Chapter 1635

~6 min read 1,138 words

Under Nai Ge Li Si's gaze, Ursman rolled out an energy-state apocalyptic formation several meters in size; seeing this, Nai Ge Li Si let out a breath.

Thank goodness, thank goodness—though it was a bit complex, this small size was still acceptable; if he had truly sketched out the original version's giant apocalyptic formation, Nai Ge Li Si estimated his eyes would pop out.

After finishing the formation, Ursman let himself float in the void, turned into a shadow, and then loaded it into the formation's muzzle.

Nai Ge Li Si jumped in shock and hurriedly asked: "What are you doing? Are you going to blast yourself?"

Ursman didn't answer it, but quietly adjusted the formation's direction, pointing toward the godstar's exact center.

The apocalyptic formation fired, and the shadow-formed Ursman instantly blasted into the godstar's center, piercing through.

The godstar let out a piercing shriek, then with a 'Boom!' it trembled—something inside the godstar exploded.

Nai Ge Li Si drew a deep breath, shocked, and asked: "You hit his star soul?"

No one responded; after shouting several times in the soul network, Ursman showed no reaction—finally Ange reached out, grabbed Ursman's consciousness and pulled it back, though his shards had already shattered.

Pulling a shard from his body, he pressed Ursman's consciousness into it; the consciousness, deeply struck, Ursman then slowly woke up.

Nai Ge Li Si was both anxious and angry, shouting loudly: "Are you crazy? Using yourself as an apocalyptic storm?"

Ursman was still a bit dazed, asking: "How's it? How's it? Did we hit it?"

Nai Ge Li Si said unhappily: "Probably hit it, but even if we did, what good is it? You almost died."

Ursman said dismissively: "That's because I was too weak—if my shards were stronger, killing him would be easy. No next time—next time I'll use another shard, not go myself."

Nai Ge Li Si said: "You should have done that just now; thank goodness Ange pulled you back, you madman—still talking about sages? Would sages act as crazy as you?"

While Nai Ge Li Si complained here, the godstar that was hit began to slowly boil.

Though it had previously been chopped into thousands of grooves and spat out hundreds of fire pillars, the godstar's stellar flame had remained stable—but now, countless bubbles gurgled up from its surface.

Growing larger and more numerous, countless stellar flames dispersed as the bubbles burst, just like turning up the heat when cooking and reducing the sauce.

A whole godstar thus went madly scattering its material before everyone's eyes, like a sand pile on the beach being washed by seawater.

One shot—using the apocalyptic formation as a bow, the ghost shard as an arrow—one shot blasted the godstar's star soul away.

Having lost its star soul, the godstar could no longer maintain its form, wildly releasing its power into the void; as the main body dispersed and mass was lost, unable to sustain its gravitational structure, the godstar would explode.

But that requires dispersion over time—so for now, it won't explode yet.

Darilis stared wide-eyed, looking at the disintegrating godstar, then at Nai Ge Li Si and Ursman in the distance—somewhat shocked, somewhat bewildered—Is that it?

Darilis killing a godstar isn't nearly this easy now; he couldn't even kill a proper godstar—last time he compensated Ange with that clump of star soul, he found a tiny, depleted godstar, relied on the fact it couldn't run or fight him, and ground it to death.

This time he also relied on there being so many guides here, and wanderers too, before daring to suggest hunting a godstar—didn't expect it to actually succeed, and so quickly—could it be an illusion?

The godstar's dispersion isn't an illusion; Darilis let out a breath, whatever it is, anyway the godstar is already dispersing—Darilis shouted: "Everyone up, tear it apart, don't let the increment go to waste."

Only then did everyone react—Nai Ge Li Si was the first to shout: "Star soul? Star soul? Grab the star soul and give it to Ange."

Ange shook his head, flipped open a shard, on which appeared a familiar shadow—wasn't that exactly the godstar currently dispersing before our eyes?

When Ursman hit the other's star soul earlier, he had already imprinted the star soul; now what's dispersing is merely the godstar's main body.

The star soul is already in hand; the rest is just gathering the increment—everyone's enthusiasm is high, all crowding forward.

With each passing shadow, the unextinguished stellar flames turned into increment mist, one after another absorbed by the shadows—again and again, the godstar shrank circle by circle.

The godstar's cry for help alarmed nearby godstars, but the godstars couldn't get here that fast—yet any godstar that received the signal now turned into a blue point of light, blueshift, obviously rushing here at high speed.

Faster than the godstars arriving were the star descendants—one by one, star descendants blinked out of the void, saw a shadow circling the godstar devouring it, paused for a moment, then fled at top speed, not lingering a second.

Not long after, those originally showing blueshift suddenly brightened once, then turned red.

"Redshift means moving away—they ran?" Nai Ge Li Si asked, bewildered.

"Are we that scary?" Ursman also asked, bewildered.

Only Darilis said matter-of-factly: "They ran when they saw me too—I alone could scare them off, let alone with so many of us; they're not afraid of us, they're afraid of my lord—if they knew my lord was also here, they'd run even faster."

The entire hollow godstar was utterly shocked, for the star descendants brought news: several ghost guides had come here; the godstars panicked and fled for their lives, their redshift light scattering across the entire hollow.

Before Nai Ge Li Si et al. finished looting this godstar, the whole hollow dimmed—all starlight vanished, those colorful lines disappeared too, and the hollow returned to pitch-black silence.

"Did they all run?" Nai Ge Li Si asked, shocked—feeling that ghost wanderers in the void are this terrifying, practically janitors.

No one disturbed them; everyone quietly devoured the godstar clean, then some, still wanting more, gazed at the silent hollow.

The harvest was too great—everyone felt their two shards' strength had multiplied several times; from consciousness to form, they were bulging, spirits high—there was such a strong urge to control the increment within, they'd love to grab a big guy on the street and beat him up.

Increased strength also brought some unexpected benefits—even Nai Ge Li Si learned to hover in shadow.

Growing strength is addictive—otherwise there wouldn't be so many fitness fanatics; now even the least fond of fighting, Emperor Lu Ni and Hes Luo, all wish they could find another godstar to slaughter.

Too bad all the godstars have run off or gone into hiding—everyone glanced at each other: "Split up and search!"
