blade, with star-flame coiling around it.
But it was too slow; the star-flame hadn't even tightened before the black blade retracted. The other piece, anchored in place, instantly pulled the blade back.
Then, the other piece transformed into a black blade and slashed down again.
And so, left and right, the two pieces acted like two cleavers in Dalisu's hands, hacking away at the "watermelon."
After taking a dozen slashes, the star finally found an opening. A massive pillar of star-flame erupted from its surface, shooting straight at Dalisu.
Dalisu swung a piece to the side, anchored it, and pulled, shifting his entire form to a position one-third of the way around the star, repeating his previous actions.
The star had never experienced such an assault. It seemed to panic, its star-flame erupting chaotically in pillars that rose and fell, like a sea urchin growing spikes.
Dalisu moved constantly. The two pieces granted him agile mobility, profoundly changing his combat style. Before, his blade was like a plow, going wherever it was pushed, and if he hit an obstacle, he had to retreat.
But now, his two pieces were like two sabers. One saber could anchor his position the moment it slashed, pulling the other piece over, or retracting the slashing piece while the other hacked away.
Or both could swing simultaneously—one slashing while the other repositioned. By the time the slashing piece hit its target and was pulled back, he had already shifted to a new location, making it impossible for the enemy to predict his landing spot.
Anthony and Wuersiman watched in awe. This was completely different from the combat style they had seen when Dalisu fought the star-flame manifestation earlier. With just one extra piece, his combat power had skyrocketed, and his versatility had multiplied.
The star was covered in wounds, with deep trenches running across its main body.
Every large-mass object has a stable gravitational structure, and stars are no exception. When this structure is destroyed, the star can no longer bind its own body, leading to dispersion or explosion.
Dalisu's attacks were already cutting into its gravitational structure; if this continued, it might be hacked to pieces by Dalisu directly.
The star's soul throbbed, locking onto Dalisu's position, and it roared in fury: "Who are you?"
Dalisu felt as if he had been struck by lightning, his entire form blown away.
The soul-roar wasn't an ordinary roar; it was the fury of a star, a powerful impact on consciousness.
Dalisu was unharmed. He steadied himself, flew back, and slashed his blade down again.
Originally, he had intended to brace himself for the impact, but when the star's soul-impact hit him, Dalisu felt a massive phantom image rise in his consciousness, linking his mind to that powerful node in the distance.
The soul-roar, which should have left him dizzy, hit his consciousness like a stream hitting solid rock and simply split apart.
*Good heavens, I have someone backing me now, * Dalisu thought. Relieved, he stopped worrying about the star's soul-impact and continued to slash wildly.
With two large blades hacking away like this, even a "giant watermelon" would eventually be hacked to pieces.
Seeing this, Anthony didn't want to just watch. If this continued, Dalisu might actually hack it to pieces alone, and Anthony wouldn't get a chance to practice.
He flashed to the other side, mimicking Dalisu, and went to work with both pieces.
He preferred forming them into sharp spears rather than blades. Two spears kept piercing into the star's body, blasting out bottomless holes with every strike.
However, spears had one drawback: they tended to get stuck deep inside the star's body. If he got clamped, he would have to endure the drain of the star-flame.
So, Anthony quickly changed tactics, specifically circling the other side of the star. While it was busy dealing with Dalisu, he would sneak in a jab, aiming to pierce through the core and out the other side.
This caused far more damage than Dalisu's dozen slashes. The core was the vital node maintaining the gravitational structure; one jab from Anthony did more damage than Dalisu could do in half a day.
The star dared not ignore Anthony anymore, shifting most of its attention to him. Anthony didn't care; he moved randomly, so he didn't even need to attack—just by constantly circling, he could pin down most of the star's attention.
The star emitted a series of angry "booms." This was its power boiling over, a massive tremor from its main body that could propagate even in the airless void.
One after another, star-flame manifestations surged from the star's surface, pouncing toward Dalisu and Anthony respectively.
Dalisu turned to attack these manifestations, cutting them in half with a single stroke.
However, the dispersed star-flame quickly re-condensed in the void, and with the star constantly releasing more, their numbers grew.
Anthony, however, ignored these manifestations. Whenever they pounced, he would quickly shift away, soon arriving at another area.
If the manifestations chased him, Anthony would shift back and sneak in another spear jab at the star.
Repeating this, there was no way to stop Anthony from attacking the main body unless the manifestations surrounded the entire star.
By the time Wuersiman joined the fray, the star could no longer hold on. Its surface suddenly brightened, and divine light shot out in all directions.
Ordinary people wouldn't understand this divine light, but to Ang, it was a panicked message: *Help! Someone is hitting me! *
An energy-form "World-Extinguishing Array" structure took shape in front of Wuersiman, slowly accumulating energy.
Negris's eyes nearly popped out of his head. He knew all too well the difficulty of conjuring a World-Extinguishing Array out of thin air.
This wasn't a stable material structure; a physical array would stay put, but this energy-based one required continuous energy input to maintain its stability.
With hundreds of thousands of components and thousands of energy circuits, all needing to be outlined simultaneously, even ten True Law Gods wouldn't dare play like this. Was Wuersiman actually going to do it himself?
