Chapter 119: Hiring

This shop seems to have a little game; if you win there are dolls and toys. Shall we go try it together?

As long as we go together, with so many people, he'll definitely find a way to pull either Su Yu or Liang Yan over to discuss.

Su Yu saw Liang Yan looking at her expectantly, nodded, "Alright, alright! Huo Huo, let's play together and bring the doll home!"

"Alright!"

Su Yu held Liang Yan's hand and followed Ye Shu, with elder uncle and four bodyguards behind them.

"Dear guests, hello. May I ask how old the two children are? Our game area offers puzzle mini‑games, divided by age zones."

Su Yu looked at the three main sections behind the staff: 0–5, 5–10, and over 10.

"One is three years old, the other is five!"

"Okay, please come this way!"

Ye Shu went over, paid, and let Liang Yan and Su Yu enter the game area.

A staff member wearing a rabbit‑ear headband whispered, "Hello, little ones. Here are three games: Building Blocks, Spot the Difference, and Quiz. You can choose one game!"

Su Yu looked at the different dolls hanging in each area and asked, "Does each game correspond to a different doll?"

The staff nodded, "Yes! The children go to the area of the doll they like. Each area may have duplicate dolls. Duplicates can be exchanged here for game tokens, or for other dolls!"

The staff pointed to a nearby display cabinet filled with various pretty dolls. The tags showed the quantity and name of each doll, not the price.

"May I join two or three games?"

"Sure, one game token corresponds to one game."

Liang Yan glanced at the game tokens in his hand and said, "Little sister Xiao Yu, here you go!"

"No need, let Uncle Ye buy a few more for us!"

【100 yuan each, I need to play several times to exchange for those pretty dolls in the cabinet and break even!】

On the other side, Ye Shu looked at Su Xi sitting in a booth and said, "How about a game or some food? The staff and bodyguards here are watching the two of you, so don't worry!"

The area they were in is set up especially for parents who watch the kids; they can see the children's activities while having their own space to do what they like, essentially paying for others to watch the kids.

"Mm!"

Su Xi took the game console Ye Shu handed over.

"Uncle Ye!"

"They're looking for me, I'll go over!"

Ye Shu sprinted over and crouched; when he looked back and saw Su Xi unmoving, he let out a sigh of relief.

"What do you need me for?"

"We want to play three times, but the staff here said we don't have enough game tokens!"

Ye Shu pulled a card from his pocket, "This is easy! This is a VIP card; you swipe it, and if you don't get the doll you like in a round, that's fine. You can stack quantity to gain experience and keep playing until you're satisfied!"

Su Yu took the VIP card, smiling brightly, "Thank you, Uncle!"

Ye Shu saw Su Xi not coming over, and Su Yu, holding the card, was about to leave, so he quickly tugged her, "Sweetie, I have something to discuss with you."

"Go ahead!"

Su Yu got the card and was in a great mood.

"There are two kids trying to scam Aunt Xie; could you help teach them a lesson? It's not appropriate for us adults to intervene. That child also tricked Huo Huo. They even plan to adopt him under Zhu Xueheng's name."

Realizing Su Yu and Liang Yan might not grasp the meaning of adoption, he added, "They intend to snatch Huo Huo's parents and her belongings!"

【Damn, what era is this, still doing adoption tricks?】

Ye Shu presented two identical bank cards again, "Your reward is 600,000 each."

【Wow, that's so generous! Huh, Liang Yan is so calm! I can't get too excited either! Awooo! But that's 600,000! The poorest kid in the circle must be me. Still, with that much money why not hire a mercenary?】

Su Yu has a Draw card system; she believes she can achieve an effect a 600,000 mercenary can't. But Ye Shu doesn't know—he actually is willing to spend that money! Isn't he afraid they'll take the money and not work?

Su Yu doesn't know whether to call him a spendthrift or be moved by his trust in her.

"Snatching Huo Huo's parents and her stuff is just too much! Let's teach them a lesson together!"

Liang Yan nodded, "Right, wherever they are, I'll go punish them!"

Liang Yan doesn't recall who deceived her, but Uncle Ye knows, and Little sister Xiao Yu is also there; they will surely, like last time at the Shi Family, make those two kids suffer a big loss just like Liang Chengwei.

Ye Shu hurriedly stopped the agitated Liang Yan, who wanted to run out of the game area, "Hey, hey, hey, don't rush. When I hold the engagement ceremony, they'll definitely be there. That's when you strike, understand? There will be many people, and they should be embarrassed in front of all the guests and then get a beating at home!"

Su Yu replied, "No problem, I'll definitely make a solid plan!"

Su Yu isn't some unscrupulous broker either. She plans to spend 100,000 to draw a card and deal with those two kids, and keep the rest as her fee.

"Alright, here's a photo, take a look!"

Ye Shu pulled out his phone to show them both.

【Wulongcha, it's alive!】

【Here it comes, I've noted it!】

Liang Yan glanced at the photo and recognized who it was.

"This is the classmate who told me that my dad is very kind to many aunts!"

Ye Shu originally wanted to make a snide remark about Zhu Xueheng, but thinking of the current situation, he immediately defended Zhu Xueheng.

"That kid tricked you! He just wants to steal what your dad gave you!"

"That's not okay!"

Liang Yan was truly angry! Her dolls are so beautiful, and this guy is so ugly—how can he match her dolls!

"Right, not okay! They're all Huo Huo's!"

"Little sister Xiao Yu is right!"

Su Yu and Liang Yan were both fuming, and Ye Shu quickly changed the subject.

"Don't be angry, don't be angry. We'll deal with them next time; you go play the games first!"

If we don't play the game, Su Xi will be coming over.

Ye Shu said uneasily, "This is our secret, you guys remember to keep it secret!"

Su Yu nodded, "Don't worry, I'm very conscientious about contracts!"

Liang Yan didn't speak, turned his head and went to the building block game area, spending one game coin!

Su Yu put the card Ye Shu gave her into her inner pocket, also spent one game coin, and played together with Liang Yan.

Su Xi's brows were sharp as she stared at the returning Ye Shu, "What did you say to them?"

Ye Shu shook his head, "I didn't say anything; I just saw that kid from the documents here, the Lin family kid who deceived Liang Yan. I told them a bit so they wouldn't be deceived by that Lin family kid."

You're not a kid anymore; you need to know what you should and shouldn't do.

Don't let being beaten by your parents too many times keep your mentality at a child's age! It's ridiculous that he thought of letting two kids beat up a person!

Don't worry!

It's just making the two kids lose face; compared to what Lu Zhongda had those two kids do, he's very conscientious!

……

Su Yu and Liang Yan finished building the blocks and got a doll. Su Yu was still full of spirit, while Liang Yan was listless.

I'm so tired, I don't want to play anymore!

Then let's go out to eat something!

Liang Yan looked longingly at the newly hung doll, "But we've only got two dolls, there are still lots more over there! That one over there is the prettiest!"

Liang Yan pointed at the doll hung at the very top.

May I ask how to get that doll?
