Chapter 477: Must get my hands on it
At the end of the Eternal Road, a white light flashed from the teleportation array. Shamala appeared within it. She didn't come out immediately, instead poking her head out to peer around in all directions.
"Huh, Shamala? Why are you here?" Miss Lisha had assumed someone was delivering supplies, but upon looking over, it was actually Shamala.
This Fallen Saintess drifted outside of Ang's core group. If you called her obedient, you never saw her; if you called her disobedient, she would run over to help whenever something major happened.
Miss Lisha wasn't close to her and couldn't figure out why she had come here.
"Um, where is my lord?" Shamala asked.
In this team, calling out "my lord" alone referred to Ang. If it were anyone else, they would add their name, such as Lord Ang, Lord Anthony, Lord Du Luo Ken, or Lady Miss Lisha.
"You're looking for my lord? Is something the matter?" Miss Lisha asked in return.
Shamala fidgeted and stammered for a moment before saying, "I felt that if I came here, something good would happen."
"Heh, this place is desolate and remote, not even a ghost in sight. What good could possibly happen?" Miss Lisha had just finished speaking when a ghost drifted by, swaying lazily. It infuriated Miss Lisha; she had just said there wasn't a ghost in sight, and it had come out to undermine her immediately.
"Awoo!" Miss Lisha roared, carrying the power of Holy Light suppression, scaring the ghost into clutching its head and fleeing in a panic.
Miss Lisha looked smug.
"Are you bored or what, bullying a little ghost? Come back and see, is my time up yet?" The Witch walked over, sporting a pale face.
Her face was covered by a silk cloth, revealing only a pair of eyes. She looked like a ghost, giving Shamala a fright.
"Huh? Seraphim Luna?" The Witch's eyes swept over Shamala, immediately catching a familiar aura.
Seraphim Luna emerged from Shamala's body and bowed respectfully. "Long time no see, Lady Witch."
The Witch was stunned. She looked hesitantly at Miss Lisha and asked, "Can I hit her?"
"Hit what? She's one of us," Miss Lisha said.
The Witch distressfully tugged at her hair. "What on earth happened outside while I was gone? The Supreme Holy Spirit, how did the Supreme Holy Spirit become one of us too?"
Miss Lisha said, "Don't pull, if you pull it out, it won't grow back without the Little Sapling here."
The Witch stiffened all over, her hands gently letting go.
"Why think about these things? Twenty minutes, time is up. Come, I'll wash it off for you and do some pore-shrinking treatment." Miss Lisha hooked her palm, beckoning.
The Witch trotted over.
Shamala and Seraphim Luna looked at each other. After thinking for a moment, they re-armored together and followed.
A luxurious tent had already been set up beside the farm. Lifting the tent flap and walking inside, one first felt an air curtain; passing through it, they entered the airless tent.
Shamala felt somewhat uncomfortable and held her breath, asking with her intent, "Why is there no air?"
The Witch replied, "Oh, we don't need to breathe air, so we don't have any. By the way, I recently read an article. It turns out there is a substance in the air that makes skin more active. Contact with it makes the skin very active, but if it's too active, it ages easily. So air makes skin age; it's better without it. Can you adapt? If not, just take down the air curtain."
Shamala blinked in confusion, retreated outside, took a deep breath, and then came back in. "It's fine, no problem, I can adapt."
Miss Lisha pressed the Witch into a chair and asked suspiciously, "What kind of messy knowledge is this? Where did you see it?"
The Witch pointed to the side. "It's those miscellaneous magazines you brought. 'Meishen City Rejuvenation Magazine', issue 192, discussing the relationship between air and beauty. Author: Star Academy Air-System Arcane Mage X-X-X. Haven't you read it?"
"There's an article like that? I haven't seen it. Where would I have the time? I'm busy to death all day. But an author from Star Academy, the credibility is quite high. No wonder you went to such great lengths to pull up the air curtain." Miss Lisha muttered, skillfully removing the mask, washing, applying lotion, and massaging it in for better absorption.
Shamala casually picked up the magazine the Witch had just pointed to. Upon opening it, she saw a magical projection that made her heart race: a full-figured, lifelike female magical projection, wearing only two small pieces of cloth, covering three sensitive points respectively.
Shamala blushed and closed it, looking left and right. Finding no one was paying attention to her, she quietly lifted it to look again—Spring Lingerie, Air Series.
It was actually quite pretty. Shamala had some herself, but wearing them was one thing, seeing others wear them was another.
Just as she was reading with great interest and preparing to pick one out, the tent flap was lifted. Ang ran in. His eyes lit up when he saw Shamala. He ran over, grabbed her, and shoved her forward, shoving her into a spatial rift.
