Chapter 405: The Homeland of the Gods: The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors of the Divine Race?
"I refuse!"
"Alright, then I'll choose someone else."
After Nv Wa expressed her stance, Tai Yi changed his mind at lightning speed.
This made Nv Wa wonder whether the other party had ever seriously considered this matter!
【Could this guy be approaching the issue of the Divine Religion’s leader with the mindset of “no dates, no problem—just swing the pole twice first”?】
Since the Twelve Gods of Tai Wei had a tradition of acting frivolously, Nv Wa could not determine what Tai Yi’s true intentions were regarding the 【Sun Supreme】.
Yet she had indeed seriously considered Tai Yi’s proposal of a “Divine Religion” leader.
Even Tai Yi’s concept of a “Divine Race,” though bold, was not entirely without merit.
The title “Divine” indeed evokes greater recognition and aspiration among all living beings than any single primordial race.
If this opportunity could be used to truly establish a “Divine Religion,” and even a “Divine Race,” transcending racial boundaries, with the core principle of “all who pursue the Dao may become Divine,”
it would indeed help consolidate the Heavenly Court’s rule and the overall harmony and unity of the Hong Huang.
Yet the difficulty and risk involved are equally immeasurable.
“Your Majesty’s proposal is far-sighted, yet the names ‘Divine Race’ and ‘Divine Religion,’ though seemingly inclusive, harbor hidden dangers,” Nv Wa mused for a moment before speaking.
“First, myriad races stand tall, each with their own heritage and pride—how can they willingly relinquish part of their inherent racial identity to submit under a grander yet vaguer concept of ‘Divine Race’? This inevitably involves massive adjustments of interests and conflicts of Dao.”
Nv Wa looked at Tai Yi with serious expression and continued: “Second, once the Divine Religion is established, what are its doctrines? What are its precepts? What is its organizational structure? And who will specifically govern and implement it? These are matters requiring extreme caution.”
“Uniting myriad races under one lineage, even slightly mishandled, could repeat the chaos of the past Shen Ni rebellion and bring new turmoil to the Hong Huang.”
Upon hearing this, Tai Yi’s expression turned solemn. He bowed deeply to Nv Wa and said: “Your concerns are precisely the key issues I intend to discuss with all of you next.”
“Regarding the recognition of myriad races, I believe we should follow the principle of ‘seeking common ground while preserving differences, integrating and developing together.’”
“The Hong Huang thrives precisely because of its myriad Dao paths in contention and a hundred flowers in bloom.”
“The name ‘Divine Race’ is more like a ‘crown’ symbolizing the shared identity of ‘seekers of the Dao’—wearing this crown, each race remains itself, yet gains an additional sacred mission: to strive together for the evolution of the entire Hong Huang and myriad worlds.”
Tai Yi smiled: “We are not establishing the Divine Race to forcibly erase each race’s unique heritage and characteristics.”
“Rather, under this shared top-level identity of ‘Divine Race,’ we encourage each race to leverage its strengths, learn from one another, progress together, and ultimately form a pluralistic yet unified ‘Hong Huang Divine Dao Civilization System.’”
“Seeking common ground while preserving differences, harmony without uniformity?” Nv Wa’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, her expression thoughtful.
Kun Peng, Bai Ze, Ao Ming, and other Inner Council members were also deeply contemplating.
Tai Yi continued: “As for the doctrines and precepts of the Divine Religion, I have some ideas—feel free to consider them.”
“First: Reverence Heaven and Earth, follow Great Expansion.”
“Heaven and Earth are the legacy of Pan Gu, parents of all things. We are born of them, raised by them—we must hold reverence, comprehend the ultimate principles of their operation, follow the Dao, and seek our own path and transcendence amid the cycles of cosmic birth and death, eon transitions.”
“Second: Trace the origin, awaken the true self.”
“Every living being carries the potential to nurture a primordial, indestructible spark of spirit. The essence of cultivation lies in continually brushing away postnatal dust, piercing through illusory attachments, tracing back to the most primordial, purest ‘primordial Dao nature,’ and ultimately attaining the eternal, unchanging, Dao-unified ‘True Self Divine Form.’”
“Third: All living beings are equal, all may become Divine.”
“The three thousand Dao paths are boundless in vitality. Whether primordial divine spirits, postnatal living beings, plants, trees, spirits, or strange beasts—if one’s heart turns toward the Dao, strives with courage and diligence, accumulates merit and virtue, all have hope to ignite Divine fire, condense a Divine Form, transcend the mundane, ascend to the Immortal ranks, and even attain the Divine Throne, sharing eternity with Heaven and Earth, radiating with Sun and Moon. This is the universal truth, the grand aspiration of the Divine Religion.”
