Chapter 1657: Foreign Wraith Ran Away
Anthony had never sensed such a terrifying aura before; just one glance left his mind blank, his body rigid, unable to speak or move, until the gaze shifted away.
After regaining the ability to move, everyone instinctively gasped deeply, though breathing was no longer necessary for them, yet the intense fear still activated this innate instinct.
Only Daliso remained immersed in his original state; the aura on his body had been replaced by an even more terrifying one, as a phantom slowly condensed behind him.
It was a massive black void, within which countless specks of light swirled like starlight, forming a vortex.
From afar, this black hole with a vortex resembled a pupil, gazing into the distance.
After an unknown amount of time, Daliso slowly raised his hand, pointing toward Kelarania.
Anthony's heart skipped a beat; he immediately connected to the soul network and shouted to Silver Coin: "Run, run, the foreign wraith is coming."
Silver Coin's voice echoed in the soul network: "I've already run, my consciousness has retreated, the body left there is hiding, I'll check after the attack."
Daliso stood there with his hand raised for a while, then suddenly his aura shifted dramatically; the terrifying aura on his body rapidly retracted and faded, vanishing completely.
Anthony and the others clearly sensed an aura swiftly fleeing from them, retreating toward Rui Pan.
Nai Ge Li Si asked in shock: "Is it over?"
That's it? No movement at all? Could it be because we're too far from Kelarania? So we can't hear anything?
Silver Coin also projected over immediately; his white crystal still remained on Kelarania's body, and upon projection, his form re-emerged from the white crystal, looking left and right.
Nothing changed around them; the area was still bustling with many Starborn active, no different from when he left.
And beneath the divine star, Kelarania's consciousness was clearly visible.
If truly attacked by the foreign wraith, even if Kelarania was unharmed, these affected Starborn would explode, unable to withstand the foreign wraith's assault.
Silver Coin said, bewildered, in the soul network: "Nothing happened here; Kelarania is still alive, showing no signs of attack."
Everyone was bewildered, able only to look toward Daliso.
Daliso stood dazed for a long while before coming to his senses, somewhat bewildered as he told everyone: "He————he didn't attack, he said it was too big, told me to find a smaller one, and asked if I still remembered the guidance rules."
Anthony and Nai Ge Li Si exchanged glances.
The foreign wraith didn't attack and even told Daliso to find a smaller target—what kind of development is this?
Can the foreign wraith not move Kelarania? And then it ran away.
"This————this————this doesn't seem right? The foreign wraith ran away." Nai Ge Li Si said, bewildered.
"It seems————should————possibly————probably ran away." Ursman also looked somewhat bewildered.
Who is the foreign wraith? An existence that makes the void dim just by being present, causing all god stars incubating star souls to dare not reveal their light.
Either they hide in the material band, a sheltered place, or they put on a shell, covering themselves.
Now this terrifying existence actually ran away? Did Daliso summon a fake one?
Before, if anyone said fake foreign wraith, everyone would surely not believe it, but now with Ange as an example, it means fake foreign wraiths exist; what if the summoned one is also like Ange—a fake?
Anthony said: "Impossible, the foreign wraith even killed the Branch Lord; the main star of Luomu Luo Er was a Branch Lord, also died at the foreign wraith's hands—how could it fail to move Kelarania?"
Ursman said: "Could it be because of Luomu Luo Er's main star, so he didn't kill Kelarania, since when he killed the Luolin Luo Er main star, he got injured?"
"Makes sense, because he was injured at Luomu Luo Er, so he knows what level of god star would injure him; without absolute certainty, he doesn't want to kill such a level."
Anthony finished speaking, then turned to Daliso and asked: "What does he mean by the guidance rules?"
Daliso deeply glanced at Anthony, then suddenly asked: "My lord, are you actually not a wraith patrolman?"
Anthony had long anticipated this; Daliso isn't a fool, he'd eventually notice something off about them.
But don't worry, Anthony had already added another layer of disguise to everyone's facade.
Prepared, he calmly said: "You saw through it? Correct, my lord is actually a wraith arbitrator, responsible for supervising and judging all extinction work; you handle guiding patrolmen, my lord supervises you."
Daliso was shocked; above the wraith patrolmen there's actually an arbitrator supervising them—how come I've never heard of this?
Anthony chuckled: "If you'd heard of it, what would be the point of supervision?"
Daliso originally thought he'd seen through their origins, never expecting the other to reveal this identity, leaving him suspicious again—could there really be an arbitrator higher than patrolmen?
Seeing the other's half-believing, half-doubting expression, Anthony smiled faintly, knowing the other couldn't possibly see through these lies, for Daliso is merely a guide reborn from humanity.
His understanding of the wraith system might not even match Ange's; trying to discern truth from falsehood in these words is too difficult.
Moreover, Anthony isn't afraid of him seeing through the identity; even if he did, what could he do?
Betray Ange? Impossible, he and Ange have already established a spiritual connection.
The reason I've been deceiving him all along is to extract more information from him, and also because I fear that once he knows the truth, during his guiding patrolman duties, he'll leak our identities.
"The guidance rules refer to, when guiding patrolmen, the selection of targets: no star souls, too small in volume, with special marks, or in special environments—all prohibited from attack; but I recall there was no restriction on god star mass being too large, only a restriction on small mass, but not on large mass." Daliso said, troubled.
Anthony's heart stirred, he asked: "How long have you been a wraith guide?"
Daliso thought: "One hundred thousand years."
Anthony then connected to Luomu Luo Er and asked: "When was your main star destroyed?"
Luomu Luo Er said: "Around seventy thousand years ago."
Anthony nodded: "So it's very likely he was injured when destroying Luomu Luo Er's main star, then added the mass restriction in the new rules."
Everyone agreed with Anthony's inference, about to say something, when in the soul network, the sixth divine star urgently shouted: "My lord, pause a moment, this will saw me open."