He ran out again without even a greeting. By the time Miss Lisha chased after him, Ang had already returned to the side of the black crystal skeleton, pressed his hand onto it, and stiffened all over.
In a flash, nothing had changed, except Shamala had been shoved away.
Miss Lisha muttered suspiciously, "How did my lord know Shamala was here? Could it really be that she guessed right, that something good would happen?"
Shamala, who had been shoved over, stood up with a blank face, finding herself surrounded by people, some she knew and some she didn't. Everyone's gaze fell on her hands, which were holding an open magazine, the page open exactly to the lingerie advertisement.
Everyone's suspicious gazes darted between the magazine and Shamala's face. Shamala's face turned red to the back of her neck, and she said shyly, "This... this... this isn't mine..."
Lu Se said loudly, "I know, I've seen it at Grandma Miss Lisha's place. It's Grandma Miss Lisha's."
Shamala let out a long breath, feeling for the first time that Lu Se looked so pleasing to the eye. Thank goodness for Lu Se, otherwise, she would have to find a crack in the ground to crawl into and never come out again.
With a forceful squeeze, black holy flames ignited on her hand, reducing the magazine to ashes.
"Hey... I still..." Lu Se sighed regretfully. Why burn it? He hadn't even looked at it yet.
Shamala didn't care whether he had looked or not; she just wanted to skip this topic immediately. "My lord, why did you bring me here?"
Ang scratched his head and pointed at Anthony.
"Shamala, where did my lord run into you? How did you come back so quickly?" Anthony asked with a smile.
"At the end of the Eternal Road, at Lady Miss Lisha's place," Shamala replied.
"Then why did you go to Miss Lisha's place, safe and sound?" Anthony asked.
Shamala said embarrassedly, "I felt that something good would happen."
"This should be that voice in your heart telling you, right? Have you ever thought about what kind of existence that voice in your heart is?" Anthony asked.
Shamala blinked, looking blank.
Anthony then turned to everyone. "Shamala didn't realize it, and Ge Lei didn't realize it either. They both treated this voice as another self, only Shamala's is a bit more peaceful, and Ge Lei's is a bit more violent. But without a doubt, they are both—Divine Spirits."
Nai Ge Li Si frowned with a solemn expression and asked, "What is a Divine Spirit?"
Everyone was still waiting for him to explain, but now they were all sent sprawling by his question.
"I don't know. A god is a god, a spirit is a spirit. Isn't this term 'Divine Spirit' just combining two words together?" Nai Ge Li Si asked.
Anthony shook his head. "You can think of it as a god-level consciousness without a godhead. During ancient totem worship, totems couldn't carry a godhead, so they only gave birth to a simple consciousness. This is the origin of Divine Spirits. In fact, Shamala is already a demigod. As long as you give her a godhead, she can become a god at any time."
Ang nodded, took out the Brass Book, and took out a blank godhead to hand to Shamala.
Shamala took it, feeling bewildered.
Ang walked over to Ge Lei, took out another blank godhead, and looked at Anthony.
Anthony quietly made a gesture and then said loudly, "No need. She's not one of our people. A godhead is such a precious thing; it would be a waste to bestow it upon her."
Ge Lei, who had fainted on the ground, suddenly flipped over and knelt, opening her blood-red eyes and saying with an indifferent expression, "I am willing to serve you as my master, please bestow a godhead upon me." As she finished, a mark appeared directly on her forehead.
It turned out she had been awake the whole time, but the one awake wasn't Ge Lei, but the other consciousness.
Anthony also knew she was awake, and even that he had deliberately let her be awake. Seeing her be so sensible, Anthony nodded to Ang. "Although we could erase this consciousness and let Ge Lei return to normal, that would be too much of a waste. My lord, accept her."
Anthony's words made this "Ge Lei" tremble. She lowered her head in a panic. She probably guessed that this would be the consequence, which is why she was so sensible. Both times she erupted, she was suppressed by Ang; she had no ability to resist at all.
Ang nodded, put away the mark, and shoved the godhead to "her."
"Ge Lei" had an indifferent expression, but her trembling hands betrayed her true inner feelings. She held the godhead and slowly pressed it into her chest.
The godhead merged into Ge Lei's body, and then the blood-red color in her eyes slowly faded. Finally, her head tilted, and she fainted again.
Anthony stepped forward, cast Holy Light, and pressed it onto her temple. Ge Lei woke up in a daze. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw the two heads on her body and covered them in a panic.
"Do you still remember what happened?" Anthony asked kindly.