“Fourth: Establish lineage, benefit all living beings with the Dao.”
“Those who attain the Dao must not merely cultivate themselves—they must also uplift all. All who become Divine should, with the Dao they have realized, either establish sects and widely transmit teachings to sustain the flame of civilization; or use their divine powers to protect the living of a region, defend against natural and human disasters, maintain cosmic harmony; or use wisdom to enlighten the ignorant, spread truth, and guide later generations onto the path of cultivation. This is the responsibility of the Divine, and the source of merit.”
“Fifth.”
“Sixth.”
Tai Yi’s vision for the Divine Religion was clearly not impulsive—he had long contemplated it.
Now, as he spoke fluently, laying out the doctrines, precepts, and more, the Inner Council members were deeply absorbed in thought.
These doctrinal texts were all excellent, integrating the Hong Huang world’s unique cosmology, cultivation philosophy, and values—all centered on goodness.
They were also easier for primordial deities, major races, and countless living beings to understand and accept.
“And as for the position of Divine Religion leader—”
Tai Yi shifted tone and turned his gaze back to Nv Wa.
“After much thought, I believe among all the Hong Huang, you, Nv Wa Daoist, are most suitable.”
“With your ability, to lead all Divine beings and teach all living beings—you are unquestionably worthy!”
Tai Yi spoke with heartfelt sincerity.
Upon hearing this, Kun Peng, Bai Ze, and other Inner Council members nodded in agreement, endorsing Tai Yi’s vision and earnestly urging Nv Wa to prioritize the Hong Huang’s greater good and accept the position of Divine Religion leader.
Nv Wa looked into Tai Yi’s hopeful eyes and the earnest gazes of the Inner Council members, her heart filled with complex emotions.
She knew this was not merely a position of leader—it was a heavy responsibility and mission.
Of course, also immense karmic debt.
If successful, the myriad races of the Hong Huang might truly enter a new era of grand fusion and development.
She could also accumulate immeasurable merit, adding substantial weight to her own Dao path.
But if it failed, the consequences… would be unbearable.
After long contemplation, Nv Wa finally spoke slowly, her voice calm yet carrying an undeniable authority: “Your Majesty’s kindness, I deeply appreciate.”
“The matter of the Divine Religion concerns the future of the Hong Huang—it is no trivial matter, and cannot be borne by one person alone.”
Nv Wa still refused to step into this pit.
She said: “Moreover, I believe the matter of the Divine Religion requires careful deliberation—it cannot be rushed.”
“The urgent priority is to first implement the ‘unification of postnatal script’—this is the foundation of teaching and the prerequisite for racial integration.”
“Only after script unification enables seamless communication should we deliberate the specific statutes of the Divine Religion—this is the prudent course.”
Tai Yi, seeing Nv Wa decline again, did not press. He nodded gently: “Your words are most wise.”
After declining the position of Divine Religion leader, Nv Wa pondered, then suddenly brightened.
She offered Tai Yi a suggestion: “If Your Majesty truly seeks a leader capable of commanding respect, persuading the Divine, and truly bringing the ‘Divine Religion’ concept to fruition, I have an excellent candidate for your consideration.”
Tai Yi’s spirits instantly lifted. He asked urgently: “Who?”
“The Three Pure Ones of Kunlun!”
Nv Wa smiled: “Mount Kunlun is now renowned throughout the myriad worlds as the Ancestor of All Mountains, the Homeland of the Divine.”
“If Your Majesty wishes to establish the Divine Religion and create the Divine Race, perhaps you should invite the Three Pure Ones to emerge from seclusion and oversee the matter.”
“The Three Pure Ones are all manifestations of Pan Gu’s primordial spirit—of noble status, profound cultivation, masters of the Xuan Men, their disciples spread across the myriad heavens, their influence incalculable.”
“If Your Majesty wishes to successfully establish the ‘Divine Religion’ and create the all-encompassing ‘Divine Race’ to unify the hearts of the myriad races of the Hong Huang,”
“then perhaps you should personally journey to Mount Kunlun, sincerely invite these Three Celestial Lords to emerge, and entrust the establishment and development of the Divine Religion to one of them—or to all three together.”
“With the supreme prestige and profound foundation of the Three Pure Ones throughout the Hong Huang and myriad worlds, if they lend their full support, Your Majesty’s ‘Divine Religion’ enterprise, and even the Divine Race project, will surely achieve twice the result with half the effort, flowing naturally to success!”
