Chapter 524

~6 min read 1,090 words

The entire world slowed down, but everyone's thoughts remained unchanged, still communicating at normal speed; Nagelis directly shouted with his soul: "Ku Ba Da, Dragon God's Time-Space Domain! When did this damn skeleton awaken a domain?"

A domain is a range-based force of law; for example, Esdoria's Magic-Nullifying Domain suppresses all magical elements within a certain area, rendering magic impossible to cast.

That's why Esdoria is called the nemesis of mages, the death zone of elements—any spellcaster who faces her must swing their staff like a club to fight.

But domains aren't omnipotent; they have their limits—for instance, a Magic-Nullifying Domain can't block physical attacks; a divine archer could simply shoot her dead.

Moreover, not all domains are practical; some are useless—like a "Calm Winds and Still Waters" domain, which keeps even the fiercest storms perfectly still within its range. What practical use could that possibly have besides becoming a lifeguard or sailor?

The Dragon God's Time-Space Domain, however, is unquestionably an ultra-practical domain—it's the exclusive domain of the Dragon God, capable of slowing time and space within a certain range while the user's own speed remains relatively faster.

If others' speed is reduced tenfold, the Dragon God might only be slowed four or fivefold.

Even ancient dragons couldn't master this domain, but if the Time Dragon and Space Dragon coordinated perfectly, they could occasionally activate the Time-Space Slowdown skill—something Nagelis had witnessed before.

Who would've thought that Seeing Ange had silently awakened the Dragon God's Time-Space Domain—and used it right now?

The powerful consciousness projected onto Hayden first emitted a sense of confusion—anyone suddenly thrust into a world of slow motion would be bewildered.

But he quickly realized a fist was expanding at "high speed" directly before him, about to strike Hayden's body.

Though movements were slow, thoughts were fast—the projected consciousness instantly summoned a mark before it, blocking Seeing Ange's fist.

Seeing Ange's fist slammed into the mark and kept driving through it without hesitation; in this slowed transformation, everyone could see every detail of the mark shattering.

First the patterns cracked, then the lines scattered, finally exploding into flying shards under the impact, spraying onto Hayden's body. Seeing Ange's fist didn't stop—it continued forward, striking Hayden's form, repeating the same process.

At that moment, the stagnant time snapped back to normal; Hayden's entire form was blasted outward like smoke, splattering against the wall and leaving a large, wind-and-sand-eroded scar.

The Green Gourd Sword Immortal

The powerful projected consciousness barely had time to hurl out a single message: "Let's talk this out, don't…"

Too late. Seeing Ange's punch had already sent Hayden—who'd already drained nearly all his energy—crashing into the wall, dead beyond any doubt.

Though undead are hard to harm by physical attacks, they aren't immune—a wall can be slowly seeped into if the undead is in mist form, but if slammed into at high speed, the impact embeds them directly, eroding massive portions of their form.

If it were a thick layer of earth, even slow seeping wouldn't penetrate.

To be slammed into a wall by Seeing Ange's punch—Had Hayden been unharmed, he might've survived. But with all his soul energy spent, barely revived by soul crystals, he died utterly.

Yet no one blamed Seeing Ange for his violent reaction—the consciousness had been too terrifying.

"Is this the Lord of Annihilation? Such a powerful consciousness—I feel like I'm facing a King." Feti said, alarmed.

Feti had felt no pressure lately—since arriving in this world, he'd realized how weak its people were. The Undead Empire didn't even have a single Mourner, yet still managed to drive the Sorcerer's Alliance into the sky—so the Sorcerer's Alliance couldn't be strong either.

This suspicion was confirmed by the god-making sorcerer Radiad—this twelfth council sorcerer was even weaker than the Grand Sage.

The Grand Sage was the Undead Empire's most learned sage, but fundamentally just a Soul Saint—and not skilled in combat. In past fights, witches always protected him; everyone assumed they were just close friends, until they realized there was an affair.

But Radiad didn't even reach the Grand Sage's level—so of course Feti, a Mourner Lord, paid him no mind.

He'd assumed all sorcerers in the Alliance were this weak, and that the Emperor was trapped only because his consciousness projection had weakened him.

That wasn't surprising—the Emperor's projection had been here only a thousand years, not nearly enough time for a Soul Heart to evolve into a Mourner Soul, let alone his Black Crystal Essence.

Without sufficient time to mature, a monarch at most at the Mourner Lord realm could easily be trapped by an Annihilation Sorcerer.

But this consciousness shattered all assumptions—its strength exceeded everyone's imagination; even Feti felt the same dread as facing a King.

Among those present, excluding Seeing Ange, Feti's soul was unquestionably the strongest. If he felt this way, others were even more terrified.

But Anthony was puzzled: "Still, this consciousness feels… off. I don't know if it's because it's a projection, but it seems unstable."

Nagelis snapped: "If it stabilized, what then? Good thing Seeing Ange acted fast—struck before it stabilized."

Anthony shook his head: "No, it's not that kind of instability—it's…" He hesitated, unable to find words, then said: "It just feels weird—not like its own power, more like borrowed."

Nagelis shuddered: "That's even scarier! Borrowed power? Who has power strong enough to lend it? How terrifying must the one lending it be?"

Anthony realized—he was right. It was even scarier. He involuntarily rubbed his arms, trying to wipe off the goosebumps.

Nagelis quickly changed the subject, turning to Seeing Ange: "When did you awaken the Time-Space Domain?"

Seeing Ange tilted his head, blankly.

"I mean—when did you learn this ability to slow time and space?" Nagelis rephrased.

Seeing Ange replied: "Always knew it. It taught me."

The "it" Seeing Ange referred to was naturally the Dragon God within his bloodline inheritance.

"Then why didn't you use it before?" Nagelis asked, baffled.

Seeing Ange replied blankly: "Didn't need to."

Nagelis nearly spat blood. What do you mean "didn't need to"? Did you think past enemies weren't worth using this move? Did you think they were too weak? Was it…

"No, you need to explain properly—what else can you do? What other abilities have you learned but never used? So we're not caught off guard again." Nagelis said.

Seeing Ange reluctantly began counting on his fingers.

"Uh… wait, shouldn't we first worry about those dragons? They're about to be wiped out," said the owl, stretching its neck to peer out the porthole.