Ge Lei frowned and thought for a while. Remembering what happened before she fainted, she said angrily, "You scolded me."
She even remembered the content of Anthony's scolding, but strangely, this scolding that would normally make her extremely violent—the other self inside her didn't react at all?
Anthony pressed onto her temple, muttered for a while, let her go, and then asked, "Do you still remember what happened?"
Ge Lei thought for a while in a daze and said hesitantly, "You said I was too thin and told me to eat more? Thank you for your concern."
Anthony smiled kindly. "You're welcome, may the Holy Light bless you."
The rest of the people felt their teeth ache. Lu Se couldn't help but mutter, "Lord Anthony's trick is too perverted. If he were to have an affair, even if he were caught by the husband, he could still wash himself clean as being there to deliver water."
Everyone's gaze turned to Lu Se.
Lu Se asked in confusion, "Why are you looking at me?"
Du Luo Ken spread his hands. "You're the only one here who would have a wife. You'd better be careful."
Lu Se opened his mouth, stunned, unable to refute.
Nai Ge Li Si changed the subject. "Scatter, scatter. Du Luo Ken, come and take it apart. Black Smoke Ring said there are good things in this flying car. Take it apart and see what good things they are."
"Black Smoke Ring?" Du Luo Ken hadn't followed them, so he didn't know about the Terror Lord's name change.
"It's Volcanic Ash, the Terror Lord."
"Oh, oh, oh." Du Luo Ken made a few sounds, then dismantled the bottom of the flying car, grabbing a crystal the size of a watermelon. "A flame crystal core, just this? A good thing?"
"Does it count as a good thing?" Nai Ge Li Si asked.
"I suppose so. Flame constructs can use it. A piece this big can build a six-meter-tall construct. But I prefer using soul fire as a core," Du Luo Ken said.
"Does it have any other uses?" Nai Ge Li Si asked, frowning. Why would they need so many constructs? Could they be stronger than Pa Te Xi? Could they be stronger than the God-Guarding Emperor?
Du Luo Ken thought for a moment and said tentatively, "Cooking food?"
After discussing for a long time, they couldn't think of any good uses, so they had to shove it back into the flying car. It seemed that the good things in the eyes of this Terror Lord couldn't catch the eyes of everyone here.
Everyone went back to their own business, leaving only Shamala standing there holding a blank godhead, at a loss. "I... I... where do I sleep at night?"
There was no housekeeper-type figure like Miss Lisha here, so naturally, no one cared about her eating, clothing, or living. But she was used to it. She casually found a rock crevice and discovered a fifty-meter-long golden "big lizard" already coiled inside. Sensing her walking over, it was staring at her with its eyes.
"Do you snore?" Shamala asked.
Du Luo Ke was stunned, blinking his eyes, feeling a bit confused. Was this asking him?
Du Luo Ke shook his head.
"Then move over, you've taken up the cleanest place here," Shamala said, pushing it as she spoke.
Du Luo Ke only felt a great force surge over, pushing him to move aside involuntarily, revealing a piece of clean rock slab.
Ku Ba Da, are all the guys under my lord's command such perverts? Even if I grew wings, it seems I wouldn't have any advantage.
Shamala rummaged through her spatial bag for some bedding and sleeping bags, spread them out, sat cross-legged on them, and looked blankly at the blank godhead in her hand.
Seraphim Luna popped a head out from her back, looked at the godhead, and said, "This is a blank godhead, there is no consciousness inside, which is the spirit Anthony talked about. This kind of thing is very precious. It can allow a consciousness to directly become a god and possess the ability to receive faith. He just gave it to us like this?"
"Yeah, he just gave it to me like this?" Shamala also found it hard to believe.
"You lucky dog, becoming a god in one step, without even needing to light the faith fire, nor needing to undergo the test of divine fire." Seraphim Luna couldn't help but feel jealous.
"This must be the good thing that was going to happen. Because I am firm and pious, that's why good things happen. Anyway, I am already Lord Ang's Saintess. Even if I become a god, I am still my lord's Saintess," Shamala said piously, slowly pressing the godhead into her body.
I don't know how much time passed, but God-level Saintess Shamala woke up from her slumber. A golden light flashed through her eyes, and a mark appeared in her pupils, flickering once before fading away.
Anthony walked over, clapping his hands and shouting, "Move, move, everyone move out. Ge Lei told me last night that in this year's Mage Assembly, it's very likely that a magical instrument or accessory that can change the situation will appear, something that can break the Silence Barrier."
"We are going to participate in the Mage Assembly to see what it is. If it really can break the Silence Barrier, we must get our hands on it." ===== CHAPTER 478 =====