She smoothly passed the buck, handing the immense karmic debt directly to the Three Pure Ones.
After thoughtful consideration, Tai Yi found it entirely reasonable.
He accepted the suggestion: “Very well, I shall go to Mount Kunlun at once.”
“Your Majesty, wait.” At this moment, the 【Purple Micro Emperor】 Fu Xi appeared in the hall.
He suddenly asked: “When will Your Majesty announce your emergence from seclusion? The celestial wedding was long agreed upon—if delayed too long, Daoist Chang Xi will have no good excuse.”
“This is not urgent, not urgent,” Tai Yi shook his head gently.
Though the two brothers could take turns as Heavenly Emperor, some positions could not be substituted.
The celestial wedding must wait until the elder brother emerges from seclusion before proceeding!
Vast Kunlun, shrouded in fairy mist, divine light radiated in myriad rays, auspicious qi flowed in thousands of streams.
Tai Yi left the Heavenly Realm and soon arrived at Eastern Kunlun.
He suppressed his Heavenly Emperor aura and submitted a personal invitation under private identity.
Guang Chengzi and other Chan Sect disciples led a host of Heavenly Immortals to welcome him.
“We humbly welcome Your Majesty’s arrival—we apologize for failing to greet you sooner.”
“Today, I am the Sun Supreme,” Tai Yi instructed.
Guang Chengzi understood immediately: “Yes, Your Majesty.”
Soon after, the disciples led him into the Jade Void Palace’s main hall.
Upon the dais, the Three Pure Ones sat side by side upon cloud beds, awaiting his arrival.
In the center sat Yu Qing Yuan Shi Tian Zun—Xiang Xuanqing—wearing a seventy-two-colored Dao robe, his face stern yet softened by a gentle smile.
To his left sat Tai Qing De Dao Tian Zun—Tai Shang—white-haired and ruddy-cheeked, clad in Taiji Bagua immortal robes, holding a fly whisk, expression serene and effortless, eyes deep as the ocean.
To his right sat Shang Qing Ling Bao Tian Zun, Yu Chen Dao Jun, wearing an ancient Qing Ping sword at his waist, eyebrows as sharp as blades, radiating boundless Zhuxian sword qi.
All three Celestial Lords possessed depths of qi as vast as oceans, cultivation levels immeasurable.
Merely sitting there casually, they exuded an unparalleled majesty that suppressed all antiquity and governed the myriad heavens—so even Tai Yi, the Heavenly Emperor, dared not show the slightest disrespect.
“What brings Your Majesty to the Jade Void Palace?” Xiang Xuanqing asked curiously.
“This matter is long to explain.”
After Tai Yi sat down, he cut straight to the point, laying out plainly and fully his purpose for coming to Kunlun.
He detailed every aspect of his grand plan: establishing the “Divine Religion,” unifying myriad races under the “Divine Race.”
The Three Pure Ones listened silently to Tai Yi’s exposition.
Throughout, they did not interrupt once; their faces revealed no discernible emotion.
As if Tai Yi’s words were merely an ordinary, trivial matter.
Only when Tai Yi had finished his entire plan and looked at them expectantly, hoping for their support and approval,
did the hall fall into an eerie silence.
The Three Pure Ones remained as inscrutable as ever—none spoke first.
Yet between them, they exchanged a silent, unspoken communication only they could understand, through glances alone.
After a long silence, Xiang Xuanqing, seated in the center, was the first to break it. He looked at Taiyi and asked calmly:
“Just now, I heard Your Majesty mention that Kunlun Mountain is the ‘Ancestor of All Mountains, the Homeland of All Gods.’ I wonder… where exactly did Your Majesty hear this?”
Upon hearing this, Taiyi’s heart gave a slight jolt—he clearly sensed a hint of displeasure in Xiang Xuanqing’s tone.
But he still had a shred of conscience.
He couldn’t directly betray Nv Wa in front of the Three Pure Ones.
So he could only answer vaguely: “This is merely a widely circulated legend throughout the Hong Huang Wan Jie, not attributed to any specific source.”
“Oh? Is that so? Then perhaps Your Majesty has gone to the wrong place,” Xiang Xuanqing replied, gently shaking his head with a faint, knowing smile.
He spoke slowly: “Your Majesty may not know that the Hong Huang Kunlun Sacred Mountain is divided into two branches: Eastern Kunlun and Western Kunlun.”
“The Daoist seat of my three brothers and I is the Jade Void Palace of Eastern Kunlun.”
