Chapter 265: They Are Actually Acquaintances
Bai Wei immediately called out, "Mom, there are thieves in the house. Go back to your room quickly and lock the door from the inside."
But Li Hong did not listen and screamed in a panic.
"Xiao Wei, where are you? Who has come into the house? Let's go call the police quickly."
"Mom, don't scream."
"Someone has run into my room, how can I not scream? Why are you still standing in the room? Hurry up and go out to call for help!"
"Mom, don't scream..."
Bai Wei wanted to make the noisy Li Hong shut up, but it was already too late.
The noise here had drawn the two thieves outside over.
Two dark shadows rushed into the room, followed by a person clutching their head; this was the thief who had just been struck by a stick by Bai Wei.
Seeing three strange masked men rush into the room, Li Hong let out an even more deafening scream.
"Who are you!"
Compared to Li Hong's agitation, Bai Wei was much calmer.
She gripped the Repeating Crossbow in her hand, aimed the arrow tip at the thieves, and barked sharply.
"Get out."
The man in the peaked cap, whose leg had been shot through on the floor, also endured the sharp pain and stood up with a limp.
"Boss, this woman has a weapon and even shot my leg."
One of the tall figures looked at Bai Wei and spoke viciously.
"She only has one arrow, we have four people, she can't run!"
"What do you want to do?" Li Hong asked, trembling, her face drained of color.
The tall figure sneered, "I heard you have many treasures and antiques hidden here. Hand them all over, or I will slaughter both of you."
"No, don't kill us." Li Hong begged in terror, "Whatever you take a fancy to, just take it."
Taking advantage of Li Hong and the thieves wrangling, Bai Wei quickly wrote a note.
"Four thieves, want antiques."
The next moment, she reached out her hand, revealing a note that had been Teleportation-ed into her palm.
"You tell them the valuable things are in the Wardrobe."
The Wardrobe?
Bai Wei subconsciously raised her head and looked at the Wardrobe placed in the corner of the wall.
Originally, the Wardrobe was kept in the Warehouse, but now that she had expanded the Warehouse, she had the workers move the Wardrobe into the room.
"Don't kill us, I'll give you the money..." Li Hong was still trembling as she begged.
However, the thieves became even more ferocious.
"Cut the crap, hand over the antiques. We know you have valuable treasures here."
Bai Wei took a deep breath, "The treasures you want are packed in that big cabinet over there. If you want them, go get them yourselves."
"In the cabinet?"
The thieves immediately turned their heads and looked at the Wardrobe in the corner.
*Click. *
Someone lit a lighter.
The faint light shone on the Wardrobe.
The thieves muttered for a while, and the one holding the lighter lowered his voice.
"This cabinet is antique-looking; it looks like a good item. You guys wait, I'll go over and take a look first."
"She has a Bow and Arrow in her hand. You guys keep an eye on her, watch out for tricks."
After saying this, the person with the lighter gripped a Bone-carving Knife in one hand and the lighter in the other, moving toward the Wardrobe.
The remaining three thieves kept their six eyes fixed tightly on Bai Wei, preventing her from seizing an opportunity to shoot an arrow.
Li Hong slumped against the wall, her face pale with fright, and kept on calling out.
"Xiao Wei, did your grandmother leave behind a few antiques? Hurry up and give the antiques to them."
"These thieves are so fierce, hurry up and take the antiques out."
"What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and give them to them."
Bai Wei simply ignored the nagging in her ears; she focused her attention on the three people in front of her to avoid being distracted.
These three thieves dared not come over now simply because they were wary of the Repeating Crossbow in her hand, fearing she might hit someone.
If she were distracted and these thieves rushed up to subdue the mother and daughter, then she would no longer be the one in control.
At this moment, the thief with the lighter had already walked to the side of the Wardrobe.
He steadied himself, gripped the Bone-carving Knife, and pulled open the Wardrobe.
*Whoosh. *
As soon as the Wardrobe door opened, a huge black shadow suddenly lunged out.
"Squawk!"
A giant falcon lunged out from the Wardrobe!
Bai Wei was stunned, then immediately called out in pleasant surprise.
"Cang Yun!"
This was the gyrfalcon that Xiao Moting raised!
She did not expect that Xiao Moting, in order to help her, had actually Teleportation-ed the eagle over.
Cang Yun was a true war eagle, fierce and incomparable; it had been on the battlefield with Xiao Moting, killed countless enemies, drank the blood of enemy troops, and eaten the flesh of enemy troops—it was completely different from eagles domesticated in the modern era.
It lunged out of the wardrobe, fiercely clawing upward at the thief.
Its sharp eagle talons, like blades, instantly knocked the Bone-carving Knife out of the thief's hand.
"Ah!"
The thief holding the lighter simply did not expect an eagle to lunge out from the wardrobe, and was so startled that he let out a cry, dropping the lighter in his hand to the ground.
The giant eagle lunged forward fiercely, its five claws like hooks, biting and attacking ferociously.
The suddenly appearing giant eagle left the few thieves unable to recover their wits; by the time they reacted, their accomplice had already been bitten by the eagle until he was covered in blood and riddled with wounds, screaming incessantly as he retreated.
A man in black shouted in exasperation.
"This damn girl actually kept an eagle in the wardrobe to trick us!"
In his haste, he forgot to lower his voice, and Bai Wei immediately sensed something was wrong.
This familiar voice was actually Bai Cai.
Bai Wei shouted, "Bai Cai? It's actually you?"
The man in black froze, then immediately sneered.
"Since I've been discovered anyway, I won't pretend anymore. Bai Wei, hand over the antique in your hand."
Li Hong also cried out in shock, "Bai Cai? You actually brought others to our Farm to steal things?"
Bai Cai took off the black cloth mask from his face, pressed the lighter, and lit a candle.
The candlelight illuminated his ferocious face, full of malice.
"Li Hong, your good daughter caused my parents to be imprisoned and severely injured; I'm here to collect some interest from her."
Seeing Bai Cai, Bai Wei was not the least bit flustered.
Just a moment ago, she had already felt suspicious; these few thieves coming to the Farm to steal at such a precise time were most likely acquaintances.
She spoke coldly, "Bai Cai, your parents being injured is their own fault! Who told them to covet my Farm and try to climb over the wall to get in."
"Shut your mouth." Bai Cai's eyes turned red as he shouted sternly, "If it weren't for your stinginess, refusing to give us a single cent, how could my parents have climbed the wall? They were all harmed by you! I owe millions in loans now; hurry up and hand over the antique your grandmother left behind, otherwise don't blame me for not considering our kinship today."
"Bai Cai, don't do anything rash." Li Hong shouted anxiously, "I'll have Bai Wei take out the antique..."
"I won't give it." Bai Wei interrupted loudly, "Mom, if you want to give it, give it yourself. Why should I give it to him? Even if he owes ten million or a hundred million, it has nothing to do with me."
"You child..." Li Hong complained.
"Not giving it?" Bai Cai sneered, brandishing the Dagger in his hand, "Bai Wei, you only have one arrow, and there are four of us here; you can shoot at most one."