“Though it is indeed blessed with spiritual energy and abundant immortal aura, when it comes to the famed reputation of ‘Ancestor of All Mountains, Homeland of All Gods,’ and its exalted status among the Hong Huang Wan Zu—especially among the ancient deities—it falls far short of the Yaochi Daoist of Western Kunlun.”
As Xiang Xuanqing spoke these words, a glint of mischief flashed in his eyes as he continued: “Thus, this legend truly refers to the Yaochi Sacred Realm of Western Kunlun!”
“If Your Majesty truly seeks a powerful being capable of commanding respect and deeply connected to the ‘Homeland of All Gods’ to serve as the head of this Divine Sect,”
“then, in my humble opinion, you should go and consult with the Yaochi Jin Mu of Western Kunlun.”
“Exactly!”
Tai Shang and Yu Chentian Jun turned to Taiyi and spoke with perfect seriousness:
“The Yaochi Daoist is the former sovereign of the Immortal Court. Given her exalted status among the Hong Huang Immortals and the myriad deities of heaven and earth, and her supreme authority over the Wan Xian Roster,”
“wouldn’t she be far more fitting and authoritative as the head of this Divine Sect than the three of us?”
After hearing this utterly serious nonsense from the Three Pure Ones, Taiyi was left utterly stunned.
Good heavens!
Don’t you feel any guilt saying this?
Does Yaochi even know she’s considered this “exalted”?
Nv Wa dumped the burden on the Three Pure Ones, and now they’re trying to pass it right off to Yaochi Jin Mu of Western Kunlun!
If you go to Yaochi Jin Mu, won’t she just pass it on to someone else again?
Is this position of Divine Sect Head really that hot?
Though Taiyi seethed inwardly, his expression remained calm and composed.
He made no immediate declaration about whether he would or would not go to Western Kunlun; instead, he sat down calmly on the guest cushion in the Jade Void Palace, lost in thought.
He simply sat there.
Adopting the posture of: “If you don’t give me a clear answer today, I’m not leaving.”
He knew that dealing with the Three Pure Ones—old foxes of this caliber—was useless if he relied only on “appealing to emotion and reason.”
Sometimes, a bit of “playing the fool” and “wasting time” could yield unexpected results.
After all, he hadn’t come here today under the formal title of “Heavenly Emperor,” so there was no shame.
True to form, after seeing Taiyi’s “I’m not budging” stance, the Three Pure Ones exchanged another meaningful glance, as if silently negotiating an “interest exchange” and “responsibility allocation.”
Finally, Tai Shang spoke: “Your Majesty, the three of us are all stewards of the Xuanmen. To also assume the position of Divine Sect Head would be inappropriate.”
“However,” Tai Shang shifted tone, his face softening into a benevolent smile as if he were genuinely concerned for Taiyi’s welfare,
“since Your Majesty is so determined to advance this ‘Divine Sect’ enterprise, as a part of the Hong Huang, we naturally cannot stand idly by—we must assist Your Majesty in easing your burdens.”
“As for the selection of the Sect Head, though we are unfit, we can offer Your Majesty a fresh perspective, as a small contribution.”
Hearing this, Taiyi’s heart leapt—he sensed a turning point—and quickly said: “I beg the Heavenly Venerable to instruct me!”
Tai Shang stroked his long beard, speaking slowly: “If Your Majesty truly wishes to unify the hearts of the Hong Huang Wan Zu under the banner of the ‘Divine Clan,’
then the most crucial point is to offer sufficient, compelling benefits that will entice all to rally to your cause—thus drawing in the celestial deities and the powerful, influential primordial races.”
“After all, to win their willing allegiance to your ‘Divine Sect’ and ‘Divine Clan,’ you must offer them tangible rewards.”
“What if, within this newly established ‘Divine Clan,’ you establish the ‘Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors’ positions, and stipulate that these roles shall be held in rotation by the leaders or supreme beings of each race who have contributed the most to the Divine Clan, accumulated the greatest merit, and possess the strongest power?”
“Would Your Majesty accept such a proposal?” Tai Shang gazed at Taiyi with deep implication.
CRACK~~~
The moment Tai Shang finished speaking,
a thunderclap suddenly echoed within Nv Wa’s Tai Su Dao Tian.
Nv Wa, who had been calmly calculating the feasibility of “molding earth to create Pan Gu,” snapped her head up.
She pinched her fingers and performed a celestial calculation.
After a moment, she wore an expression of helpless amusement.
“You guys really…”
Why did this burden come back to me again?
